A lot of people dislike it because 1) they hate Awkwafina 2) they think the relationship was 'pushed on the audience' (which it was not especially if you read the original script and see how much more of a 'hes in love with her' thing they were gonna have it be) or 3) that it diminishes Renfield being a queer coded character (shockingly, queer people come in more flavors that strictly monosexual, and you cannot tell me that Rebecca isn't bisexual and has a strap in her bedroom)

I love them as a sort of platonic soulmate thing myself, but I will stand up for anyone getting hate about it like fuck off and let people have fun

I know, everyone hates that ship but I just wanna sit here, ignore most of the canon and ship Rebecca and Renfield simply on the grounds of

A) he doesn’t like her for being conventionally attractive but for something she did / her personality

B) my personal height kink
