seems like you all enjoy my rambles! great. anyways it kinda sucks how few deaths in avos and tbc felt narratively satisfying. i think it's kind of a given that deaths will seem less cool when they are given to long-running characters without much room for buildup of their death, or nothing background characters being killed off-screen to reduce numbers rather than being written specifically to die like they were in the first arc etc but stilllll
#avos had sandstorm's and briarlight's which are two of the worst deaths in the series#onestar's i'd need to reread but it feels a wee bit of disservice that everything to do with killing him off was built on a retcon#rather than his preexisting character which was def more interesting than 'OOPS... my secret kittypet kid..... nauurrrr'#darktail's and needletail's were fine bc of that lack of legacy tho#tbc killed a bunch of characters but a lot of the deaths just felt empty and lame. rosepetal darkstripe snowtuft willowshine etc#bristlefrost's death scene was cool or whatever but i have problems with it. i think we all do on here#leafpool's was major but it happened in a super edition that released out of sync so she originally died OFFSCREEN MID-RELEASE#also when i say characters being 'written to die' works snowkit is an exception. he is written to die in the worst way possible#im talking about swiftpaw redtail etc where it wasn't an ableist point. or mains like bluestar and yellowfang where they had a clear plan
