Start Banking Those Comments!

The full menu drops tomorrow! Start banking those comments. Any comments made in the month of January or February on any Sanders Sides fic counts.

A single (around 500-1000 words) is five comments, a double (1000-2500) is ten comments, and if you want a beast (over 2500 words), it's 25 comments.

The lovely folks tending bar tend to over pour just a teensy bit, so these sizes are rough approximations. I'm happy to look the other way if someone gets a bigger drink than they paid for.

A double microbrew (soulmates AU) with Pineapple (Janus), coffee (Logan), and honey suckle (Hanahaki). Curious about the hanahaki+soulmate combo.

This is one of the coolest things. Are there any specific rules bartenders need to follow when serving up drinks? Is anything not allowed?

Basic rules:

Bartenders sign up through the form linked below. Then they join the Discord server where orders are claimed. Bartenders (and requestors) must also be at least 21 years old.

All stories must include relevant tags, and no stories with the Big Four archive warnings (no E level graphic violence, no underage, no incest, no rape/abuse.) I respect and support (and donate) for an author's general right to write anything they want.

However:

As the moderator for this event, I review every story submitted to check for tags. Therefore the event will not include anything I'm not comfortable reading.

Are we allowed to make special requests from particular bartenders?

Excellent question! Yes, you can make special requests of a particular bartender.

They aren't obligated to fulfill it, and I'll let you know if they decline, but the Speakeasy will entertain special requests sent with kindness.

How do I request a drink? Can I make an anonymous request?

There's an AO3 prompt collection going but I've gotten feedback that it's prohibitively difficult for some to work out.

You can also send in orders here on the blog through Asks, which will be answered privately if you wish to remain anonymous to the rest of Tumblr. Think of it like 'guest' comments and Kudos on AO3. Just say so in your order and the post will thank the lovely Nonnie who made the request.

All participants (servers and requestors) must be 21 or older.

While we can respond privately to Asks, the requests themselves can't be anonymous (the same way you need to include your email address in a guest comment on AO3.) I need to be able to see on your blog that you're at least 21 to participate in this event.

Okay, so how does the Speakeasy work? 21 and up… is this a _spicy_ event?

Why yes, yes it, dear Nonnie!

Think of this as the After Hours club you go to after the Sleepy Bean Fanfic Café. The menu's coming soon, as will an application for those who'd like to help tend bar.

Our bartenders will serve up the tastiest of drinks, all on request. Customers can pay for drinks with comments (more on that in a future post) with a very flexible schedule, so start keeping track of what Sanders Sides stories you're reading so you can point us to your comments. (And so you can share what you've read.)

And, yes, this event is strictly for those 21 and up.
