i'd make a poll to see who earns the honor of being the one to lovingly take apart a one-off monster malleus, but i think there would be two votes at most
nsf workplace text under cut (nothing explicit)
me @ myself: work on the housefucking fic. where is it
myself @ me: write a different, elaborate au for the sole purpose of describing a fucked out monster malleus instead
#beloved mutuals. would you even agree#the few ships i am coming around to are. unconventional#one would be spared on the grounds of i cannot write the character in question to save my life#and also he would be smart enough not to get himself into a situation in which a monster has become enamored with him#anyway. other than that i just enjoy that rook is a menace on purpose#blond first week of december sagittarius solidarity. or something#...but i did just write for rook. and i have exhausted my excuse of avoiding his dialogue.#writing tip: if you don't want to make rook talk then you can occupy his mouth#i'm good at purple prose and floral dialogue but alas i speak no french#anyway. other than rook... i don't really have an opinion on leona. it's fun that they hate each other.#but he doesn't work for the scene i have in mind. a little too harsh. this does not call for claws.#trey is off the table even if he suits the role a little more because i also just wrote him and he would not participate anyway#he would leave. he would walk out of this encounter. i respect this. i could never#no one fits the scene perfectly which is. annoying#i need someone relatively removed from the public eye but also not very harsh in presence but also#they have to top the monster. they have to dom the monster. the monster is pathetic and enamored and needs a guiding hand#so we run out of options a little too quickly#“vincent you already had this issue and fixed it by letting the reader fuck him” what if i don't want to do that again#what if that wasn't using the reader to fill an empty character but rather a self-insert#because i could not fathom putting anyone through the ordeal of fucking a character i found deeply annoying and horrifically bland#i cannot stress how little i cared for malleus prior to the fae deal in question#...and for months afterward#anyway. who the fuck is gonna ruin the monster because oh my god someone has to#rollo can't do it because he'd be so terrible at it that the scene would fall apart#vil is too fucking famous god why does he have to be famous be could have been perfect#something something blessed by a fae on two accounts#seriously. what the fuck is that about. excuse me#i know neither is really for vil's sake but it keeps happening to vil specifically#in an ideal world we would continue the pattern and have an interrupted / recovered but altered blessing to round out another reference#anyway. i'll figure it out

Just saw the worst character takes in a reblog thread. Did they forget that deuce spade loves his mom? Did they forget that Jack is one of the guys that doesn't randomly pick fights with anybody? Did they forget that vil only lectures people who don't do their work? That vil's whole premise is beauty in different aspects and not just physical, to do the best you can and improve? Did we read the same game and see the same characters? I can kinda understand those attitudes towards epel and ace but really?? jack and deuce??? A beastman- race whose main thing is that they are raised to respect women especially strong women- who is also one of the ones who is actually nice to folks in game and deuce who literally started trying to get his life around specifically for his mom??? Also none of em would slut shame you???? Everyone can have their own opinions but i kinda wonder if we both read the same characters??? I know guys can act like that in real life and offline, but also this is specifically wonderland where people can be an ass but also every guy in canon knows how to put on makeup and skincare and the guys dance in a star dress with ribbons for a holiday. I'm sorry y'all were bullied but also these characters aren't those people and in canon have never really acted that way. Don't get me wrong nearly all have a mean streak, some more than others with rook, deuce, and kalim being some of the few who aren't outright or even passive aggressive to game Canon Yuu in the beginning. (Technically Jack also isn't aggressive and he's just kinda hanging out and also initially doesn't want to help which is understandable but he's definitely not as welcoming as the first three). But even those with a mean streak are more likely to pick at your abilities/intelligence, dress, and behavior rather than the stuff some folks think they would pick at. An npc might bully you for not throwing a punch, not talking back, or not doing well in class. They might not make fun of you for certain gender stereotypes but they might make fun of the way you dress if they don't think it goes together or if your liner isn't on right (especially ace) or maybe height but definitely not the stuff y'all are saying they would??? Also vil canonically dresses in gender non-conforming way, he doesn't give a flying fuck about gender and even lectures epel about it during dance training when epel complains about feminine movements. Anyways long story short, NRC boys are equal opportunity haters at worst and snarky gossipy friends at best (ride or die for all of em if they're your friends). Most aren't gonna really care about your gender. Arguably leona might be more polite initially depending but he also is more polite in general to those who are polite and respectful to him (which is also why he gets mad at the ghost bride cause of the whole ghost wedding debacle and gets annoyed with his sister-in-law for making him go to his home for cloud calling). Only reason we don't really see him being polite often to others is because nearly every character he's ever had an interaction with has lectured him, berated him or said some passive aggressive snide remark to him (usually about him being lazy). There have been very few folks who were chill to Leona to be honest.

Hi! As someone who played your quotev match-up quiz (and had a lot of fun with it), I’m kind of curious if your opinion on it has changed any now. I could tell from your posts that you value accuracy to canon when dealing with fan content about characters, so I was curious to see if the new character information released since 2022 has affected how you view it.
Sorry if this came off as rude or repetitive in any way. 😅
Dw it's not rude at all! I love to ramble on and on about my projects and characterization anyway, and I'll really glad you enjoyed it! It also fuels my ego a little to hear that you can tell lol.
I'm curious to know who was your top 3 and how accurate you thought it was, was it surprising in any way? If you don't mind ofc, I just love being nosy about what people think of my stuff lol.
I'm inviting you to ramble along with me!
To be honest, that quiz was always meant to be more on the wish fulfillment side for the readers, because that kind of quiz is usually taken by younger, more sensitive people as a whole and it's hard to do more nuanced takes in that format.
I also can't really have my usual interests be more obvious like I can on tumblr and AO3.
It was kind of my way of trying to do what older fans had done for me back in the Quizilla days. (RIP Quizilla, gone but never forgotten.) I actually preferred the edgy, in-character variants even back then, but the TWST fandom on tumblr is very...
Let's just say I'm very hesitant to interact with most TWST fans first, unless they post similar things, and that I've gotten anon hate just for posting that quiz while being a yandere/OBM!/adult (as in age) writer.
That being said, the point allocation was intended to be fairly accurate without any cheat answers, and I didn't wanna sugar coat the results too much.
Some characters are easier to "game" than others, and some have broader or more niche tastes, but if you're not careful you could get Sebek or Vil instead of Riddle for example.
Also, Idia and Jade are pickier than Rook and Floyd and the points try to take into account what the player would want as well.
I've adjusted the point spread a lot since then at different times.
A tiny bit due to new characterizations, but mostly because the point spread system is annoying to work with and because I realized not everyone will read the questions and answers the same way.
You also can't do negatives, which would've helped the quiz be a lot more accurate, but what can you do?
I actually really regret accidentally contributing to the whole "crybaby" Azul and thought about it re-doing his result soon after posting.
I've actually been thinking about it again recently, but I kinda don't want to take away what people are used to either.
I had initially thought that was a joke/affectionate bullying, but I found out not too long after that a lot of people seem to genuinely think that Azul cries over everything, despite canon saying that he's changed.
It seems like poor Azul has been hit with a double dose of woobification and ukeification by the fandom, and I'm not a fan. He's a pos (affectionate) like the rest of them, and I'd like him less if he wasn't.
Tbh, I actually think he's one of the most morally bankrupt in the entire cast, along with the Tweels and Leona. Like, he's dealing in literal, violence enforced slavery whereas Jamil is trying to escape it for example.
(I also hate what the Eng localization has done to poor Jamil, but that's another rant.)
Also, Rook has said a lot of questionable things to Vil and I'm unsure as to what the intentions were. Like, is Rook negging Vil when he points out millimeters of weight gain? Is it supposed to be a normal, "positive" thing because Japan loves to glorify EDs?
It makes the VDC thing look really bad too, not the actual vote itself, but all of his other actions imo.
I'm leaning towards Rook being manipulative tbh, because he has a pattern of it, already really disrespects non-humans, and is very socially savvy and close to Vil. (This isn't bashing btw, I still love Rook as a character.)
Otherwise, not much has changed other than me getting more comfortable with the characters and fandom I suppose?
I'm guessing you're caught up as an Idia fan? Good choice btw, and if you are the one that sent the Idia ask dw, I'll try my best to fulfil it too.
Tbh, I'm actually really disappointed that his parents are actually really cutesy. And, speaking as vaguely as possible, I honestly don't like the new fae lore in Ch 7 either.
I feel like Yana has suddenly decided to start downplaying the more serious, heavy tones and I'm not quite sure why? Maybe to ease players into a slightly more romantic slice of life continuation after the main story ends?
Idk maybe it was always planned, but I feel like it makes Idia seem a bit more like a generic whiny teenager. I still love him, but I choose to ignore that part of canon and give him more distant parents who are still struggling with grief and their work.
But feel free to disagree, I don't mind at all. It's just nice to have someone to talk about TWST with too!
