Copper King is really good i've been really enjoying using this tournament to discover new music. so glad you already know the extra lens i see so little abt them online and like.. The Mountain Goats are popular (obviously some of the discography more so) but The Extra Lens is so slept on. Nothing Painted Blue is also slept on In My Opinion, and The Extra Lens is such a nice marrying of indie styles aaugh.

no but no but when I submitted The Extra Lens I wanted to make sure I kept them seperate from The Mountain Goats. Because while tmg fans would almost definitely enjoy their music, I feel like the other half of the band wouldn't get as appreciated. I think despite the tell vocal style, The Extra Lens can well stand on its own merit and I wanted to showcase that to people looking for a new niche band to listen to!

ANYWAY SORRY this is sweet you're sweet Copper King is sweet. I'm glad I made it past round 1, basically solo repping my band- As dramatic as missing the submission window over and over was, I'm just happy I got in.

Things said about Copper King: we met on tumblr in 2013 and the first time i heard them sing i knew it was only a matter of time before their music joined the ranks of widely beloved indie classics. it’s been almost a decade since then and that time has yet to come but the amount of growth in their craft has done nothing to deter my certainty that they have whatever “it” factor there is out there found only in stars. their lyricism, their voice, the instrumental parts of each song—i’m not the smartest about music but it’s like everything they do is crafted with magic. their song cavity has been my #1 spotify song every year since it came out and the only thing that’ll ever dethrone it is a song that’s currently only availible on patreon. their voice is like a spell that dissolves anxiety and stress. i saw a video of them performing at a college party once, in a crowded room, conversation ongoing between most of the people there; as soon as they started singing, it’s like the room had been enchanted, nobody able to do anything but pay attention to their performance. also, that’s my best friend in the entire world and i love them so much.
