We realised that we couldn't really have a "gets tortured for information" storyline in the modern AU without making it way too grimdark so GUESS WHAT JIA HAS CANCER NOW

#IT'S OKAY SHE GETS BETTER #honestly idek if it is cancer. Kat's the doctor. not me. and she used a lot of confusing words #but essentially it's something awful that will require chemo and a bone marrow transplant so even if it's not cancer that doesn't help her #hey Syd. if you're reading this. just know that this is the mess we're making of the Metalbanders AU #yes I know I was supposed to develop modern Suiren properly. but somehow the conversation between me and Kat moved from her to her parents #including zaheer. then to his family. and now we're here #Jia is Aiza's gf. Aiza/Emran is Zaheer's genderfluid pansexual polyamorous icon of a sibling #and yeah in canon verse she's the one who helps Aiza run away to escape an arranged marriage. and as a result gets tortured for weeks 😬#don't ask how we decided that THAT storyline should be replaced with cancer. it makes sense in our heads okay #ironically this branch of the modern AU is closest to Metalbanders bc Aiza is a musician #though likely in a completely different genre from harmonic convergence #jia is one too it's just not what she does full time #I actually came up with a very sweet storyline for them and how they met #bc Jiaiza is one of the ships that makes me insane #originally only in canon verse because of everything that happens. but now that this storyline has taken shape..#I'm losing it over them in this verse as well #long rambling tags that say nothing of substance at all :P #I should go eat #and ideally sleep cause I've turned nocturnal and stayed awake all night but ehh #who needs sleep really #Kat and Nia and their multiverse of madness #metalbanders #<— VERY TANGENTIALLY I'M SORRY I KEEP MISUSING THAT TAG
