“How’s that feel K-9?” the Doctor asked, on the other side of the console from where Peter entered the room- his current project hidden from view until he got a bit closer.

“S-s-s-speech ciiiiiiiiiiiiircuits rebooting. Stand by for apples, Master,” a mechanical voice said.

“Mm, close. Probably need a look at your logic board, too. It’s still in a better state than I thought it’d be after- Ah, hello Peter,” he said, finally spotting the teen out of the corner of his eye. Sensing the impending question, he continued- introducing him to the robot dog on the work bench in front of him. “Meet K-9. K-9 Mark III, to be more specific. He used to travel with me and, er... some other friends back in the old days. I’ve just been working on repairing him- honestly I didn’t think there’d be this much of him left in any sort of repair after he helped rid a school of some Krillitaines by laser-blasting open a barrel of their own oil. Long story. K-9, this is Peter Parker.”

“G-g-greetings Peeeeter Larker,” K-9 responded, small, satellite-dish-like ears twitching as he spoke.

“Yeah, like I said- work in progress. Any chance you could lend a hand? You’re good with robotics, aren’t you?”
