I'm just realizing now that by the current point in the game's story (2.0 in the CN server), Isolde is the one of the only playable characters who don't get closure or a true happy ending when their arc is concluded...

#n talks about shit #reverse 1999 #every time you think her story can't get more tragic it does #(spoilers for 1.9 and 1.7 beyond this so beware)#like you could interpret her life of denial and delusion in the foundation as a 'happy ending'#since she's now happy and blissful in a world where her family and friends are still all alive and well #and one could say that she did reach closure with kakania in the brooch scene of 1.9 #but it still sucks so much that even after going through so much she'll never be truly happy in real life as her real self #and is instead stuck forever in the past of what is now low gone and unable to ever get the help or support she truly needs #at least marcus got to move on from greta's death #at least kakania still found her purpose and resolve by getting counseling and joining semmelweis' department #but isolde will never be able to move on and truly deal with her actions #though i guess that might unfortunately to some degree be for the better #since attempting to cure her now could end up being way more destructive than just leaving her as she is currently
