TMYTEK Introduces 5G mmWave Beamformers and Frequency Converters for the FR2 Spectrum TMY Technology has introduced a series of 5G mmWave beamformers and frequency converters that support both 28 GHz and 39 GHz with the full 5G FR2 spectrum coverage for antenna and algorithm developers. In particular, academic researchers and antenna module makers can benefit from these innovative products to speed up their R&D progress 20X faster in the advanced mmWave solutions.

The use case of the University of Hawaii at Manoa has successfully developed a 5G NR sensing prototype system for contactless COVID-19 testing by using TMYTEK's mmWave products. With two of TMYTEK's beamformers, BBox, as the OFDM transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx), and one UD Box as a frequency up and down converter, researchers can set up a mmWave radar environment quickly and focus on algorithm development, to successfully developed an accurate, safe, and contactless COVID-19 testing system.

Which Company Has The Best Satellite TV Offer Today

Pay-TV offers can be broken down into two main categories: pay-TV via satellite TV and pay-TV via ADSL. Some subscriptions even allow you to mix the 2. But in practical terms, how to choose between satellite and ADSL? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both modes of distribution? What are the most advantageous offers?

1. ADSL ADSL television is the broadcasting of TV channels by ADSL signal. It is often a bundled offer for an Internet connection, offered by ISPs as part of a triplay offering combining broadband Internet, telephony and TV. ADSL technology reserves part of the bandwidth for voice traffic, part for data traffic to the network core (upward data) and part for data traffic to the subscriber (downstream data).

Installation and use When you subscribe to an ADSL television offer, you have at your disposal: - an ADSL modem - a digital decoder + remote control - cables + filter

The installation is theoretically much simpler than for a satellite installation: the decoder is connected to the television via a SCART cable and then connected to the modem. The modem is then connected to the telephone jack. Installation is complete. Advantages - can be reached at any time on the telephone line, - display of pages is much faster, - unlimited internet access, - unlimited telephony, - simple to use, does not require antennas or dishes,

Limits of supply - geographical remoteness prevents broadband reception - disturbance on ADSL networks which can result in a temporary loss of the TV and telephone signal, thus an image that will remain frozen on the TV (or then pixelated often in green and red color) and a chopped sound.

2. SATELLITE TV Presentation and operating principle Satellite television consists of receiving analogue and digital, pay (crypted) or free-to-air (in plain English) radio and television programmes from a satellite.

Materials required - satellite dish with universal head - coaxial cable - demodulator (in analogue broadcasting), or a DVB-S terminal (in digital broadcasting); - cable (scartel if in France, but with RCA jacks if in America) connecting the demodulator to the television set.

Advantages - solution for rural areas not benefiting from ADSL, - covers an entire territory, - wide choice of TV and radio channels classified by theme: cinema, sport, discovery, foreign channels...

Satellite limitations - offers only one TV offer, - requires a satellite antenna - If the dish is not in direct exposure with the satellite signal, there is a risk of image disturbance. - poor reception in strong winds and capricious weather conditions - longer and more restrictive installation than an ADSL box

Subscription Selection Criteria Generally, satellite TV offers offer a wider choice of channels than ADSL offers. - Integrated access to DTT Both types of offers (ADSL or satellite) can offer integrated DTT access. - VOD Some operators offer a VOD service, Video On Demand, which allows you to watch a film immediately. VOD is very often offered with ADSL offers. - Tripleplay offers Not all operators offer triplay offers, but it is the most widespread offer on the pay-TV market today. A triplay offer includes access to several TV channels, broadband internet access and unlimited fixed telephony service. - Fibre optic and ADSL Internet, phone to 103 unlimited destinations 300 TV channels including 150 included and digital video recorder, Video on Demand and personal TV services, TV Perso Freebox, selections of games (deminer, solitaire...). 29,99 € per month.
