ahh... so, anastasiy technically doesn't put up a christmas tree every year to celebrate the holiday, because the tree that russians traditionally put up around this time is referred to as a yolka (or a 'new year tree'). and he also doesn't celebrate it on december 25th, but on january 7th because that's also the date that ana usually celebrated it back home.

there are multiple other things that the lazarev family (him, raisa whom is his daughter, his mother, and his brother, kolya) do that also deviate from how people in the US typically celebrate it; but for all extents and purposes, anastasiy is more than fine with say attending a work party for christmas in the month of december and also with friends, for example (... though he doesn't have any at the moment 😭).

so who's trying to go ice-skating with ana and watch some christmas movies with him, maybe? orrr perhaps indulging in the special celebration meal that he makes for usually only him and raisa? BTW, this meal isn't american in nature either buttt it's still very good as it includes things like roast goose or roast pork, pirogis and pelmenis (potato dumplings and meat dumplings), fruit pies, honeybread cookies, gingerbread, fresh fruit, dried fruit, and nuts.

though because anastasiy is used to only cooking for two people, he'll usually make like only four or five things out of those. i mean... considering that all those foods together would make a feast fit for kings + they're just two people LMAO but like i mentioned previously, it's still good!!
