imagine a world where ppl did use drugs like heroin the same way as we use alcohol. like i only do h when other people are doing it, really. i only do h on the weekends. i do h after work every day to relax. i mean, people do use heroin like that actually, it's just that that behavior descends into addiction more quickly with illicit drugs due to the social situations and stigma surrounding them

#which is why i kinda dislike when people say like 'alcohol is such a problem BECAUSE it's accepted'#like yeah less people would drink if it was illegal/unaccepted but i imagine active alcohol addiction rates would spike #as would alcohol-related deaths and of course the crime surrounding attainment and distribution of it #idk i guess we have this data from prohibition era so i don't need to speculate i can access the troof..#anyway i think it's more accurate and appropriate to just say alcohol addiction is unique due to its acceptance in society
