does the Kira/Odo crowd (or Kira crowd generally, but I'm assuming Kira/Odo people are most invested) have fanon for wtf they talked about in that closet?
#I am writing something set starting at Jadzia's wedding#and it is not About Odo but like anything set then has (imo) to be at least a strong degree About Odo#god I am so intensely annoyed at canon for so egregiously lazily handwaving that#which also means I refuse to totally handwave it!#but since I actually do not have really the first headcanon for this because I fundamentally do not buy it as a character arc... aaaarg#(it being the TOTAL LACK OF ONGOING IMPACT of early S6 to be clear#assuming a much less lazily-written followup I'm not that skeptical of Kira/Odo itself)#urg the more I think about that handwave the more annoyed I become :)#we've even SEEN them have an actual conversation about interpersonal betrayal#it lasted two sentences#felt right! felt true to characters + dynamic!#but oh no they talked for hours and hours ABOUT WHAT. WITHOUT ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT. LIKE.#I mean obviously I'm going to end up coming up with something but aaaaaaaaarg#lazy lazy lazy bastards#there are many good Chasms Of Implication in this show#two leads. being set up for a romance. talking about. the central fucking plot. are not. a good place. to leave a giant fucking gap#you see if His Way had ALSO been anything other than lazy dogshit we could have gone with the handwave initially that would have been fine#retroactive intentional implication would have been perfectly adequate#however.#anyway I am well beyond useful tags but for filters anyway#ds9 tag
