Request for big sister reader please with platonic yanderes Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond where reader is the one who has cared for them since young so they absolutely adore her. However, Rhaenyra wants to take her full sister with her to Dragonstone. The three do whatever it takes to make sure reader stays with them.
You were only a few years younger than Rhaenyra. Old enough to grieve your mother, who you loved greatly but not old enough to feel the same injustice your sister did when your father remarried and decided to take Lady Alicent as his wife.
In the months between Alicent becoming queen and up until Aegon's birth, Rhaenyra became increasingly more at your side, shooting Alicent a distasteful glare whenever she got close to you, even doing so when it was your father who came near you.
You were her sister, her flesh and blood, you both mourned, you were vulnerable, she wouldn't let anyone take advantage of you in this state.
But she couldn't deny the jealousy eating at her when you happily started to carry Aegon around, beaming and happily chatting about your new baby sibling to anyone who would listen.
You loved Aegon, of course, he was loud and sticky and stinky, like all babies were but he was your baby brother! You were his big sister, so you'd always love him and look out for him.
"Do you like your new brother, dearest?" Your father asked you one day, running his hair softly through your hair and you nodded happily, beaming up at him.
"Yes! I like Aegon a lot, I'm his big sister! So, I'll take care of him." You were happy at the touch of affection from your father.
Viserys, Alicent, and Otto all smiled at the answer which only incensed Rhaenyra more. You were her sister! Not that... that stupid baby's! He had only been born but he was stealing you and her rightful place as the next ruler from her. Her father had promised and sworn but he had the son he wanted now, so what would happen now?
Nothing, as she found out, she was still the next ruler, as the King's first born child. The revelations calmed her fears, as did the happiness on your face when you congratulated her.
She could always count on you. Her lovely sister.
Just as you adored Aegon, you love Helaena just as much. You had a little sister! Your very own little sister! She was such a quiet thing, but just as lovely!
Her quietness made her no less lovely to you. You carried her around, bringing her flowers to show her and little bugs in small jar before letting them go.
"If you love something, let them go. If they love you, they'll come back. That is why I'll always be by your side, lovely Aegon, sweet Helaena." You cooed at the three year old Aegon and eight months old Helaena.
"Sister." Aegon babbled, clinging close to you. He hated being away from you.
only about six months late, came baby Aemond and Rhaenyra hated how doting you were.
But things were peaceful for a while, things were still good. you spent most of your time with Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond. Taking walks with them, reading to them, playing with them.
Rhaenyra remained distant from them but not from you, she was as close as ever with you. She wanted to bring you to dragonstone. it was hers. as the heir, it was hers but you didn't want to leave while your younger siblings were still growing up.
She didn't want to leave you, so she let it be.
You were so happy for your sister when she got married, happy for your cousin Laenor too. You were even happier when both Alicent and your sister announced their pregnancies to you.
"Oh! Rhaenyra! I'm so happy for you!" You held her hands in yours, a beaming smile on your face. "Oh! I wonder if it'll be a girl or a boy!" You beamed happily before turning to your stemother.
"I'm so happy for your too! I'll be a big sister again! Oh, i wonder if Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond will be happy too." It'll Aemond's first time being a younger brother! You're overjoyed for him.
Alicent and Rhaenyra glared at each other when you weren't looking and you were oblivious as you were sucked in your joy.
You didn't get much time with Daeron but you were overjoyed by him, always trying to be there for him but Jace.
Oh sweet Jace, you adored your nephew. You coddled him endlessly, which Rhaenyra was happy about and your younger siblings weren't. Their nephew was jjust a bastard child, what did he have that they didn't?
It only became worse with luke's birth. They hated them both.
When Rhaenyra decided to leave for Dragonstone, she begged you to come with her.
"Oh, sister. Our younger siblings needs me here," You didn't want to make your sister feel bad but your siblings were still so young! Aemond was such a fragile child, as was Helaena and Aegon.
Rhaenyra held your hands in hers, her face twisted into a saddened expression. "I need you as well, sister. I am..." There was one more thing she could try to convince you with. "I am frightened, sister. All these baseless rumors. They all sneer at my children, I can't take it anymore. Jace and Luke, Joffrey too, I don't want them to bear the consequences of the ill rumors." It wasn't manipulation, she was indeed scared but if this took you aware from her siblings who sneered at her children and from her stepmother who openly questioned her children's legitimacy, then so be it.
Your face fell and you were quick to try and soothe your sister. "Oh! Oh, sister, do not fret." You whispered softly, hugging her softly, "Those awful people with nothing better to do! Jace is a prince, your heir, and luke will be the heir of driftmark one day, I am certain of it. How dare they!" Your sister shouldn't have to suffer such things.
"All I need is you by my side, please come with me." Rhaenyra pleaded with you.
"Oh, of course, I'll come with you. I shouldn't be away too long though." You fretted softly and Rhaenyra softly smiled at you.
You'd be too content to worry about coming back, she'd make sure of it.
As you left to dragonstone with Rhaenyra and her family, Rhaenyra waved at the watching trio while you weren't watching, only angering them further.
'I win.' she smiled as you.

may I request some sfw headcanons about aemond with handmaid!reader? 🥺
TOTALLY i plan on eventually writing their first meeting + how they fall in love and begin their secret (not so secret) relationship but in the meantime:
some cute & fluffy headcanons of aemond targaryen with his handmaid!reader (who is basically his wife because fuck the westerosi social stratification)
his handmaid's tales | main masterlist
Tumblr media
Okay, first, Siri pls play Woman by Doja Cat. Or, yknow, Waves of Blue by Majid Jordan.
His bed is your bed. Sure, you have your own tucked away in the servant’s quarters, in a room shared with two other maids, but you soon learn that Aemond prefers (demands) you remain by his side at all hours of the night. “What if I require my handmaid’s assistance at some random hour? No, you’ll stay with me where you belong.”
He loves for you to join him in his nighttime baths, not always with the intent to make love but for him to cradle your naked body close to his. Relaxing within the tub, soaking together in the scalding, scented waters, you and him are husband and wife.
"I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you." "Yes, my prince, I'm very much aware." "Don't you dare ever leave my side. I will not forgive you nor this damned world if I ever lost you."
Sometimes Alicent will walk in on soft, domestic moments where he’s seated in his chair, reading to the twins while you’re folding his clothing or tidying up the bed or tending to the newest babe. It is sweet in her eyes. Her favorite child is finally happy with his little (unconventional) family.
She can’t find it in herself to send you away. You’re no highborn lady, of course, but you’re so kind and gentle, absolutely respectful- treating her son so well and mothering her precious grandchildren. Otto, on the other hand, disapproves of the relationship a great deal, but he’ll deal with it later when the family eventually plunges itself into war. Aemond will marry but not you, he decides. But, in the meantime, he’ll allow his grandson to play with you a little bit longer.
Just your mere presence brings Aemond peace. Comfort. Relaxation. He’s so besotted with you that he cannot imagine living the rest of his life without you.
You’re the most beautiful woman, he swears. He notices the way highborn lords openly fawn over you whenever you attend royal banquets, and how their lustful gazes follow your every movement. It grew worse during your first pregnancy, as you glowed with motherhood so well you might’ve as well been the Mother walking amongst her children.
The first pregnancy with the twins brought a level of excitement towards fatherhood that Aemond swore he thought he’d never experience. He remembers how Aegon acted when Helaena was heavy with their twins, always meeting her with a lack of interest in her health or needs or the babes. He could not understand it. Not a bit. With you, he’s desperate to keep his hold on you at every hour of the day.
If you’re tending to your duties, he’ll always remain nearby. #protectivedaddy. He’ll take the time to polish his sword, study the room, or admire the way your swelling baby bump is now beginning to poke out from underneath your servant's dress. “I did that.”
At night, when you’re fast asleep, he’ll crawl down to lay his head on your belly. Feeling his babes’ little faint kicks against his cheek and palms reminds him that life is now worth living for. He’ll talk to the babes too, mumbling about his day and how beautiful their mother is and how he’s thrilled to soon have them. Aemond takes to fatherhood as quickly and easily as you took to being his handmaid.
The second pregnancy brings constant midnight dreams of a pretty baby girl, carrying the same features as her mother- your twinkling eyes, the slope of your nose, the cute pout that tugs at the corner of your lips. He plans on naming her after your mother and already has the dragon egg ready to place in the cradle
His uncle, Daemon, nicknames you in his head his nephew’s duckling. You’re always following after him, two steps back (a healthy distance between a supposed royal and their servant), ready to serve him if needed, hands clasped together, and pretty head bowed. You remind him of Helaena in a way, much too pure for this world.
Helaena adores you. Duh, that’s a given. And if Helaena gives you her blessing, you might as well be part of the family.
In bed, Aemond likes to caress your cheeks and stroke your bottom lip with his thumb as you sleep. It is in these moments that he genuinely believes you were created for him to find and love and worship, that the gods fashioned your existence to mold into his. He was never fated to fall in love with a highborn lady but instead his sweet handmaid, who was sent to provide him with everything he was denied during boyhood.

I have another question for you in regards to the laena!lives au you are going to write (please forgive me I’m just so excited). I was wondering if you were willing to share any ideas you have, namely what you decide you’re going to name laena’s baby. I know the post says daemion, but I’d honestly think that aemon would make more sense given the fact that rhaenys’ father was named aemon (unless you have another name in mind or like daemion better, it’s your story after all!) i was also wondering if you had a planned outline for it or if you’re going to have the dragon twins be actual twins like in the canon of the book or for them to not be twins like they are in the show? Anyway, I’d love to hear your ideas! I’m sorry if I’m being annoying, I’m just nosy/curious by nature 😭
(Again, no rush, I really hope I don’t come off that way <3 please take your time when writing/uploading this fic. I love your dragon dreams fic too!)
Good morning @laelinc! I’d be happy to share the ideas I have for he Laena!lives AU but admittedly they aren’t a lot at the moment.
So for the baby I haven’t decided the name yet. Namely because I’m debating if I want to stick to the original idea of them being a baby boy or switch the gender to a little girl. I do like the name Aemon though if I do keep the baby a boy.
Currently don’t have an outline. What I’m going to do is wrap up Dragon Dreams first and then start properly outling everything and getting the ball rolling.
As for the dragon twins I intended for them to stay twins like in the story! I’m most excited to write them. Honestly I have been feeling like I missed an opportunity to put them in Dragon Dreams as Visenya and Aenar’s older sisters but if I had them in the story my little Visenya wouldn’t be the heir to the heir so it all works out!
I’ve had a few other ideas. Mainly I’m debating where everyone is when Viserys dies. I’m torn because I feel like Laena would understand the importance of Rhaenyra being in King’s Landing as the heir to the throne and would encourage her to stay. I feel like Laena sees the coup coming a mile away if they aren’t there.
On the other hand I could see Laena not wanting to be there either. Especially because it would be easier for her and Rhaenyra to carry out their relationship on Dragonstone…
I also think if Rhaenyra is in the capital when Viserys dies and has been for years unlike in the show that makes it really hard and really stupid for the Greens to attempt to usurp her.
So I’m not sure yet 😅
And along that same vein I’m also debating which dragon Aemond will eventually claim. He’s going to have to have a dragon. With Laena still alive and the rider of Vhagar and Rhaena now the rider of Caraxes it would make a very brief conflict if the Greens only have three dragons. Really two with Sunfyre and Tessarion because I can’t imagine Helaena fighting.
I was also debating that perhaps the Greens are the ones who recruit the Dragonseeds.
But that’s pretty much all the ideas I have so far! I’m super excited for the story. I think it’s going to be fun to write. I really appreciate @silver-dragonborn giving me permission to run with the idea.
(Also I’m glad you’re enjoying Dragon Dreams as well it’s currently my favorite story I have going ❤️)

Dyana coming back doesn’t even make sense. To end up back into Aegon’s grasp for what? She’s not a slave, she is allowed to leave her job. Is it because Dyana believes Rhaenyra is our rightful Valyrian Kween who is going to save Westeros from a threat no one fucking knows about that is hundreds of years away? What has Rhaenyra done for anyone to deserve that kind of allegiance that places them in harms way? Did she return to help carry out Blood and Cheese? Did she come back to help Team Black victimize another innocent woman and a 4-5 year old little girl. Would Dyana support the kidnapping or murder of a child she knows and has helped care for? For Someone she’s never glanced at or spoken to because she’s been on Dragonstone doing zilch since Dyana was a child. Someone that we’ve seen state with their whole chest that the smallfolk don’t matter.
Alicent gave Dyana moontea and more money than she would’ve ever made in her life as a servant. I’ve read the books, I’ve watched every season the first series and never has a woman/girl in her position been offered as much. So often they’re shamed, even by their own brothers and fathers and they’re forced to go into sex work or they’re given to an abusive ancient minor Lord who already had multiple wives and a bunch of heirs already or given to some hedge knight- like Lollys Stokeworrh. A character who comes from a noble family, has an intellectual disability, was gang raped and is now too scared to leave her rooms. Lollys who has the mind of a young child gets pregnant from her rape and doesn’t know what’s happening to her but she has to carry the baby to term and raise them. Lollys is never spoken about with empathy or sympathy. She is dehumanized, treated like property and given to Bronn a newly knighted sellsword who wishes for her sister to die so he can inherit a Castle.
Noble blood or not, these women are so so rarely given justice or compensation, even though that could never take away the trauma of being violated. In Westeros tealing property is seen as a greater offense than sexually assaulting a woman or girl. You could lose a limb for that, you don’t even lose respect for being a rapist. Even Ned Stark still loved, supported and fought for Robert Baratheon knowing of what happened to Elia Martell and her children and how it went unpunished. He’s known Robert since he was a little boy and knows that Robert is an abusive drunken rapist with bastards all over the seven kingdoms.
Alicent seeing herself in Dyana gave her what she herself could never get, empathy for what happened to her, moontea and a chance to escape a Targaryen King and start somewhere new without his child.
Why the hell would she come back to directly serve her rapist who is now not even just a Prince whose mother yells at and slaps any longer but he’s now a King who has the highest station in Westeros. One of the most powerful men in this entire universe..
The writers need to make it make sense. Doing things that make Team Green look bad just to make Team Black the righteous ones is one of the worst aspects of the show. They don’t trust their viewers to understand moral ambiguity. If you ever come across posts from around the internet Pre HOTD the show support between Aegon/Team Green and Rhaenyra/Team Black was pretty equally solit. I was a young teenager when I read the “Princess and the Queen”and even I understood neither team was deserving of full support and no characters besides Helaena and Rhaena were innocent. Aegon is now known as a coward, when most people pre show whether they liked him or not thought that he was brave. Pre show no one was cheering on Blood and Cheese and calling Daemon a feminist malewife. Rhaenyra’s sons weren’t Sainted figures. No one was calling Alicent’s children fake Targaryens and throwing “Hightower” around like it’s an insult. Criston was far from hated. Rhaenyra wasn’t some flat character, she didn’t need to be to get supporters. The show writers don’t trust their Rhaenyra as a character on her own to be likable enough that viewers would support her. Same with the rest of team black as a whole, they have to show Team Green in the most negative light for fear that people won’t side with Rhaenyra.
I think you're jumping the gun too much on Dyana right now and are venturing on victim blaming territory... Listen, we don't know anything about what she's going to do in the new season. There is no information about her outside of the fact that she's not working in the castle anymore but at an inn that Aegon will be visiting. That's it. Insulting her based on a hypothetical scenario we have no idea is real is not helping anybody.
Not to mention... If Dyana does help Blood and Cheese getting into Maegor's Holdfast.... What makes you think she's going to do it willingly? She is a peasant, marginalized, a sexual assault victim, probably without any family, and a wisp of a girl. Blood and Cheese could just easily grab her by the scruff and force her to do whatever they want her to do with little fight back because how can she? And even then, we don't even know if that's what she's going to do at all in season 2... I'm sorry but I really hated this ask. Don't talk about this poor girl like that on my blog.

I hope you're doing well! Time for another either or, Tin
Imagine being Helaena's lover, imagine her fluttery kisses, your warm embraces, the way she'd rest her head on your chest or stomach. Imagine the stories you'd tell, the games of pretend you'd play - the roles you'd take: lord husband and lady wife, knight and squire, outlaws, Florian and Jonquil, Elenai and Durran Godsgrief, starcrossed lovers running away. You'd spend hours gently caressing each other's bodies as you spun these yarns, reminding each other of the places 'you'd been', or your 'shared past' and making plans for 'your future'. Later, you wouldn't remember who brought the idea up of children, like so many other things impossible for you - for obvious, rather irritating biological reasons. Then Helaena would bring it up again, and again and again, in each scenario, in each game. Curiously, you'd ask her why.
"I can't stop thinking about our baby.", she'd admit, blushing, talking of all scenarios - her hair and your eyes, your hair and her eyes, a blend of both. A boy, a girl, tall or short, shy or confident. All pretend, you'd thought, until she asks you straight. "Would you carry our child...if you could?". It takes a while for your smile to fade, to realise she is serious. "I would, I think."
She goes quiet, but not for long. Only a few days later, your eyebrows threaten to vanish in your hair as you go to meet Helaena to find both her and Aemond there. Her little brother, a shy, but gentle lad, at least to Helaena just barely of age. He's nervous, and fidgety, but determined and eager to fulfill his sister's wishes. Poor boy, you weren't sure if he had ever had a woman, and now he'd have two, because there was no way Helaena would have no part in the conception of your child.
2.
Alys had always scared you, at least a little. At Harrenhal, she had had a reputation. Good, hardworking girls like you knew better than to cross her path - everyone said so. But when the castle fell, who cared what the others had said? She was there, and alive, and she'd promise to protect you. How you did not know, but you so desperately needed something to hold onto as Prince Aemond burned all your life in the ground, only to quench the fire in blood. And Alys kept her promise - no Green soldier touched you, even looked at you. You had food, and access to the baths. Your things weren't raided, your room not seized or occupied, unless by Alys, of course. She holds you in the night, to keep you warm and make you forget.
You're scared at first, but she never ever hurts you, the opposite really. And she's all you had left, all you had to hold onto. Of course you wanted to make her feel as good as she made you feel, eager to learn the skills she had used to make your legs weak and your eyes roll to the back of your head. It was only fair, and beyond that, you'd do anything to stay close to her, to show your gratitude for how she had saved you, no matter how.
You say that too, again and again, but she never asked for anything, until she asked for everything. "What?", you'd ask breathlessly, feeling as if the ancient castle had crumbled away under you. "A child.", she'd repeat, stroking your palm. "It won't hurt much, and it would make me endlessly happy. Some life, after so much death, don't you want that?" Don't you want to make me happy? You were afraid, but you did. "Will it hurt?", you'd asked, Alys shrugged, smirking. "I'll be there every step of the way."
She hadn't included that the steps led you right to the bed of the Kinslayer, Aemond One-Eye. How you'd wanted to run, but Alys was right behind you, whispering in your ear and pressing kisses to your neck. You didn't want to disappoint her, ever, even if the smirk that met you and that glint of the sapphire terrified you to the core. He didn't say it, but you knew all the same that he wouldn't merely be giving the seed for the child Alys so desperately wanted, he'd take something from you too.

Chapter 58
Cw: mentions of murder of children, regular murder, mentions of sexual assault
Gif by @boutellas

Tumblr media
By the time Arryk Cargyll had stumbled into the Princess’ chambers, he was half dead, when Ser Erryk used the last of his strength to finish the job, Rhaena had already killed him.
Despite the strict training Daemon had given her, Rhaena had never killed someone.
“It’s over, sweet girl, he can’t hurt you.” The Rogue Prince held her as a father should. “You will be safe in the Vale, with all of Jeyne Arryn’s knights there to protect you.”
Even evil can love their child, Aemma supposed.
Rhaena was silk hiding steel, deadly and sharp.
Arryk had thought the girls easy prey.
“Gods forgive me.” The knight had said over and over again until he fell to his knees with Rhaena’s dagger in his neck.
“He was here to kill your daughter, an heir for an heir.” Daemon speaks, not to them, but her mother who has left her rooms in a fright.
She had run here, weeping and fearing the worst.
“Did he hurt you?” she asked as she moved Gerardys aside and checked Aemma for even the slightest of injuries.
“No, Rhaena killed him before he could carry out his mission.” Daemon answered for her to her annoyance. She’s never liked him, now Aemma is sure she hates him.
Hates how casual he is about violence, how he prances around here as if he had not ordered the death of a little boy and the rape of his sister while their mother, brother and grandmother watched helplessly.
Hates the glaring similarities between him and Aemond.
“I am fine, mama, we are fine. Thank gods, Rhaena had her knife on her.” Aemma said and tried not to look as terrified as she was.
Ser Erryk was not.
His wounds too severe to treat and every scream threatened to be his last.
Gerardys has said he will confer with the Sea Snake’s Maester and see to the best course of action regarding the knight, but they all know he means, whether the knight will choose to die painlessly or die in agony.
“I will have the princess be attended by midwives at all times, your grace, I would not be surprised if the little prince were to decide to make an appearance before the week is over.” The maester finished his report to the Lord Hand, his wife and her mother.
“I do not understand, why would they do such a vile thing?” the queen asked and only Aemma seems brave enough to tell her.
“Because Daemon ordered two men to kill Jaehaerys in revenge for Luke’s murder. Aegon wanted revenge.”
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra had assumed it was just some bullshit he had made up in his drunken stupor. He was prone to speaking nonsense when drunk.
He had killed Rhea, spoken in his cups about how he took a rock and bust her head open with it.
But then Rhaenys told her Laenor, her last true friend, had been killed by his orders.
He killed their nephew, a boy of four.
Jaehaerys had been murdered after his twin was raped while their mother, baby brother and grandmother were forced to watch and choose who was to die.
She feels wretched.
The man she loves has never stopped being the monster she and her father refused to see.
“I avenged our son; I promised you his death would not go unpunished.” He defends himself and she pulled away from his touch in terror.
“He was a little boy; sweet Helaena has never done anything to deserve that! Wasn’t it enough that my brother rapes her each night that you had to make her watch as they raped her baby girl?” the queen berates her husband who lacks the compassion to care for anyone who isn’t in his immediate circle.
“It was out of my control, I only asked for the head of one of the princes. Blood and Cheese claimed they couldn’t get close to Aemond because your daughter let him back into her bed and Aegon was too heavily guarded.”
Aemma was not received warmly into his heart.
Aemma had correctly guessed that the man killed that night had not been Laenor, Aemma had seen it before Corlys tortured Laenor’s murderer for the truth.
Rhaenyra had been like that once, too smart for her own good and never taken seriously by her father and his council.
Cursed to love a man bathed in the blood of the innocent. It was the curse of dragon women, to love a man to the point of madness.
“Do you think me a fool, husband?” the queen asked her consort. “You did not want justice for my son, you wanted to hurt them where it hurts the most.”
“And so what if I did? It was only supposed to be the death of either boy, Blood and Cheese did as they were told.” He defended his actions, his violence and cruelty. “Everything else was just an unfortunate accident.”
Daemon spoke as if this had been as trivial and commonplace as if one of the children had accidentally lost a milk tooth playing in the gardens.
“Leave.” She cannot kill him, cannot punish him because she knew who he was before she agreed to marry him mere weeks after Laenor’s death.
“I did this for you and your ingrate daughter, you cannot dismiss me as if I were some servant, Rhaenyra!” he was taken aback by her single demand.
“I know.” The queen admits. “But as your wife, I only ask that you give me time to reconcile myself with that.”
“You!”
Helaena snarled and pointed a shaking finger at them.
Tumblr media
She was not supposed to come, Helaena was too fragile to attend or so everyone had said.
But she comes anyways, wearing black for mourning, black for defiance.
“It is because of you that my baby boy is dead! You killed us all!” the Queen screams at her mother and grandfather.
They say she is mad, and maybe she was, but she has never felt more herself until now.
No more being a good girl for mother, no more being the passive puppet she and grandfather wanted her to be.
It ends now.
Everything she has done out of duty has been for naught, everything she was forced to sacrifice on the altar of their ambition screams at her from where her baby lies under a dark green shroud.
“Daemon killed your son, my love.” Her mother tries to coax her into being her little lamb again.
But no more.
The queen has gone mad, they whisper about her in pity.
“He too will pay, but they will make you pay too. Did you think the gods won’t punish House Hightower for the sins you and the Lord Hand committed?”
She needs to leave, to take her daughter and remaining son and hack away at the roots until she and her children are far far away from them all.
Yes, they will fly away and never look back.
But for that to happen, King’s Landing must fall.

The corpose bride au coming soon? 👀 What you wrote was really sweet but tragic!
I was just thinking about how can I make them (fmo reader and Aemond) tragic but with a twist. The possibility of her marry someone other than Aemond has came up (Aegon in particular). But like how better off, as a woman in the realm (one with money but nonetheless a woman), would she truly be. Alicent is basically a case study of you can be in the “best” position in the realm and still go through insanely horrible shit (tw for mentions of pregnancy problems)
- reader still goes to court with her family BUT her and Helaena do not become close. They are cordial but nowhere near how they are in fmo. Then reader is not pseudo intergrated into the family pre marriage. There is no Helaena dropping hints that it would be great to have reader as a sister
- her parents set their sights on somewhere else. A house that can bring something to the table (This has me thinking, like yeah reader’s kids being targs and having dragons is a big deal for their house but outside of that… Aemond is a second son. Reader wouldn’t be getting anything else outside of her kid’s possibly having dragons)
- she gets married off to some old Grafton lord. She’s his third wife by this point. He’s clearly not a good man but he’s loaded and so far has only had girls between his first two marriages.
- things are ok at first. Reader isn’t miserable which she considers a win (poor thing the bar is so low). It’s not until her first miscarriage that things start to get bad. The stress of carrying to term is putting too much stress on her body
- by three years in she’s had three pregnancies but only one baby born. Her little girl. She’s of course happy bc she feels like she’s built her own little family even if her husband sucks. But her husband wants a boy, and despite the signs that reader’s body can’t do it. She gets pregnant again. Y’all can probably guess what happens next
- much like the first ep of hotd, she goes into labor, something goes wrong and her husband essentially sacrifices her for a boy. So now her baby girl and boy are raised by a loser father (shoutout to rhaenyra)
- now onto Aemond. He’s unmarried, still a loner loser (affectionately tho). Viserys dies, and Otto sends him off to storm’s end to secure more allies and a wife. We know what happens lmao. It’s so hard being a one eyed sexy dragon riding Prince with manic tendencies 🙏🏽
- nervous to face his family after what happened, he takes a detour. Ends up taking a turn instead back home towards the Crownlands. gives Vhagar a stern talking to (in meemaw’s head she’s like ‘but visenya I helped you???’). He begins to wander a bit into the woods of some place he clearly doesn’t recognize.
- Aemond had a sapphire ring. As nervous tick, he plays with it. While he drops it, he’s going over his head all things he could say his mom to make things better. “I love you, I’m sorry this happened” etc. Now our reader ever the romantic, and maybe a bit delusional, hears that and is like well ok 🤓😍 thinking this is all for her!
- reader takes him away, we will pull from the movie and say she takes him to the land of the dead. Aemond is like nah babes you’re hot for a dead girl BUT I can’t marry you.. I’m like.. living. Reader is like that can be changed, if you stay down here long enough. Or if you stab yourself or something (now this triggers him considering recent events💀)
- they end up talking about how they ended up there. Aemond reveals he never meant for the luke thing to happened. Like yeah he hates the kid and probably always will but that was NOT how that was supposed to go down. I think he’d super broken up about how he once again gonna painted as the bad guy.. when HE was the one that lost his eye. He probably talks about how much couldve been avoided with a better father. Reader talks about her marriage (Aemond feels extra bad bc she’s giving him the Alicent sad eyes plus her story (being married off young and maritally raped) is giving his mother)
- for a moment, Aemond thinks maybe being dead and her husband wouldn’t be so bad. He even wonders how his life would’ve been if he noticed her while she was at court 👀
- she realizes that Aemond is someone’s kid. What good is her taking him from his mom and family who need him. reader agrees to help him get to where he needs to go, if he makes it so she can see her kids one last time. Aemond is like “I’ll do you one better” he’s already gonna be considered a kinslayer.. what’s one more body at this point.
- in the end, Aemond goes back home. The only person who ends knowing about what really happened with Luke is reader. Things go about the way they do in the dance.. I like to think Aemond and her meet up in the afterword after the battle above the god’s eye (let’s pretend Aemond didn’t kill a bunch of people and they are going to the same place 🙏🏽). Probably further bond on leaving their kids behind :((((
