Seeing people use a sanitised version of MLK, and other black civil rights leaders, quotes as posts against Palestine is fucking wild to me especially since Black liberation movement has been standing with the Palestinian liberation movement for literal decades.
Coupled with the fact that people are using use their "support" of BLM movement as some type of gatcha. Some sort of social currency. As if saying "I supported you didn't I? why aren't you on my side?" just shows me you probably never cared for the movement in the first place.
#just screaming into the void#I can write a whole essay about how the free palestine movement mirrors the black liberation movement#down to how people turn a blind eye to the struggles happening in order to stay happy and content#and it why alot of black and indigenous people are very vocal with standing with Palestine#but yall don't want that essay#anyway here's my monthly angry and frustrated black guy political post
