i love writing media metas, but i love writing specific character metas more, and i especially love going back and reading metas because then it truly gets highlighted, how much the process of understanding a character is a process of projection and understanding yourself by the proxy of a character. I fucking love it when i read through my character metas and can acutely see how much of it is me filling the empty spaces of a character with what i am because there's just enough shared ground between us for me to be able to fit the outline of the character and write into all the blank spaces in them.
#This is also the reason i have the time of my life listening to other writers talk about a character on both textual level#and on a more foundational level#because girlie this is not about the blorbo. we both know it#i guess most people would look at the puppet but i almost never look at the pupper i'm busy loving the puppeteer#it's a very lovely activity to me; getting to know people through the ways they love a fictional character#anyway i've been rereading my Bruce Wayne metas and this whole thing is hilarious#like on comic level Joker's ENTP ass is so mecoded it's fucking annoying. I dont like the nihilism often attributed to him#but the romanticism and the expressiveness; the borderline obsessive need to break through socially revered concepts and paradigms;#the constant questioning of Batman's worldviews and the constant questioning of his own questions and his fear of look back into the past#he's so me it's not even funny. :[ makes me feel like a fucking cliche#but Bruce? especially Gotham TV Bruce?? i was constantly spidermans pointing meme at the writers#Because Gotham TV achieved the miracle of having too many enneagram 4/enneagram 5s on team and it fucking shows#Like Bruce's E5 ass written by an actual E5 is An Experience. trips you most motherfuckerly
