went to dinner with my mother where we babbled about french history for like half the meal so now i wanna talk about things no one i know would understand
#personal#anyway my tears ricochet by taylor swift is louis philippe coded which i know sounds insane but it's true#'i can go anywhere i want just not home' he went to england he went to the americas and met hamilton#he went to italy and literally met his life but like#he was exiled from his home at NINETEEN and he only was able to get back to france twenty one years later#two of his brothers died with him while they were all in exile#how often was he on a ship going to some country or another and leaving family behind (cuz he couldn't stay with his sister or mother)#thinking about wanting to go home and how the politics of the region meant that he literally couldn't#like yeah there was some good he got married he had kids he was happy in palermo and with his family#but is that home? is your wife's country that she herself had to run to after political upheaval in her own hometown YOUR home?#unfortunately i'm entering brainrot for smth literally no one i know in any way cares about i suffer more than jesus
