they just don't disassemble castles and rebuild them in different countries like they used to 😔
#idk how often that really happened but there's one in massachsetts and i think thats really cool#and every time i see a hideous mcmansion somewhere im like you could have rescued and restored a crumbling palace smh 🙄#definition of more money thn taste#give your millions to ME you're spending it WRONG#anyway my country doesn't have any castles unless millionaires do this and thats not something they do anymore#and im not driving to massachusetts#im sure there's other examples but that's the closest#also on a more practical scale rich people in my area could rescue the abandoned mansions from detroit and move them across the country#its not even That far away#and many of them are castle esque and beautiful#fortunately i dont see mcmansions in my town but when i visit nearby scenic areas i often see ugly new mansions being built#lots of the old ones are super cute and well taken care of tho#anyway i dont hate modern architecture or anything its just rich people's houses tend to be very ugly idk#i do love the local historic architecture where i live it is just lacking in castles#despite having castle in the name of a town nearby where i grew up 🤨#also when a rich person tears down an adorable little cottage to build the biggest ugliest generic mcmansion they can fit on the lot 🔪
