i adore your takes on stalia and i agree with all of them. stiles was completely and utterly in love with malia. their bond was just too strong to ignore and downplay as hard as so many in the fandom do. malia would love stiles for the smallest of things, appreciate and adore him every time they’re together, something stiles wasn’t used to and was always surprised knowing he’s someone’s priority, to have someone that he knows loves him so much and is so dearly loyal to him the way he was to her. I can talk about each and every one of their scenes for hours because one line has so much deeper meaning in it always when you look through its context. stiles would get mistreated and judged, he had to be the coolest guy to even get lydia’s attention. when stiles approached her wanting to get to know each other better she wasn’t even listening and rudely said “is it worth repeating?” meanwhile malia would go out of her way to notice what’s wrong with him after the donovan incident and he would just not say anything because he was so afraid of judgment. so afraid that he would lose the ones he love when malia had made it clear she would never judge him ever since they first properly met at eichen house. “i won’t judge, promise.” to malia saying “it didn’t matter to me, that’s why i never said anything.” malia knew when stiles didn’t answer her question about his shoulder that he needed time alone and wasn’t ready to open up, and she gave him that. stiles in 5.01 says how constantly gets anxious

and begins to open up about his issue after she was worried first and reached out to ask him and listen to him again. she highlights how stiles thinks stuff “obsessively” and that means she knew him too well. and was always there whenever he needed that support. malia understood after he he spoke about his dad losing contact to everyone from high school that that’s the reason he wanted everyone together that day, “because you don’t wanna lose all your friends after senior year.” says malia and stiles responds with “and i hope they don’t wanna lose me either.” referring to malia specifically at that point because malia smiles and they kiss. he said “what if scott is my best friend now, but he’s not my best friend for life.” stiles straight up said he wanted malia in his life as his girlfriend. like literally forever. and malia wanted that as well.

that cure scene in 4.11 where malia noticed how stiles was helping her looking for her biological mother, in his board written “who is the desert wolf?” and the second she did she flipped him waking him up in the cutest way, stiles thought she would probably mind him not brush his teeth but she didn’t. and the look on his face when she said she didn’t care is so precious, he is shocked she would say that, like asking her “really?” and then his soft smile before they kiss again, they’re just always so sweet and gentle with each other. there are so so many more scenes of theirs i can mention that shows just how effortlessly in love stiles was with malia. they deserved that endgame. s6 is awful, which is glad it flopped, the ratings are embarrassingly low and for a reason. people can tell when something is forced. and both dylan and shelley were disappointed by how stalia broke up and wished both for them to stay together forever.

He had absolute trust in her, seen when he stayed with her on the full moon when her chains broke. He was her anchor, he brought her back. And he knew she was strong enough to control her shift. And just that scene. Like she, indirectly of course because it wasn't her fault she was just a small child, caused her mom and sister to die because she couldn't control her shift. And she was terrified of that happening again and Stiles heard that, validated her, but still stayed because he KNEW she was strong enough and wouldn't hurt him.

He couldn't even sleep without her! Stiles went through A Lot. He has lots of trauma himself and she helped him feel safe enough to sleep. That's why the position of her spooning him was the only one he could get comfortable in. Stiles took care of a lot because of his love for Scott, but he really didn't have anyone taking care of him. Now a lot of that was because he didn't open up (and in Scott's defense, I'm a Scott McCall stan first lol, he had like so so much going on himself, it makes sense he wasn't really able to keep up with everyone, though he also tried) but Malia kinda saw through that. Like I don't even know if she realized what she offered Stiles, but she was def his safe space. The sleeping scene showed that. And he was her safe space, as established by the chain breaking full moon scene.

Like S5 started and he flat out said his life plans included being with Malia. That was "the plan" and that's when Malia was like "I love the plan, especially cause I'm in it!" Like how Allison planned to be with Scott past college, Stiles planned being with Malia.

For the absolute life of me I don't understand why they broke them up. And not just broke them up, but in such a bullshit way. Like the breakup scene wasn't even a breakup scene? It wasn't mentioned at all that they were done. Even Shelley had to be told "oh yeah y'all broke up" and she was like ...umm did I act that scene out? Which means it wasn't even explicitly clear in the script, ffs. But they still had to me tied. Malia's bio mom legit went after Stiles cause she knew that was how to get to Malia. And then Stiles flat out attacked her trying to help Malia when she was fighting with her mom. Like they were still very much each other's person!

I didn't watch S6. I watched 601 and that was it. I did notice how they literally had Malia in Stiles's clothes in 601 and still had him do the "i love you" to Lydia and was like???

I said, since S2, that if they ever put Stiles and Lydia together I was out. And when that happened, I was out. Which still pisses me off because I genuinely love this show. I own S1-5 on DVD! I didn't even really keep up with it on tumblr back then. I would occasionally check the tag but everything I heard was so outlandish, not even just Stalia related, that I was just like "well this show only had 5 seasons, such a shame it was cancelled after only 5 seasons." I didn't even know the ratings were THAT BAD until like right before the movie came out. And I let out a hearty chuckle when I found that out. Couldn't even clear 500k viewers. 

And what you said about Dylan is so true! He was always like "I think Malia's it for Stiles." "Stiles loves Malia." "Stiles should end up with Malia." "I still love Stiles and Malia together." And Shelley also thought they should be together. She's dropped the "coyotes mate for life" line. And fun fact, Holland didn't like Stiles and Lydia either. No one wanted that ship except people that wouldn't move on from S1/2!Stiles. And not even those seasons!Lydia cause she could not have cared less about Stiles then. They were never even close! Never! It made no sense! lol

Anyway. Yes. I agree with you on how Stalia was IT. And it made no sense to throw that away for ratings, they were never going to get.

To make matters worse, Malia and Stiles hook up while they're both severely out of it in a mental institution.

An entire "sex montage" was apparently written for the scene, but Dylan O'Brien told Alpha Con that he refused to do it because the circumstances of their coupling didn't fly with him. Despite her rocky introduction, Malia (and Hennig) became integral parts of the show until the very end.

I mean they were both dating at the end of season 6 sooo I think it’s natural that there’s probably gonna be stydia. Cause I dont think they are breaking them up after all that stydia built up

that doesn’t necessarily mean they’d still be together, plus dylan was openly anti-stydia and pro-stalia he literally stated he thinks they broke up after a few weeks, lydia would have gone to a different college, stiles was in washington doing his FBI thing, like honestly I know that canonically they were ‘together’ but like using purely canon facts it really does seem more logical that they’d break up than go long distance for like 3-4 years (if not longer? idk what timeframe they’re going for), so if they are together then honestly I’ll be surprised bc it seems like a hell of a reach, y’know? then again if they were just gonna make that reach it would probably be for fan-service and it’s not like they’ve never done fan-service for stydia before lmao so yeah i think it would be an unrealistic stretch for them still being together and honestly i don’t think the actors themselves would be all that psyched for it

and also this movie has made me have strong opinions about the sheriff and Lydia’s relationship and y’know i do not at all see it as being positive. like i think he would tolerate her and as a person he’d think she was alright like she’s definitely not his favourite pack member but not the least but as stiles’ girlfriend i think he’d literally hate her and put up with it only for his son’s happiness and i have my reasons don’t come for me stydia fans DONT

Stalia shippers and other anti stydia's thinks stydia was fan service and it was rushed in season 6A. What are your views about this most discussed statement?

As someone who watched every episode of Teen Wolf from the day it premiered, Stiles and Lydia’s evolution from friends to lovers certainly didn’t feel rushed to me. The groundwork for Stydia was laid out early on. Stiles’s affection for Lydia is apparent from s1. Over the next two seasons, they get to know each other and build a true friendship with the potential for much more. They aren’t just interacting with each other because they have mutual friends. They form their own bond, one that is evident in scene after scene and which illustrates how much they have come to rely on, believe in, and trust each other. During this time, it’s obvious that Stiles’s love for Lydia only deepens and matures, and it’s equally clear that Lydia returns his feelings as early as s3. So as far as I’m concerned, by 6a, a Stydia pairing was long overdue.

I would never label six seasons of genuine relationship development as “fan service”. Stydia’s progression from friends...to more than friends...to a couple was authentic and beautiful to watch. It’s the purest representation of unconditional love that I’ve ever seen. The only distinction between 6a and other seasons is that the writers finally advanced years of subtext into actual text. It wasn’t just about giving the fans what we wanted. It was the right outcome for these two characters. It was the fulfillment of years of unspoken love.

I am really done with the TW fandom. I mean, this post isn’t about ALL fans of Teen Wolf but the majority have just ruined my experience in this fandom. Keep in mind that these are my opinions which I’m sharing and not a personal attack on anyone. So here’s why I’m fed up with both the fandom and even the show to an extent:

1) The hatred towards Scott McCall is just appalling. I genuinely can’t think of a reason why anyone would hate this precious ray of sunshine who is always trying to protect everyone. Like is a 16 year old and doesn’t know everything about being a werewolf the second he was bitten? *Lol, he’s so ‘dumb’.* Doesn’t immediately trust Derek because he has no reason to? *Poor Derek Scott is such a 'meanie’* Doesn’t abandon Allison the moment Derek tells him to because the latter is a stranger and Allison doesn’t even know about her family being hunters? *Everything is Scott’s 'fault’.* Makes a masterplan to defeat Gerard and save everyone? *Fandom shrugs and continues to make everything about Stiles* His ex girlfriend dies in his arms? *Fandom cries a tear and moves on to fawn on Void! Stiles* Saves everyone in the show, becomes the true alpha from the merit of his character *Fandom closes its eyes and fawns over one liners that Stiles threw* Literally dies and is attacked by his best friend for not saving his father when he was DEAD? *Poor Stiles, Scott is such a bad friend. Why can’t he just do everything according to how Stiles wants him to? Who cares that even Stiles himself trusted Theo and confided in him only about having to kill Donovan and never clarifies to Scott that he did it in self defense.* Like I can go on and on about how much of Scott’s trauma and pain are shrugged off because of fandom’s obsession with Stiles and even the show makes it appear as if it was Scott’s fault somehow that he died and couldn’t save Stiles’ father. I’m so tired. Tyler Posey was so good at playing Scott and his performance is ignored by 99.99% of the fandom.

2) KIRA YUKIMURA DESERVED BETTER! She was treated so badly by both the fandom AND the show! People were continually comparing her and Allison even though Allison was okay with Scott moving on and even teamed up with Kira in 'De- Void’ episode. And why can’t Scott move on? Allison wouldn’t have wanted Scott to mope over her forever. And Kira’s story and character development are thrown in trash and she isn’t even mentioned in season 6! Like, I’m not mad that she chose herself over Scott because it’s okay but they could have spent AT LEAST five minutes to talk about Kira and where she was and how she was doing. And the fandom’s unwarranted dislike of her even though the show had made it clear that she isn’t Allison’s 'replacement’ or whatever reasons people use to justify their hatred of her. Like she is a sweetheart, her relationship with Scott was cute and healthy and she doesn’t deserve any hate thrown towards her. Arden Cho portrayed her so well and I hate that she was treated like this by both fandom and writers of the show.

3) Malia Tate is treated so badly by the fandom that even I was surprised by the venom hurled towards her. Malia spent eight years as a coyote, so obviously she doesn’t know how to handle complex human emotions that even teenagers struggle with. And she does better than expected . She is not an 'unsupportive’, 'abusive’ girlfriend that toxic Stydia (i.e. not ALL stydia shippers, only the toxic ones) shippers make her out to be. She even figured out that Stiles had killed Donovan in self defense and said she didn’t judge him for it. And what did she get in return? She was ditched by her boyfriend for her efforts. And no, it’s not toxic that she was jealous of Lydia and Stiles because she was just dumped and wasn’t given closure over it, so obviously she isn’t going to be okay that her boyfriend was moving on so quickly. Like it’s not ideal but it’s not the worst thing. And even if you don’t ship stalia, you have no reason to hate on her. Just ship your ship and leave others who don’t agree with your personal opinion alone.

I haven’t even scratched the tip of the iceberg but these were the only ones that came to my mind. The blatant sexism and racism from the fans really saddens me and I wouldn’t be so mad if actors like Tyler Posey, Arden Cho, Shelley Hennig etc.. weren’t hated on for doing their literal jobs. Like, I’m not telling you to hate Stiles or Derek (which is impossible as it is when it comes to TW fandom) or tell you to stop shipping Sterek and Stydia (There’s nothing wrong with the ships inherently but I wish its stans weren’t so hell bent on making everything in TW about their ship). Only that you stop hating poc, female characters for no valid reasons and stop excusing your white faves’ problematic actions because they cried about it once or whatever. Like no wonder why white men are able to get away with the worst shit while poc and women suffer for no fault of theirs and hated on for things they can’t control; like their race or gender.

I also luv the way they try to paint Tyler Posey as a poor mistreated, sidelined, discriminated victim and pretend to give a shit about Arden Cho and Kira Yukimura as if Posey hasn’t been texting Jeff Davis begging his buddy to give him a job for the past five years and didn’t refer to Kira as “a good distraction for Scott”

2) Scott is neither Stiles’ dad, alpha, nor authority figure. Stiles is not obligated to share his traumas with a toxic friend if he doesn’t want to

3) Scott’s the one who yells “B-b-but it is not self defense anymore!” at Stiles in Lies of Omission

Tyler Posey is just as in love and obsessed with Dylan O’Brien, Stiles and Void Stiles as everyone else is (if not more.)

As for @scintalla & Scott McCall defense squad circle jerk whining and throwing a tantrum cause “Posey’s performance got ignored”, well… they should be fucking grateful everyone – including critics, fans, viewers, the whole Teen Wolf cast, and Posey himself – were too busy praising and gushing all over Star & Breakout Star of the show Dylan O’Brien’s phenomenal acting talent to pay attention to Tyler Posey’s cringe worthy attempts at acting

30 Day Fandom Challenge

Here we go again for my fandom challenge. You still with me? @domsberto I'd also like to nominate @jimonsprettyface

This next fandom is one that I have been a part of from the very beginning and it holds a special place in my heart. Hold on tight and for those who haven't seen it, spoilers ahead.

Day 2- Teen Wolf

(TV Show not Movie)

1) Favorite Character: Stiles Stilinski

Reason: I have a thing for adorable dorks apparently. 😂

Ok so I adore Stiles the most because he is the backbone and heartbeat of the group. Sure he's a spazz and a nerd but he also always finds a way to get the group out of sticky situations because of his intelligent and knack for looking at things from every angle (he truly is his father's son....it helps his Father is the Sheriff alot of the time). He is loyal to a fault and though he has a hard time trusting most newcomers, once you are in he will literally follow you to the ends of the earth. He is a hopeless romantic, as shown with how he is with Lydia and even Malia. He loves deeply and thought he tends to be a fuck up at times he always finds a way to make things right. He keeps the others in line and helps everyone that needs his help. As the only human of the group he takes his job very seriously and is damn good at keeping the group together even when he personally feels like falling apart. I adore him to no end.

2) Most Relatable Character: Liam Dunbar

Reason: Liam is an adorable, scared and confused little rage monster. Unlike the others on the show who had a few seasons to get used to the world of the supernatural, Liam was still new to the world and was often left scratching his head wondering what the hell was going on. I can relate to that because even in real life I don't know what the hell is going on most of the time. He is also the most relatable because unlike the others on the show, he actually acts his age for the most part and wasn't forced to grow up as fast as the others. Honestly, for a young Beta wolf he can be the most human of them all at times. He likes to have fun, he likes to hang out with his girlfriend and play lacrosse. He marches to the beat of his own drum, which I do most of the time. Another thing I can relate to is having a short temper. While my temper is not nearly as bad as Liam's (who as Intermittent Explosive Disorder) I still get how hard it is to calm down once that temper is triggered.

3) Most Underrated Character: Isaac Lahey

Reason: Besides Derek, Isaac probably had the most growth of all the characters on the show before his exit from the show. He had to shoulder alot of pain and loss in his life starting with his mom leaving and his brother dying, then suffering from years of abuse at the hands of his father. After being turned by Derek, he felt empowered to help not only himself but others as well and did all that he could to help people in need. He even found it in him to forgive his father for abusing him for so long, which takes strength all on it's own. He went from being a scared and abused little boy to being a badass who did everything he could to help people he cared about and those who were unable to defend themselves. I see you Isaac, I see you and I appreciate you.

4) Most Overrated Character: Derek Hale

Reason: Ok before I start this, let me just says that I love Derek Hale ok? He is all kinds of sexy and has some good qualities but of all the people on the show he is also the most overrated. Ok hear me out here before you come at me. Throughout the series Derek is hyped up as this big bad Alpha dude. Yes, he turned a bunch of teens into wolves and helped them, and Scott, learn the ropes but when it came down to a fight most of the time he either made things worse or just didn't show up when he was needed the most (example when they were fighting the Nogitsune, Dread Doctors, Ghost Riders, Alphas). Most of the time it was Scott and his pack that ended up saving the day. Sure Derek helped gather intel but as far as fighting goes, he didn't really do much for such a "Big Bad Alpha" who threatened to rip people's throats out with his teeth. Hell he didn't even kill the bitch that murdered his ENTIRE family, nor did he kill the Darach...instead he slept with her. Wow Derek, just wow. He ran most of the time, went MIA alot of the time only to make a dramatic entrance and knock a few people around when Scott already had things under control. I love Derek but.....some big bad Alpha he was.

5) Least Favorite Character(s): Tied Kate, Gerard, and Victoria Argent

Reason: First of all, Kate....She got away with murdering an entire family (minus Derek, Laura, Peter and Cora) and then manages to cheat death by turning into a freaky ass werejaguar when Peter ripped her throat out. How?!?!?! No matter how much chaos she starts she still ends up getting away. How is she not dead yet? Jesus! She was a manipulative person and honestly one of the most toxic on the show besides her shady ass who I will talk about next.

Gerard was a piece of work. He brainwashed Allison into trying to kill her friends, he praised Kate for killing the entire Hale family, he tortured and killed innocent supernaturals simply for existing and used Jackson in his kanima form to carry out his shady agenda. He was also a hypocrite. He hates supernaturals yet relied on Scott to help take away his pain when he was sick and dying only to turn around and train a new generation of Anti-Supernatural hunters to do his bidding. He was a piece of shit.

Victoria Argent was the Matriarch of the Argent family and even when her daughter (Allison) and husband (Chris) wanted to actually help the innocent supernaturals she did everything in her power to make sure they felt like shit for wanting to help. She freaking tortured and tried to kill Scott for no other reason than he was a werewolf that was screwing her daughter and then made herself out to be a victim when Derek came to save Scott and he bit her a few times after she attacked him. She refused to turn and killed herself instead of facing the consequences her actions lead to (her turning into the very thing she hated, a werewolf).

6) Favorite Canon Pairing: Stydia (Stiles Stilinski and Lydia Martin)

Reason: From the beginning when you first see Stiles and Lydia interact on screen you start to root for the spastic nerd to win the heart of the most popular girl in school. Stiles always saw the real Lydia that she hid behind her popular facade. He saw how smart she was, how much she actually cared for people despite pretending like she didn't. He had been in love with her since the 3rd grade and even when they dated other people, that love never died. The closer they got as friends the more you wanted them to just end up together. Several seasons later and we finally hear them confess their love for each other and finally FINALLY get together. Praise be to all things Holy! Stiles and Lydia manage to balance each other out and anchor each other. When Stiles has panic attacks, Lydia is there to help calm him down. When Lydia gets overwhelmed by her Banshee powers, Stiles is there to help ground her. Stiles saved Lydia more times than I can count but she saved him too on more than one occasion. Stiles and Lydia have a love that is beautiful and pure. I see them lasting forever and they should even now that the show has been over for a while now. They are beautiful and they are my OTP. I could go on forever but I will just leave it here.

7) Favorite Non-Canon Ship: Scisaac (Scott McCall and Isaac Lahey)

[Close Call Honorable Mention: Sterek (Stiles Stilinski & Derek Hale)]

Reason: Ok first of all this was a close race between my boys Scisaac and my boys Sterek but when I look back at both pairings, I love the purity of Scott and Isaac versus the almost toxic pairing that is Sterek. (I adore Sterek but come on! Looking back now they were hella toxic!) Now for Scott and Isaac they had their moments. They lived together and Scott always managed to find a way to help bring Isaac back to reality when he had moments where he would lapse into PTSD style symptoms and nightmares. They always had each other's backs and they always gave each other looks that went beyond that of just friendship. Hell Isaac even agreed with hearts in his eyes that Scott was the "hot girl". I believe that if these two had of both cut Allison lose and crossed the boundary of friendship into a romantic relationship they would have been just as strong as Stydia. A pure and passionate kind of love born out of genuine care for one another.

8) Least Favorite Pairing: Stalia (Stiles Stilinski and Malia Tate)

Reason: First of all their first hook up was in a freaking insane asylum so that right there is not a good start for any lasting relationship. Throughout their relationship, Malia took Stiles for granted and then had the nerve to get jealous when he paid more attention to Lydia (who he had been in love with forever at that point). Malia had the mindset of a child and was immature most of the time. Don't get me wrong, Stiles could be immature at time too but she brought out the worst in him. I don't dislike Malia. I actually like her as a character but not as Stiles's girlfriend. Plus this biggest reason I dislike this ship? It took longer for Stydia to finally happen. Let's not forget how she practically walked all over him.

9) Favorite Part/Moment: Lydia tells Stiles she loves him too.

Reason: Stiles had been taken by the Ghost Riders and everyone forgot who he was but before he was taken he told Lydia "Remember I love you." But she never got the chance to say it back before he and her memories of him were ripped away. When he finally came back there was a touching scene where Lydia said "I never got to say it back." And the two of them shared their first real kiss (not counting the kiss she gave him to stop a panic attack in a previous season). This was one of those moments that was several years long overdue and for us Stydia fans, we rejoiced when they finally got their shit together and actually became a couple. Praise!

10) Least Favorite Part/Moment: Allison is killed by the Oni

Reason: Allison Argent was a character you could sometimes love and hate at the same time. When they battled the Nogitsune and she sacrificed herself to the Oni to save Isasc, I sobbed like a baby. It was a way for the writers to write off the actress's character but one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the entire series. It is my least favorite because Allison died. It was a beautiful farewell as she died in the arms of her first love (Scott) but I can't even think about it without sobbing.

Malia actually lied! She lied in 6x09, saying that she saw the connection between Stiles and Lydia! She didn’t. She said that because she knew she loved Stiles, and she just wanted to save him! It had nothing to do with her learning “Lydia meant more to Stiles.” In the end, if you watch Sciles and Stalia memories compared to the strdia memories they mean so much more. Scott remembered the “you’re my brother” scene. Malia got the “I’d never leave you behind,” scene from season four. Lydia got the panic attack kiss! A kiss! She didn’t even get like a scene where there was an emotional connection, a kiss where Stiles was having a fucking panic attack was their “emotional connection” Hahahahahaha. I don’t even ship them and I can think about more scenes where they had a closer connection then that bloody kiss.

ANTI MALIA/SCALIA

I think everyone has a right to like and dislike characters, as a writer I sympathize with like everyone so it's hard for me to dislike a character so passionately.

I've just seen so much Scalia/Malia hate, more Malia hate than anything, and I'm trying to figure out why that is.

When Malia was introduced I was impartial, when Stalia happened I was like hell no, and I didn't like Malia for the simple fact that she was barely given screen time before heading into a romance with a main character in the most delusional/unhealthy (from a writer's standpoint aka mine). I saw the #AntiMalia posts and all I could think was I don't like her but that's way too far. They really don't have anything better to do with their time?

When season 5 came along and Malia actually got real serious development instead of being a comic relief I took notice. I appreciated what she was going through, I connected with her character. After her Tracey and Theo car ride moment I knew that I really liked this character and that there was no reason to hold the writer's piss poor job of her entry and relationship with Stiles against her.

I may be one of the only people on this world that didn't ship Scallison and Scira. Scallison was wayyyyyy too rushed. The first episode? Come on dude. I didn't get a choice if I wanted to see those two together the show said these two are going to be together, here you go, figure it out along the way. Scira was better for me because they had time to develop a friendship before but I have so many issues with Scira.

So I've never really successfully shipped anyone with Scott, which made me kinda sad over the seasons, it was always Stiles I was shipping people with. I DO NOT SHIP MALEO.

Once I realized how much I loved Scott and Malia as characters on their own without being romantically linked to anybody else I was more okay with the idea of them getting together. At first, like a lot of people I was weirded out because of Stiles BUT STILES DID THE SAME THING WITH LYDIA SO THERE SHOULDN'T BE A DOUBLE STANDARD.

By the rules of the show, which I don't recommend going off of lol, Scott and Malia can totally get together because we've seen it happen without any drama with Stydia. HONESTLY WHY PEOPLE ARE SHOCKED BY THIS IS A MYSTERY TO ME LIKE HAVE YOU NOT SEEN A SINGLE EPISODE OF ANY TEEN DRAMA WHERE THEY ALL DATE EACH OTHER MULTIPLE TIMES?!

I digress, my point is that most you only hate the idea of Scalia because of three reasons. You hate Malia for reasons people don't like to share. Saying you hate because there's something about her is a BULLSHIT argument. If you can't give episodes or specific details why look at yourself and ask why are you being malicious. Or you ship Scira. I get it. I would be salty too. BUT WE ALL KNOW KIRA ISN'T COMING BACK. STOP USING KIRA AS AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR HATE FOR THE SHIP. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT. If you think Scalia is happening soley because there the only ones left you haven't been paying attention or reading context clues. Posey and Shelley are really great friends which is why Scalia works and has a standing ground. Scalia is developed in much the same way. They have a BASIS OF FRIENDSHIP FIRST. They're both loyal to each other, protect each other, and kick ass together. They're iconic. And I still don't understand why people hate the friends into something more trope. That's a great trope. Just falling into a romance without being friends with a person is the trope I hate. BUILD THAT FRIENDSHIP YALL! MAJOR KEY ALERT.

And lastly, Scott turned Malia human again. We all know that. If there hadn't been Scira or residual Scallison do you think you would've shipped Scalia then? I was blind to it until after 5b. He changed her back, she protected him from the Berserkers, from Enis at the hospital, he took care of her when she was drunk, helped with the Desert Wolf/Belasko talons, he told her he was still there for her after the Stalia breakup, if Peter hadn't bitten Scott none of this would've happened and obviously Peter's her dad. Like can yall see the lines here? And all this doesn't mean they have to be together, but if you really look at them and watch Shelley and Tyler together and Scott and Malia then hopefully you'll see what the rest of us see. Two amazing people that have come so far that care for each other they just so happen to figure out how much at the same time. :D

Here’s the thing: I’ve heard someone else already tell me something similar, including why this person jumped to the assumption I'm white. What was that reason? In a post, I mentioned white allies don't need to POC to engage in discourse about race. I've shared dozens of posts wherein I talk about my own experience as a WOC, and I have an entire tag about it, but this one turn of phrase and they jump to the assumption that I'm white, despite all the other things I've shared and said since then that portray otherwise.

If this was an honest mistake, then it's a mistake which quite frankly confirms one of my biggest problems with that person and their circle of friends: the tendency to pick and choose what supports their agenda, and discard anything else which counteracts it. They do this constantly on Teen Wolf, picking up on one line or scene and building up an entire meta around it and then completely ignoring everything else that counteracts or undermines their point. They will ignore an entire show saying one thing and narrow down on a single line or prop implying another and claim the entire show is really about that.

I'm not surprised that they're doing this to actual people, too.

And that "if" is a very big if, personally, because of the context: bringing it up in a discourse about race. Take a look at all my meta, about race and otherwise - the demographics of the people I'm talking aren’t a part of my argumentation. I don't use identity politics to put down or prop up someone's legitimacy. The only time I bring up my own or someone else's is when providing examples of an experience or otherwise using anecdata to supplement understanding, not to actually make the argument. So even if they genuinely thought I was white, the fact that it was brought up in that context also discredits them.

It was an ad hominem attack. It's what you use when you can not longer make an argument against what someone said, and your last line of defense is to attack who said it. You discredit the person making the argument when you can no longer discredit the argument itself. And take a look at the reblogs and responses on the racism that haven't been deleted yet, yet - most of them are ad hominem. There is a grand total of one response that is disagreeing with me and yet not attacking me, and that is coming from a personal friend of mine.

There are a lot of reasons I blocked the person we're talking about. A tremendous amount of their meta was already utilizing racist discourse tactics to demean Teen Wolf’s characters of color (not just Scott) while propping up white characters (not just Stiles or Derek). They were a big name in the 'circle jerk' of anti-Scott Sterek stans who bend over backwards and twist the show into a pretzel to be able to erase Scott while propping up Derek and Stiles. They will warp Stiles' character and turn him inside out to justify their viewpoints, and they have contributed extensively to the racist reasoning and methodology underlying the anti-Scott discourse in Sterek and Teen Wolf fandoms. Scott and Stiles have been best friends since the very beginning of the show, and Derek and Scott have been tremendous friends once they finally pulled their heads out of their asses after Season 2. But these people will use single lines and throwaways to discredit, undermine, and erase entire seasons worth of trust and support and friendship - and it's almost always to separate the characters of color from the white characters.

"Making a mistake" or lying about my race, either way, the end goal was the same: use my race to discredit me, because they could no longer discredit my argument.

Ad hominem is a big deal for me. It's why, even though I wasn't using ad hominem, when I realized I was needlessly attacking someone, I apologized for it, on the post itself. It’s why I try to shut down name calling no matter where it’s coming from - whether it’s Stalia fans calling Stydia shippers “Stydiots”, using ship names as a noun (to then repurpose as a slur), or the more traditional methods of calling each other Nazis, if I see it, I shut it down, no matter who’s doing it.

Meanwhile, despite all my problems with the person we’re talking about, I have never once used their name in this post. If you don't already know who I'm talking about because you were there to see it, then you'll have no idea who this is about, and I intend to keep it that way. It's childish to publicly talk shit about someone when they can't talk back because of a block, so I don't do it. I don't name names anymore, and if I ever have to bring up a specific point made by a specific person, I link directly to the post.

And I do this despite the fact many of the people in this group continue to name me in their anti meta, and continue to publish anonymous hate against me.

Spreading a lie or a mistake about my race wasn't the only reason I blocked them. It was just the final straw for me.

I have strong feelings about the future of Stiles’s love life. 

But before I begin: I’m not interested in shipping wars. Stiles is the sort of character who has chemistry with everyone, so every ship is valid. With that said, every ship also has its flaws, and I should be allowed to critically discuss them without being burned at the stake.

There’s a high probability Stiles will end up with a girl in the finale. I’ve accepted that as inevitable. I mean, they could still pull a surprise Sterek, but it’ll probably be anti-climactic and forced (I visualize Davis writing it spitefully). In fact, no matter who Stiles winds up with, I know it’ll be poorly written just like everything else on the show.

Brace yourself because I’m about to dissect Stalia and Stydia. You’re allowed to disagree with my opinions, but that’s what this is: my opinions. about a poorly written show. I’m critiquing the writing. 

There’s a part of me that’s skeeved by Malia being with Stiles. Malia has spent puberty as a coyote in the wild, and technically, she’s never had a chance to grow out of the emotional maturity of a nine-year-old. So when she hooks up with Stiles soon after returning to her human form, I’m left with uncomfortable questions. Does Malia really wants Stiles or is he just the first guy to want her so she gets attached to him? What if she believes Stiles is her mate because kids tend to obsess over the objects of their desire? What if she’s only with him because she’s afraid to be alone? In the end, I think something genuine grows out of their relationship over time, and Malia definitely matures into her own person. I just have a hard time trusting Malia’s judgment when it could easily be the result of a very narrow focus--but I’m not denying that the chemistry exists.

My issue with Lydia is she's highly sexual so there’s an assumption she must end up with a guy from the cast. I firmly believe her relationship with Jackson is toxic--she emotionally manipulated him, and he verbally abused her. What she had with Aiden was a rebound, and her thing with Parrish is more of a sexual release. With that said, let’s not sugar coat Stiles stalking Lydia so he could know everything about her because that’s apparently romantic (*gags*). Stiles may not be a bad guy overall, but stalking should never be condoned. When they do get to the state of a healthy relationship, it’s platonic. Lydia kissing Stiles to help him avoid a panic attack is the sort of thing a highly sexual friend would think of. And Stiles kissing Lydia after she literally saves him from being wiped from existence is an understandable reaction from a guy who’s dealt with Lydia not noticing him for years. Basically, I don’t see where the romance is between these two--but I’m not denying that the chemistry exists.

Now that I got that out of the way, I should point out that I’m not gonna make any predictions for Stiles’s love life because if there’s anything I learned over the years of watching Teen Wolf, it’s that it doesn’t have to make any fucking sense. Davis could even throw in a curve ball: Cora Hale.

The actress who plays Cora may return to the show for the final season. She and Stiles had a flirty thing going on for the brief time that Cora was around in Season 3A. My grudge with Cora is a meta critique. 

Cora’s character was created to fill the gap Erica left behind (the actress left the show). You can tell because Cora’s introduced out of nowhere (how did she survive the fire? what was she doing in South America?) and placed in the same exact peril that Erica was supposed to go through. There’s not much I can say here except that it’s difficult to embrace a character when I clearly see the writer pulling strings behind the curtain.**

Additionally, there’s speculation among Sterek shippers that Cora was formulated to be a female version of Derek--buying into the Sterek chemistry while scrubbing out any queerness. I’m not here to agree or disagree, only to observe that Cora does share traits with Derek, which one can write off as family resemblance. However, I will admit that I can see Davis pulling something like this because Sterek is a sore spot for him; I can also see some executive making the decision because queering up the fan favorite would alienate certain viewers. I’m ambivalent toward what, if any, connection Stora has with Sterek; I’m only pissed this debate exists because it shows a lack of care in crafting Cora as her own person, separate from Derek’s brooding shadow.

That’s my mental block, I suppose. I see Cora as merely a character and not a person. Stiles is a person in my head, even Malia has become a person separate from her clunky introduction. But Cora? She was only developed for half a season, and it’s going to be one hell of a move if Davis tries to build on that in the space of the last half-season of the series.

The point of all this is: GAH. No matter who Stiles ends up with, there’s going to be upheaval. And I’ve set my expectations low. We should all set our expectations low for this one. 

If Teen Wolf has taught me anything, it’s that everything can be adjusted in fandom.
