oh hey, so now that we've seen how angry & violent John was even before Mary’s death, it’s canon that Alastair was lying when he claimed John didn’t break in 100 years, right? like first of all, I don’t believe they even bothered trying to break him since John was never a Righteous Man, but also, even if they had, John would have told himself these souls were in Hell so they deserved whatever they got & picked up the knife on the very first day
