I think it's really funny when europeans criticise the us-centrism in history education in the usa because. if you've seen our own history education you've seen it is usually incredibly eurocentric. the pot calling the kettle black and whatnot

#it's just one of the many examples of europeans pointing and laughing at the usa while we do. exactly the same #at best it's mildly annoying at worst it's attempting to erase/smooth over the issues in our own countries while doing nothing to actually #fix them and pretending they don't exist AND holding onto that sense of 'superiority'#elli rambles #I've genuinely met people who think racism doesn't exist here and only does in the usa???#yes race functions differently here than in the usa because it's different everywhere!! that doesn't mean people don't #discriminate on the basis of race here holy shit!!!!#same thing with police brutality with pretty much any social issue. we're not better than usamericans.
