A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE FANDOM.

I been playing the BG3s. Did a Monk Tav (kissing Wyll) run and am now in act 3 of my Warlock/Ranger/Fighter Durge (kissing Gale) run. Thinking I'll do a bad guy next 😈

Anyway, I figured it was a good time to jump into writing some BG3 stuff, but I wanted to practice voices of NPCs and such first. So I have some drabbles. I'd love CONSTRUCTIVE thoughts on how people are sounding, and if anyone would like to see me play around with anything specific, my asks are open!

The current doc has chapters for each of the six origin characters, just exploring their POV at various moments in the game. I tried to do act 1 for everyone but Shadowheart and Karlach's ended up being act 2 🤷

Anyway, enjoy. I will post followups as I add chapters 😊

A little running theme in For All the Wrong Reasons is how Tav is actually a pretty shit leader. While she's charismatic, opinionated, and willing to enforce her will over others, she's also utterly myopic and struggles with people.

There's lots of little moments where it's clear she missed dialogue opportunities the player would have taken, such as Gale's Act 2 romance/friendship scene. Tav completely missed the apparition and went to bed instead, which is why she was so shocked when Gale kept talking about killing himself later on. There's also lots of scenes where the rest of the group is talking to one another, playing cards, making friendships, but Tav keeps to herself or sticks with Astarion exclusively. Hence why multiple people (Shadowheart, Wyll, Gale) have wildly different impressions of her relationship with Astarion; none of them really know her, and make educated guesses based on their preconceived notions.

Tav missed speaking to Shadowheart so much that Shadowheart would have killed the Nightsong on a regular playthrough - the psionic mind-meld is what made her question how much she'd be willing to give to Shar as she drew parallels with Tav's relationship with her patron.

Lae'zel is her favorite simply because Lae'zel appreciates being told what to do :)

So while Tav has been betrayed by her adventuring group before and reasonably worries over this a lot in Act 1, by Act 2 she's started to relax and feel more certain of her safety and position as leader despite doing little to maintain this.

Anyway no chapter this weekend because I’m moving and deep in a numbing grief malaise right now. I do have ~2 chapters worth of content mostly ready but I don’t trust my brain to edit and polish it at the moment. Next up might be the gith durge oneshot if my brain doesn’t get eaten by Marazhai plot bunnies. (I have a type apparently.)

I havnt recovered from the Caz fight yet. BUT

here are some genuine thoughts on Astarion from my- knew nothing of baldurs gate before playing run: (from me the Ace with no sense of self preservation)

get propositioned again at party.... "maybe this relationship won't work out, he's way to thirsty least there wasn't another sex scene lol dun worry buddy, I'll help you murder that guy that hurt you, just can't keep up with the horny XD"

act 2

Start working on wyll, he seems like a cool guy... "whoa bud, is this you first romance scene.... by saying yes to a dance... feels icky cause I know sex happens at some point, like some entitled jerk at a bar, least astarion was real upfront about it" ( in hind sight this was unfair to wyll, but everyone was being so horny and the only scene I had was astarions so I drew some incorrect conclusions with wyll being a 'good guy' asshole)

"I mean we has evidence that deals with devils are bad.... or is it demons... anyways I support you in a friend way, getting raphel to Facebook stalk your abuser to make sure he not still pineing after you is OK with me."

Got his Act 2 scene "OHNooooooo I was right it was a sexual trauma 'don't touch me....' ohhhh noooooo. he didn't wanna fuck either????? baby boy, you never gotta sex again if you dun wanna, we can hug forever!" cried a while ngl

act 3

found a cliff in the camp before act 3 with a song that made me cry again it is for sure astarions "wtf dude I was emotionally stable now what have you done"

WROUGHT LORE DUMP HOORAY 🔒😈

• wrought killed his abusive parents when she was 7 to escape with her little sister but his sister got sick with something mundane like a cold and died anyways within the week. he has never fully processed or recovered from this.

• wrought doesn’t know how old he is <3 (its about 35 probably) but he has no clue he doesn’t know his birthday or anything i don’t think his parents celebrated it in the first place but also. the…brain damage from how she grew up plays a part

• pre-tadpole he was in an extremely toxic situationship and with a dragonborn named epitaph who was a Bad Person. wrought wasn’t good either but in comparison to epitaph she’s an angel lmao. toxic butch on butch violence yay :)

• he LOOOOOVES lying its her favorite pastime :) think shawn spencer from psych type lying. like ridiculous levels of tomfoolery and shenanigans >:)

• he’s EERILY good at mimicking/changing his voice. she used a completely different voice from his actual voice around the companions until one day he just dropped it and everyone was like “DID ANYONE REALIZE THAT WASN’T HIS VOICE?!?!”

• continuing from the last 2 points wrought doesn’t understand how to be a Person unless she’s mimicking it for most of his life. wyll is key in him understand who He is and how to like. be okay with Feeling!!! [my brother’s ocs are also MAJOR factors, one of them and wrought were roommates before the epitaph incident when wrought got too…unsettling and scared him off but they reconnect and are like siblings :’)]

• for some in game mechanic/play lore a BIG defining thing was he let astarion kill him when drinking his blood. wrought SOMEHOW hasn’t died after living so stupid and dangerously (and being yknow homeless. yay urchin bg) and basically has no fear of death now as long as its weird and for a bit or something. just very curious and unfazed by the whole deal and thought it would be cool to see what would happen if a vampire drank all his blood. wasn’t even mad @ astarion the next day which i think freaked astarion out a bit because well. thats weird wrought!!!!

• wyll is wrought’s first REAL relationship he’s NEVER had these feelings!!!! he slept with people all the time (milfs mostly bc they are obsessed with her 😌) whether for fun or mostly to get info/steal from people lmao…the closest to a “relationship” was epitaph which was bad and fucked up in every way and wouldve gotten wrought killed if epitaph hadn’t just happened to die

• besides wyll, wrought’s best friend is astarion and they are VERY codependent and sooo fucking weird together they make me want to cry <3

• need to talk more about just wyllwrought but they are t4t. this is essential. <3 <3

• most importantly wrought has a giant dick. <3

7 hrs into my durge playthrough, and it is chaos

Spoilers ahoy!

Recruited 3 ogres in the blighted village and promptly forgot I could summon them to help me in every fight since

Told Raphael to shove his deal

Fed Gale a magic necklace

Killed the tiefling bard and successfully hid her body so nobody ever found out

Met Auntie Ethel, let her take my left eye bc I won't deal with devils, but hags? Why not! Stole one of her masks...

Put on said mask in camp - big mistake HUGE! Lae'zel had to kill me, then Astarion revived me, and I quickly took the mask tf off

Lae'zel, true to form, said liked my scent bc I am being horrible to everyone, so she said she would bang me (spoiler alert: she never gets the chance).

Fed Gale some magic gloves I had been using for myself - sacrifices have to he made 4 luv ❤️

Obviously, I took Gale, Astarion & Shadowheart with me to get Lovitar's love - they all really enjoyed it (even Gale, he didn't say anything, but I know he was blushing back there) 😈

Sold the evil mask first chance I got in the goblin camp

Sided with the goblins, Wyll insta left the chat before I ever found Karlach

Gale was super upset at the party about all the murder but I convinced him it was for the best and somehow he still actually likes me afterwards

Pissed Shadowheart off at the party bc I said I would bang Astarion first and had to babysit her drunk ass by the fire until she passed out

Had to beg Minthara to bang me bc I told Astarion I would bang him after telling her I would bang her - it was a whole thing

69nd with Minthara - hot

Felt like a new woman after that, so changed my hair in the mirror

Fed Gale magic boots that Astarion had been wearing

Gale told everyone the next day he's a ticking time bomb. I told him it was alright because I think he's pretty, and I want to ruin him, so I have to get that approval up

Went back to the Emerald Grove to loot every corpse I could find

Still level 4 at this point so started running around grinding to level up for the underdark or the mountain pass

Astarion finally tried to bite me in camp after 6 hours of gameplay lmao! Obviously, I let him ❤️

Lae'zel & Shadowheart fought, I told them to calm down and then wake up to Shadowheart with a knife to Lae'zel's throat. Persuasion failed, and she stabbed Lae'zel right in the neck, so she's super dead now

Immediately after this, I got a romance dialogue option for Shadowheart, so she's going to find me at camp when it's quiet later, I guess! There's nothing like murdering your rival to get u going!

Gale was like aw that's really sad, anyway! Re: the murder of Lae'zel

I'm a bit scared to see how this progresses tbh...
