ARCANE STARTERS | ACCEPTING!
Tumblr media
“And you’re just okay with not giving any medical attention to these people? To your own Lieutenant?”
HER VOICE HAD AN edge to it as she clenches her fists, staring at him. She didn’t get him. How could he stand there and treat his own Lieutenant who had been following his own orders like this? Better yet, how could he be okay with his sister being sentenced to death?
She would do anything to make sure her younger sister was safe. To make sure that she would be okay. Kaguya meant the world to her, so the audacity for this man to be standing here, telling her this makes her blood boil.
“Last time I checked, Lieutenant Abadai was doing his job so why are you neglecting his recovery. He didn’t do it right but he went down doing his job.”
She was gonna get a lecture later, but she couldn’t sit here with the others in silence. She had always been the one to stand up when no one else was able to.
“Or do you value your subordinates as much as your own adopted sibling?” She’s shaking with rage.
Some captain he was. Not helping his own Lieutenant.

“Oh, sorry am I interrupting your chat?” for Hanavira
Intensive Interrogation Starters
Quite an innocuous quote, really, but given the spirit of the prompt list…
Of course, Avira Lavellan belongs to @lavellanlove!
“Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting your chat?”
Hanin froze at the sound of a familiar voice, his breath sticking in his chest. The chair, tipped back onto two legs, creaked beneath him, held in place by two Venatori agents. Under typical circumstances, Hanin’s eyes would have widened in shock at Avira’s voice ringing through the dark.
But as it currently stood, his eyes were preoccupied with the blurry point of a needle, held a hair’s breadth away by one of the Venatori.
The man had a steady hand. Just as well.
“Wha–” began the Venatori on Hanin’s left. The pair released the chair, whirling to face the doorway, leaving Hanin balanced precariously for a few stomach-sinking moments.
It could have only gone one of two ways.
Naturally, it tipped backwards.
Hanin’s back struck the ground, his cry drowned out by those of the Venatori and the sound of frantic footsteps scrabbling across stone. Something behind Hanin broke on impact, and for a horrified moment he thought it might have been his spine. But, fortunately, as he struggled with the ropes binding his wrists to the armrests, it was the back of the chair that had given out.
He tried to keep an eye on the fight, but with one eye swollen shut and the other straining against the dark, there was little he could truly see. Occasionally flames would light the dark, but rather than illuminate the scene they sent him flinching back as though blinded. How long had he been down there? Too long, he supposed. Long enough for Avira to wring screams from the Venatori as though they had earned every single one.
A flash of brightness. Hanin closed his eyes against the burn.
A scream. Male. Pained.
A thud.
More footsteps.
Others arrived, the sound of voices calling out to Avira familiarly putting to rest Hanin’s fear of Venatori reinforcements. The Inquisition forces were fashionably late, as usual. Hanin had a feeling there wasn’t much left for them to do.
His straying thoughts were brought back to the present by the gentle press of gloved fingers to his cheek. Swallowing back a groan, Hanin found himself leaning into her touch, the final thread of tension that had kept him together unraveling with the motion. “You’re… late…”
Avira let out a soft huff, more worried than amused. “You were difficult to find, ma’lath.”
Humming, Hanin let his head tip back against the stone floor. Avira made short work of the rope around his wrists and he rolled off the chair, wincing as his stiff muscles protested the movement. She braced him without a pause, holding him steady as he caught his breath. Another voice, uncertain and male, broke the silence.
“How much did they find out? I need to report back to Commander C—”
Twin glares silenced the soldier, who took a half-step back. It was nothing more than pure instinct. It would serve him well, if his words didn’t undo him first.
“Tell Cullen,” Hanin hissed through gritted teeth, “nothing was lost.”
The soldier saluted shakily and fled the room, leaving Hanin and Avira huddled on the stone floor. “Are you alright?” she asked, reaching out to brush his hair back from his face. “Did they…?”
“I’m fine.” Hanin did his best to sound reassuring. He had endured worse. That needle, though…
He shivered and pushed the thought of it from his mind.
“Hanin?”
“Your timing was… good, vhenan.”
Avira’s gaze flicked over to the thin piece of metal, a silent understanding passing between them. She didn’t need words to bring him comfort. Not in that moment. Instead, she just drew him close, holding him against her chest. Her hand stroked soothing lines down the back of his neck, and for a time they just sat there in the dark, companions of a broken chair and a corpse.
“Atisha…” Hanin mumbled. Avira needed no further prompting.
“Safe. With us. Katsuro found it when he cleared the north tower with your squad.”
“Katsuro…?”
“I may have called in a favour.”
Hanin huffed softly, amused. Grateful. He knew he didn’t need to say thank you, but it fell from his lips regardless, the relief of the words palpable. He was a soldier, yes. A captain, to be sure.
But that didn’t mean he was ready to die. Not alone in some dark place. Not without a blade in his hand.
Avira clearly sensed he needed to leave that place, because she chided him softly for thanking her and helped him stand, sliding beneath his arm for support before he even had a chance to sway. Slowly, they made their way towards the door.
Something hard found its way beneath Hanin’s bare foot. The needle, thin and cold.
He sent it skidding into the dark.

“you’re making me think that what they told me about you was right.” For post-da4 thelvira :P
“You’re making me think that what they told me about you was right.”Thelrand glanced over, then rolled onto his side to prop his head up. “Not quite the pillow talk I was expecting.”Avira couldn’t look at him for long, the lack of the thick red lines that used to mark him Dalish still jarring to her. She stared at the ceiling instead and huffed. “No, I’d imagine not.” She tapped her fingers rhythmically on the blanket that covered her. “Before I faced you that day, I had already heard of you. Of this great general who was as cunning off the battlefield as he was ruthless on. No one faced him and lived.”She could feel him shift beside her, his shoulder brushing against hers as he rolled onto his back. His silence was deafening. “I admit you crossed my mind when they spoke of your hair, white as snow, the cold emotionless expression you wore in the heat of battle, but I forced myself to deny it because how could it be you, fighting for a man, no the Fen’Harel, who planned to destroy Thedas.”Thelrand winced, his voice small. “I didn’t know he was Fen’Harel.”Avira sat up, holding her blanket to her chest and threw a glare at him. “That doesn’t matter! Did you blindly follow him without knowing his plans?” She barely gave him time to answer before continuing. “No, of course you knew what he planned because you never go through with something without knowing the risks, without knowing what you’re getting into, and that makes this even worse! You knew! You knew and yet you still left! You didn’t tell me you were leaving. And you lied to Bull. You just fucking disappeared.”She grabbed Thelrand’s chin to force him to look at her. “Did you even care about us, or did you not even think we were people, too?”He grabbed her wrist to pry her grip from his chin, his touch lingering before she yanked her hand back. She ignored the hurt in his eyes. “Of course, I care,” Thelrand murmured. “I never stopped caring.”“You must understand why I find that hard to believe. If Solas succeeded, who knows what would have happened to Bull, to Katsuro, to Maleus. Sylathi has children now, did you know that? What would have happened to them? Do you even know?”Thelrand pursed his lips and carded his fingers through his hair. “I… maybe, though I hoped it wouldn’t come to pass.” He sighed. “Avira, what do you want me to say? Don’t you think we should have talked about this before –”“I know!” Her voice cracked and her eyes stung. “I know. I just thought...” She glanced to the gold valas’lath on his finger, then bit her lip, forcing herself to look away. “I hoped you would still be the same man I fell in love with.”“Avi… I still am.”She shook her head, tears finally streaming down her face. “No, you’re not.”

WICKED STARTERS || ACCEPTING!
SHE IS SILENT FOR a moment, letting the words sink in as she looks over at Noah.
Tumblr media
“When you met them?” There’s a pause again at thinking about Noah’s facial expressions at the moment. Whatever she went through had to have been hard, but she knew that there was something deeper.
“Don’t try to talk about it all if you don’t want to.” She says, “It’s okay if you’re not ready to talk about it yet.” She knows she was there if she needed an ear, but there was something else that was on her mind. As much as she wanted to know the full story more, she didn’t want to pry if Noah didn’t want to speak about it.

“I don’t want to get up… I’m so warm beside you.” for Hanin and Avira?
Avira Lavellan, of course, belongs to the wonderful @lavellanlove!
“I don’t want to get up… I’m so warm beside you.”
Hanin heard Avira laugh softly at his half-mumbled words, most of which he had spoken directly into the thick curtain of hair he was using to hide his face from the rising sun. He felt her turn her head, the bed creaking gently beneath them as she readjusted herself in his arms.
“Then don’t.” Her lips found his. Hanin groaned, leaning in, but she drew away. “Rest, ma lath. The way you have been working of late… well, it’s a miracle you haven’t collapsed.”
Finally, Hanin found the willpower to open his eyes, the movement slow and almost reluctant. “The battle… it’s coming. I know you can feel it too.”
A sigh left her slightly parted lips. “There is always a battle, Hanin. And there will always be another, at some point.” She reached up, her hand gently working its way between them until she could cup Hanin’s cheek. “If all we do is prepare for battles… when do we find time to live.”
As always, she made sense. Perfect sense. Her words were like an echo of the past. Of warnings from the Keeper, the Healers, Ghilan…
Hanin swallowed and nodded faintly, leaning into her touch. “You’re right.”
Her mouth twitched into a half-smile. “Of course I am.” However, her expression then shifted, a weariness seeming to possess her. “But… that won’t be enough, will it?”
Hanin could hear her disappointment. He felt it, too, because she was right again. It wouldn’t be enough. It never was. “Perhaps not… but I will try.” He drew her closer; pressed his lips to her forehead in a kind of unspoken promise. “I can start by staying here. Just for a while longer.”
“Hmm… it’s a start.” She exhaled in a long, slow stream, her body seeming to melt against his, warm and welcoming under the sheets. Part of him knew it would be so easy to stay there forever; to ignore his responsibilities. His duties. His squad.
But the rest of him knew he could never do that. No matter how badly he wanted to.
He also knew she couldn’t either. The Nightingale always had work to be done, and Avira was one of the best to do it. They were needed; pulled in two directions.
However, in that moment, he chose a different path. Instead of getting up, he held her close, and she held him. The sun slowly rose outside their window. Their breathing eventually synchronised, rising and falling, the rhythm soothing. Lulling. Peaceful. After a few minutes, Hanin felt himself start to drift, not quite asleep, but somewhere in between. A place he rarely found himself, where everything felt slow and slightly out of focus. Where there were no hard edges.
It was a place he quite enjoyed, when he was warm and by her side.
Just for a while longer…
Send me a character/ship and a sentence and I’ll write a drabble

"For starters...." Akane began, gently tugging Emiko closer to her before she could get ahead of them while walking around Karakura town. "I need to properly find Avira and talk with her."
Akane huffed softly as she adjusted her sunglasses to rest on her head, looking at the Lieutenant for a moment then deciding to just keep her thoughts to herself.
[ What about you and Ichimaru? ]
"Someone had to do something, considering the kids were in over their heads... Between myself, Urahara, and Yoruichi- they'd honestly think twice before coming back." Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"...But Avira's been out of it since Aizen's betrayal, if we're going to get anywhere with this I need to put her head back on her shoulders." Akane admitted before she knelt down to pick up Emiko, letting her on her shoulders.
"What about you?"
@reiiishii
"Talk about a crazy time."
IT HADN'T BEEN LONG SINCE they were sent to Karakura Town, but Rangiku had realized that the Arrancar arrival was worse than they had originally thought. No wonder a large load of them had been sent to the world of the living.
"You definitely gave that guy his just desserts by ripping his arm off." A shrug, "But it sounds like that emo looking guy is gonna be a problem." Trouble will find him if Miyajima-san had anything to say about it.
"So what now, you have a plan?"

@klumsymaid || starter ||
Tumblr media
--- For most nights, the castle was relatively lively due to his siblings. Elise was usually the one to try and spark a game or tease Leo to start a rambunctuous event -- but neither of Avira’s siblings were present at the moment. Father had sent even Camilla and Xander out on a few missions near the border.
The draconic was told to remain in the castle. He was only permitted to stay inside, due to his last stunt with his father. To be honest, he was used to it. When night’s like this arrived, Avira would just wander up the highest tower until he reached a window to perch himself on.  It’d been quite a while since he’d taken a long gaze at the full moon, so the prince did just that.
He would stay quiet for hours if not for some servants coming and going.
