Coming Back to Yourself..

I listened to the newest episode from my favorite podcast ASHKITTY IN ACTION, it was about coming back to yourself through trusting yourself. This really resonated with me because I have been on an up & down health journey for almost the last two years. I hired a Personal Trainer/ Life Coach which happens to be Ashley the one who runs the podcast. She has the most amazing program where she customizes everything to fit your lifestyle! I am a very busy person trying to manage a full-time job, playing gigs, making music with my band & trying to balance a social life & an upcoming wedding! Even with all of that I always found ways to be prepared & make it to the gym once a day! Every single time I join her program I always have had success, she is absolutely phenomenal & extremely motivational.

I notice when I try to do things on my own from all the things she has taught me, I always find myself slipping back into the bad behaviors & or habits that I was training my brain to forget. Which is exactly where I am at in my journey.. I have picked up eating fast food again, not going to the gym everyday & most importantly I am just not taking care of me in the way she taught me too. Her podcast was a huge reminder that you have to trust yourself.. If you are making promises to yourself & not fulfilling those promises your body takes note of that & will just continue on with the same cycle. Even if it is something as simple as telling yourself, " I will make my bed everyday when I wake up" and if you don't make your bed, you are only hurting yourself. I DO THIS, and I am sure at some point others do too.

It has been in the back of my mind..

To start creating better habits & slowly ridding myself of the negative ones. Like I said before, when I do her program I find success & I feel like I am working towards my most bad a$$ self! I am getting married in 48 days & I am not feeling my best & my dress is a two piece! Which in itself should be enough motivation for me to get back into the routine she created for me, but deep down I know it's time to make those disciplined choices. To be able to make decisions without asking others for validation, & trusting myself to make choices & follow through.

How I plan to get back on track..

I know you may be wondering, well how are you going to get back on track? My plan, is to implement all the things Ashley taught me.

Always be prepared: having food & snacks ready so I am not tempted to eat out.

Journal: Set 3 intentions for the day, Celebrate 3 Wins @ the end of the day!

Working out: whether it be going to the gym or getting outside & doing an activity.

Tracking my macros to stay within a calorie deficit. Also taking into account that my body is like a car, it needs the correct fuel to run properly, Just like we need the right foods to function art our best.

Following through: When I make a promise to myself I will fulfill the promise & just do it so I don't let myself down!

With all that said, I know I can do it, because I have done it before! But this time the goal is to maintain these changes & only grow from them. Each & every time I have had someone keeping my accountable for my actions other than myself, but BY MAKING THE CHOICE FOR MYSELF I will implement these changes on my own & stick to them!

If you are still here, I appreciate you! Listening to this podcast was just a reminder for myself that I need to have grace with myself. I am human & I will make mistakes. It also was a wake up call & mental swift kick in the a$$ to be better! I will check back in 6 weeks (September 12th) to update my progress! Until then... happy first day of August!

I noticed that @qtarts character Red Vendetta had a similar color scheme to my assassin, Death Flower, so of course I had to draw them together. I haven’t drawn that character in a long time.
