composer girlies, period. they're under the same record label and meet every time jen's in the us. they come out of the studio with hits every.single.time, and that's facts. they get on the zone instantly and can understand each other so well that not even words are needed. they communicate almost telepathically, i'm not joking -they're THAT connected. you can see at least two photos with gracie when jen posts dumps on her social media. there's not one papparazzi photo of them together though, everyone's not sure how they don't get spotted -like, not even one photo? it's really a mistery for jen's fanbase. she met paul a few times, and while she finds him polite and funny, my girl is very perceptive -she gets where gracie gets her inspiration from, so she gets the ick from him a bit. sorry not sorry paul. jen's a girl's girl through and through. plus she was in gracie' situation not so long ago, so...

mei nagano (japanese actress) :

a fact about jen's that she's a history geek. and you may think, why the am i bringing this up? well, you see, little miss here had a samurai-loving phase back in the day, and, well, 2 plus 2 equals... yeah, binge-watching samurai movies 24/7. but let me tell you a story: once upon a time at a prada fashion show where jen was presented as their ambassador, -mind you, her first contract with a luxury brand- feeling absolutely fine, because why would she feel nervous at all? it's not like she just saw sarah paulson- oh, and mei nagano is not walking towards her with a smile, haha... like, what were the chances of her meeting the actress she was obsessed in for almost three years? very high, indeed, as she's chatting with her (in japanese of course, our polyglot queen!) like they're old friends catching up... yeah, that resumes the start of this friendship. jen's like a little sister to mei, and we get that from their interactions and everytime they're spotted in japan mei's dotting on jen, smiling ear to ear. the later's japanese fanbase expanded because of this friendship, that's for sure.

son heung-min (korean footballer) :

sunshine uncle/grumpy niece duo. there's not a better way to describe their relationship, really. our girl is a fifa, i won't beat around the bush on this one. and maybe tottenham's not on its best season it doesn't matter when you read this, but who cares? she shows her support on social media- girl doesn't miss a game i bet you. she's a fan of cuti romero (don't say that to paulo, he gets pouty) and korea's global star, because, who isn't a fan of sonny? so, a win-win. does this mean she didn't almost get a heart attack when she was asked to do a commercial with him? of course not, her manager was worried that he had to put his cpr lessons to use. did she came back to life as soon as heungmin smiled and waved at her? surprisingly, yes! and they had such a good time and said commercial became so popular that every korean brand wanted them to shoot together. they bonded well too because of their shared birthtown. she became tottenham's honorable guest too! she was given a full tour and a lifetime pass to the spurs' games, and boy wasn't she floating in excitement... never beating the fifa allegations, sadly. she really almost passes out when the players themselves told her that her song (houdini) is a must when they have training sessions.

some facts about jen :

↬ she's an INTP-T. she took the test twice (before and after her debut). it didn't change.

↬ she's left handed. her parents tried to teach her to use her right hand, but it was useless. that's why she has to check twice before buying guitars.

↬ foodie and chef. jen loves all kind of food, and is always munching on something, be it salty snacks, peperos, candies, mandu, you name it. her dream after retiring from the industry is opeing a restaurant with influences from Korea and Argentina.

↬ sports fan. before everything, she's a football fanatic. she has a lot of jerseys (both of the national teams, boca juniors, roma, tottenham), which she proudly shows everytime she has the chance. she played volleyball on high school, winning a lot of awards. because of a video of her celebrating Argentina winning the World Cup, she became more cherished among the netizens. she watches other sports too, like tennis, f1 and handball.

↬ ultimate exo-l. if you want to drag exo, you'll have to pass through jen first. exo is the sole reason of her not quitting during her trainee days, literally. she's been a fan since she was twelve years old, and she always talks about them like they own her whole heart (it's true). now that she gets paid, she collects EVERYTHING exo related... no questions asked. she met them a few times, but her dream is to record music with them.

↬ designated driver. always the responsible person, jen's the designated driver when she goes out with her friends. she doesn't like to drink too much, prefering to dance her heart out.

↬ social butterfly. even if she's introverted, if you approach her calmly you have a lot of chances of becoming jen's friend. she's very polite and calm, and because of that she has friends in almost every group that debuted the same time as her.

↬ animal-friendly. jen loves all kind of animals, and know fun facts of all of them. she likes horses, dogs and butterflies the most.

↬ benevolent. she donates a lot of money to foundations about health, help after natural disasters, children and women, animals, and the list goes on. she received recognitions from said foundations and from the Korean government too. She's the international ambassador of unicef and peta.

jen; background!.

jen's masterlist

2001; jen was born in Chuncheon-si, South Korea, as an only child. she was provided with everything, even though her family's economic situation wasn't the best. she was a fast learner, as she began to walk and say her first words when she was two years and a half.

2005; jen's family moved to Argentina abruptly, as they were scammed by moneylenders (due to her father being in debt because of his ludopaty). jen didn't have a hard time getting used to the language and mannerisms, but her parents had. since then, jen became the link between her parents and their new environment.

she lived in Argentina until she was twelve years old. a job opportunity was presented to her parents, and after weighing the pros and cons for a very long time, they decided to leave Argentina and go back to South Korea again. jen had to leave a lot of friends behind, but she never lost contact with them, fortunately.

2015; jen's parents divorced.

at that time, jen didn't truly understood what being divorced meant, and she learned the hard way. in the blink of an eye, she had two homes: in South Korean, her mom's, and in Japan, her dad's. She spent three years travelling from one country to the other. she had a hard time making friends, making her the introvert she's now.

she wanted something that could take her mind off her problems, and decided to learn how to play the guitar. then, she explored other instruments, like piano and drums. she spent her free time improving her technique and versatility.

2018; jen's mental health was at a low point, so she started to pour her feelings into songs: music and songwriting became her safe place since then.

she uploaded a couple of songs on SoundCloud under the user 'hazedd.mindd', not trying to be famous but with the purpose of people to listen to her songs and feel represented and comforted in her lyrics. but as she started to prepare for university, she completely forgot about it.

2019; jen started her first year at Korea University, studying Media and Communications. she made a few friends, that will last even now, as a kpop idol. she got scouted when one of her friends, who played the guitar on the streets, invited her to sing with him, after the group went to a karaoke.

as the show finished, a middle-aged woman gave them a card. turns out she was from YG. they went to the audition tthe next weeek, and jen was the only who passed it. she decided to leave her studies and became a trainee.

◈ mom: HyuRi Hwang - 휴리 황

jen's very thankful to her mom because she was the one that convinced her father of accepting jen's choice about becoming an idol. hyuri cares a lot for her daughter, and is very supportive, as she feels guilty for the things that happened during jen's childhood and adolescence. the first thing that jen got her mom with her own money was a bag that hyuri wanted for a really long time. they don't have the perfect mother-daughter relationship, but they love each other anyways.

◈ dad: SangYi Sim - 상이 심

she was the closest with him, before the divorce. they lost frequency in messages after jen debuted. she knows he has another family through her mother. not knowing it from him hurt jen deeply, so she decided to stop being the one starting their conversations. because of that, they talked about twelve times in four years. the only thing they have in common now is their passion for fishing; nothing else, sadly. when her half brother was born, she sent him a box full of baby things. he never sent her a message thanking her for it.

◈ cousin: JaeYun Sim - 재윤 심

they're acquaintances, really. because they never met personally, even know as they both are idols, they don't have a close relationship as the fandoms would like. they support each other publicly though.

jen's friends outside the industry. part one

paulo dybala (argentinian footballer) :

they're the typical childhood besties. they've known each other since jen moved to cordoba with her family, living next to the dybala's family. paulo is the closest thing she has as a brother figure, as he always stood up for her when she was being bothered by children, and he always picked her up from her korean school to play football at the park, sharing some sweets after. when jen moved back to korea, they made a promise that they would make both of their dreams come true even if they were far apart from each other, and they did it. they never lost contact, as they text and call each other every week. jen was the one who pushed paulo to talk to oriana -she says it proudly every chance she gets- and she was a bridesmaid at their wedding in argentina (she begged asked her manager to let her go). the moment their friendship was made public was when argentina's football team won the world cup, through jen's post in her social media, where she was congratulating him. it was well received by the netizens, as it was a surprise how two people from such different 'worlds' could form a friendship like theirs.

bizarrap (argentinian producer) :

it's a long distance fellow producer relationship, as weird as it sounds. every once in a while jen gets in a producing frenzy, and makes like a dozen beats, lyrics, instrumentals, mellodies, you call it. after getting her energy back from that, she selects what she wants for her and what she wants to give to others to work on. one of the beats she gave away reached bizarrap's hands -i mean, computer- and that's how their friendship began. they give each other advices, tips, feedbacks, she even made some background armonies for him, and he uses her songs in his gigs. they've met once, at the 2024 brazilian gp, where she was invited by puma and both of them were williams' guests, of course. they were seen next to each other all the time, bonding really quick; a collab is a 100 percent scheduled, said jen. she uses his merch a lot, it can be seen in her social media and fansites; they exchanged signed merch too.

franco colapinto (argentinian f1 driver) :

bizarrap's doings, obviously. they didn't speak with each other until said gp. (jen wasn't prepared for him to be so charming, she almost short circuited). she has a 43 cap signed by him, which she keeps on the shelf of her apartment next to things related to argentina. he couldn't chat with both jen and bizarrap for long, but as it can be seen in williams' social media, they had a blast in such a short time. now we can see them interacting on their posts, supporting each other... and yes, we can also see how franco tries to flirt with jen, and how jen cuts his advances short. why would franco have jen's private instagram? of course not...

iris law (british model) :

they met for the first time while doing a vogue's magazine photoshoot, and they clicked off instantly. it's a low-effort/long distance friendship: as they live on literally two different continents, they rarely hang out, and taking their busy schedules into consideration it's a miracle how they're still friends. jen did the impossible to be iris' tour guide for the model's trip to seoul though. the pair had so much fun they decided that, when they both can, a trip to the uk had to be done. when they're invited to the same fashion shows the fans can see jen's easiness coming through when she spots iris, and they love it. there's one show where iris went with her dad -mind you, THE jude law- and jen, oblivious as always, only saw her friend. as she greeted her, someone came from behind the blonde, and our poor girl almost passes out. quoting a tweet from a fan: 'poor miss jen got heart palpitations when jude law hughed her -like, gurl get a grip please'. since that moment, she's teased at every fanmeeting. she gets so flustered it makes you feel sorry for her.
