Hi guys) The package with the previous mouse group order arrived in the US. The rest does not depend on me. So I'm making a post to show everything I can offer. Shipping from Russia is quite expensive, starts from about 70 USD for EMS, which I usually use. So it makes more sense for foreigners if someone organizes a group order to share the shipping cost. This has already been done twice. And I believe there is a discord group about this. But I will give you approximate numbers: This is about 70 USD for up to 1 kilogram 90 USD for up to 2 kilograms and about 105 USD for up to 3 kilograms.

This post is going to be huge so I'll put the prices on top:

15cm mouse. 73 usd for standard colour. +7 usd for extra colour.

25cm turtle. 230 usd.

28 cm 1/6 boy doll. 110 usd for Eirwyn 120 for character heads cause of their hair/ear parts.

MSD Eirwyn. 180 usd.

Speaking of group orders I would prefer not to go above 1000 USD in one box because I don't trust US Customs one bit. And if something bad is destined to happen - I would prefer it not to be a terribly large amount of money.

I can change the prices over time. I most likely will. I'm just groping for a while. The difference in price is more due to the amount of manual work I have to put into the doll than to the size. Turtles are far and away the most complex. And human dolls are less time-consuming. If I make a few and feel that it is more difficult or easier than I thought - I will change the prices. As you can see, so far I have only sold mice.

So what do I offer?

I'm obviously offering mice.

This is around life size mouse doll. Almost 15 cm standing tall and including ears.

I use ABS-like photopolymer resin for these dolls. Because it is easier to work with and looks more polyurethane-like. Mice have a lot of small delicate parts that would be harder to make look good with a harder resin. So it's a tradeoff. I prefer aesthetics over durability. I am not saying that ABS-like resin is too brittle. Many people use this type of resin for dolls. Especially small ones. I am just explaining why I use different types of resin for different dolls. I might consider printing a mouse with the tough resin I use for my larger dolls but that would cost more because it would take more time to post-process.

The colors "from the can" are gray and white. I can also print beige and chocolate at any time. Because these are the most basic colors and I can cut the leftovers. (Beige and chocolate may differ slightly from time to time because I due them myself. White and gray are constant.)

I can mix any color (green, purple). But there must be 2 or more mice of this color in the order. Otherwise it will be counted as an extra color because I will have a lot of leftovers that I will not be able to use.

There is also an option to add pink paws or tail or both. If the doll has 2 colors in it, it is counted as an extra color.

2. Turtles.

Yes, I finally decided to try and start selling them.

They are 1/6 size. About 25 cm. A little shorter than Barbie. But wide and heavy.

There are 4 sculpts. Each of which has an individual head and some differences in the body.

Officially I name the sculpts by numbers, not by character names. but I think the characters are pretty obvious.

So #1 (Leo)) He's my princess >W< Lol. Sorry. This sculpt is quite beefy. But has the most delicate face and front shell of them all for my taste.

№2 (Raph)

This one the widest and most monstrous of them all. He was actually designed to be a little shorter than the first one, but he refused and ended up the same height.

№3 (Don) He is a little taller and thinner than the others. I tried to make him more human in proportions and face.

№4 (Mike) He's the baby of the group. I still wonder if I made him too small. But I like him as is.

Each of them has 3 faces on magnets. Neutral, angry and happy.

For turtle dolls I use a tough resin. Because they are actually big, even though they are short. And they have quite a strong elastic tension. It's a little less pretty than the ABS-like. But it's really tough. I have a video of me throwing it on the pavement.

Turtles have 3 colors. For the skin, plastron and shell. You can send me a picture and I will try to dye the resin as close as I can.

I will add 2 pairs of the chosen color eyes and 1 pair of white to the doll.

I can also print basic katanas and sais in a size suitable for the doll. In a random color.

3. 1/6 youth doll.

This body is about 28cm and is sculpted to represent a teenage boy in a Barbie-proportioned world.

This can go with my original Eirwin head and resin hair

Or an anime head with a hairstyle representing a character from the Genshin Impact game.

(Keep in mind that 1/6 of the sculpts has sculpted eyelashes) At the moment I have

Tighnari with magnetic ears (It's my friend's doll)))

and Cyno

Lol I even made his hair articulated.

I also tried to put a Barbie head on this body and it wasn't terrible)

I print these dolls with tough resin as well. Even though they are small they aren't very detailed so it's just nice to have a little more durability.

I can try to dye the color you want. But I can't promise 100% accuracy because one is the pictures on the screen and the other is the resin and pigments. And also I do not recommend dark skin colors. because this resin is very thick and it can reject the pigment while printing. With dark colors it can lead to a slight difference of the color between parts in one doll.

And last but not least...

4. MSD Eirwyn.

The MSD version of this sculpt has some differences from the 1/6 version. It has a wider neck, smaller eyes, and no sculpted eyelashes.

Eirvin is 45cm tall and is adjusted to fit into my company MSD doll group. (Photos with Dollzone and Resinsoul)

10mm eyes, 55mm feet. The only non-standard part of him is his butt. It's quite wide for a MSD) But I like the silhouette.

I print my dolls with full infill so it weighs the same as the cast doll.

Obviously I'm printing such a big doll with tough resin. And with such a size of parts I'm mostly calm for this doll. My cat has already given it a couple of test falls from the table.

For color - I also do not recommend dark here. For large parts and almost 10 hours of printing it can give a big difference in color.

I don't mind answering questions and taking additional photos if needed.

Nope, too young, and also having my own kids or parenting/fostering is not something I am fit to ever do I don't think I would be a good parent. What are you methods to remind yourself of something important? I have a to-do list that I keep updated no matter what and no matter how busy I could possibly get. If a day is particularly hectic and I feel like drowning in all the load, I take it a step further and place times on each of my to-do tasks so that I manage my time wisely.

So for example, Item 1 can be "Do this report - 10:30 AM," item 2 is "Review teammate's draft - 11:30 AM," item 3 is "Reply to so-and-so's email - 1 PM," so on and so forth until I get to organize everything until 6 PM.

What are your opinions on fake sugar? Do you use it? Why or why not? I dunno really, I don't think I've even had it before.

Would you ever want to study sociology? Why or why not? That'd be great. I looked up the sociology electives and majors from my university and now I'm asking myself why I never took any of them up, hahaha. Does bad weather ruin your day? Why or why not? To be honest no, because I like the rain. The only time I feel like it's my enemy is when it rains on a day when I have to drive, because that shit can be terrifying especially when it rains too hard that you can't see anything on the road.

What is one thing stopping you from becoming a veterinarian? All the big brain, science-y stuff that goes behind it, I guess. Even if I take all the courses in the world, my natural paranoid self might not trust myself when it comes to giving the correct dosages, being confident about diagnoses, identifying the best medication to give... things like that. I also don't think I'm mentally strong enough to handle emergency cases.

Yes, Casey Kasem. My Filipina mother spent a tooooon of time listening to the radio when she first got to the States, and she liked his radio show and his name, so she decided to remix the spelling and boom, you get Caycee.

Two weeks ago, because I was deep in a depressie wave about being a considered a failure. For the record, I know that I'm not a failure whatsoever, but we're always our harshest critics, and sometimes the voices in my head win for a minute or two.

Sure don't, and I don't plan to. I'm planting roots in the Cool Aunt category for my family.

Although ironically it's cats that I'm allergic to 💀. Nothing severe thankfully, but when we first got my two cats who'd been raised as barn cats for the first 9 weeks of their lives, I couldn't even sit in a room with them for a full hour before my allergies were acting up really bad and making it a bit difficult to breathe (asthma). It's better now but my eyes still get itchy as hell if I get too much cat hair in them (fun fact, it's not actually the hair most folks are allergic to when it comes to cats, it's the saliva. But because they clean themselves with their tongues, the saliva is all over their fur lol. Which is also why hairless cats aren't actually hypoallergenic.)

13. Where or from whom did you learn how to gif?

When I first started, I think I had found some tutorial somewhere that I was using and I wasn't having a great time of it lol. But then @itstruthtime linked me to this tutorial and it pretty much changed my life tbh. 20/10, would recommend to anyone who wants to learn to gif. Of course there are lots of other little tutorials and various tips and tricks I've picked up along the way, but as for the basics, it's that tutorial. And also just like, I would like to make a point to shout out Cim in general who has been very patient and helpful and encouraging as I've been learning things, and is always happy to kindly let me know when I have been doing things I didn't even realize were wrong, like always posting my gifsets as text posts instead of image posts lmao.

19. What is your giffing process like?

Well, it's basically like the tutorial I linked in the last question. I plan out my concept, including scenes and any text that will need to go with each gif, and I usually just write that down in a notepad file that I don't even save. Then I check to see if I have screencaps of the scenes I want to use - sometimes I'll end up finding a different scene to use that way as well, but if I don't already have the scene I want screencapped and I don't find an alternative, then that's my next step (screencapping my beloathed). Then it's loading all the frames in and converting them to a smart object with the gif action I have. And then the fun begins!

Usually I start with a curves layer and maybe levels just to get the brightness right, and then I start playing around with hue/saturation and selective colour to adjust the colouring. About a month ago I realized that you can actually adjust the hue/saturation of individual colours rather than the whole image at once so uh... thanks for Cim for helping me come to that realization lmao. The option was literally right there I just didn't look so WHOOPS. Once I have the colouring right I move on to any typography that needs to be added, which is basically just a process of cycling through a million fonts until I find one or two that feel right, picking colours and setting styles, switching it screen or vivid light or exclusion or whatever else makes it look the best. I do all of that on just one gif, and then I usually drag those layers over to the other gifs as a base and just tweak them until everything looks like it goes together well.

Then I export them all to gifs and load them into a post draft, and this is the point where I usually realize that I forgot to set them to loop so they just play once or stop, or I didn't adjust the end of the timeline so it just goes white and the typography is there without an image behind it for a moment lol. So then I go back and fix that and save the gifset as a draft. I take a look at the post there to see how it looks all together, and I also look at it on my phone (I've realized that some of my gifsets are probably too saturated because for some reason everything looks so much less saturated on my laptop than on my phone, so this is an important step). And then it's just a matter of tweaking things until it looks good in both places!

26. How many un-posted sets are in your drafts right now?

I've answered this already, and the answer remains: none. I'm too impatient for that lol. If I had anything in my drafts, you would know because I would be making posts complaining about it (see: 1, 2, 3, 4)

42. How is your gif folder organized? Is it organized at all?

Yes it's very organized!!

Okay so first in my main gif folder I have a folder for everything I've posted, a folder for templates and just other useful things to come back to, a folder my things I make for my own blog (basically just my header I guess lol), and a folder for things I make for the KurtbastianArchive blog. And then any other folders are just for gifsets that I am working on at the moment. You can see in this screenshot that I'm planning an alignment gifset (like an alignment chart of Glee characters) and a Kurtbastian gifset with Mr. Brightside lyrics... I have not touched either in a long time lmao so they won't be happening anytime soon.

And then within the posted folder, I have a folder dedicated to each gifset I've ever posted. I have sort of standard naming conventions, where I generally start with the character or ship it's about, and will also include if it's for a specific event or a specific person usually, and then some other detail to describe it (which, as you can see, is usually a song name lol).

And then inside each of those folders, I have the PSD and the GIF file for each gif in the set :)

I also have a really organized file structure set up for my screencaps! Each episode gets it's own folder, and then within the folder there are subfolders for specific scenes. That way once I screencap a scene, I don't have to do it again, I can just come back and reuse the same screencaps. I usually try to screencap a whole scene at a time rather than just the specific moment that I plan to use for exactly that reason.

Yeah hi this is me.

For what it's worth 'canon' to me for the purposes of my fandom experience is the original four books. They're what SM dreamed and wrote and published and what I read as the immutable and unchangeable.

The leaked chapters of Midnight Sun actually come pretty close for me. She wrote those before the movies came out, so before she was influenced by the film version, and that leaked beginning always felt as though it matched quite seamlessly with Twilight.

The Illustrated Guide and Bree Tanner I always view as 'canon-lite'. Because yes, SM wrote them, but she wrote it some time after the original series and it doesn't always quite match. There are things that contradict canon. The Guide especially feels like she sat down well after she'd written her original books and (in the same way we've all done with fanfic) took what she had in canon and either expanded on basic ideas or made up a backstory that fit.

I've obviously used heaps of the storylines and background info from the guide in what I've written and I'll stick to it where it makes sense and I can, but I've still labelled my fanfic 'canon-compliant' even if it doesn't exactly match up with the Guide. As an example, in my original Rosalie POV canon rewrites she was an only child - I didn't have the guide when I started, and her having brothers is never mentioned in the main series. So nothing huge, but it's something.

Anything SM said on the Lexicon or that's written in the wiki from some interview or panel she did I don't count at all. If it's not in black and white in the books, it's fun additional info and that's about it. I barely knew about any of it anyway - I read all four books at once in 2009 and wrote my first fanfic in 2012 (???) purely to entertain myself, without ever actually looking Twilight up online at all. It wasn't until after I'd written that one that I searched it out.

Published Midnight Sun is a weird one for me and my feelings about it are a little more muddled. The biggest thing about it for me is that it was written so long afterwards (or rewritten) that it feels like huge portions of it are not actually reflective of her original Twilight vision but are a response to all the discourse there's been about her world and characters since the beginning. All the criticisms about Bella having no personality outside of Edward, about Bella being unkind or dismissive of the human kids, of the Cullens being callous about their killings or selfish with their money, of Edward being an utter control freak were addressed in Midnight Sun in a way that didn't feel entirely organic to me.

None of this says anything about how much I enjoyed the books either! I mean, I consider Life and Death absolute fanfic, but also kind of love it. Midnight Sun was fascinating and there were many parts of it that I thought just added so much to the world.

Also, I freely admit that I'm a Rosalie champion and apologist and that colours a LOT of my feelings here! The first fanfic I wrote came about because I reread the books and this time didn't just take the prevailing narrative of Rosalie as an airheaded bitch. Apart from not liking Bella and immediately embracing her as a sister and prioritising Edward and Bella's relationship to the exclusion of all else, what did she actually do wrong? My whole story was based around the idea of taking every single incident in canon (including every word she said) and rewriting it from her point of view to see if I could give her motivation and a characterisation that gave her a more three dimensional personality. And I guess it worked, because twelve years later I'm still here, still writing her, and still arguing that Edward's not fair to her, lol. But basically I admit that part of my 'it's-not-really-canon' attitude to Midnight Sun in particular is that it throws a lot of what I'd written out, and I just plain didn't want to do that after eight years.

The question was based on comments I've seen especially from fic writers who struggle with including MS-related content within their own work when some of it was written before MS or when there was only the first 12 chapters of it. I mean there are some fic writers who have their own little universes that go back nearly 20 years at this point! They've written things like Rosalie saving Emmett in their own way, and then we get MS that gives the True Canon story and it's like, well, did/do you change your own version with that new information? How do you fit in the new MS stuff . . . or do you just choose not to?

It's not that MS is not canon in the sense of Official Canon (of course it is), it's more like, is it canon in your personal fandom world or do you have ideas that pre-date it and are so ingrained you can't/won't change them now to accommodate the 'new' (almost four years old!) book? Hence the "is it canon to you" phrasing.

I've definitely seen people, especially fic authors, who basically treat the four original books as "canon" and the other stuff (Bree Tanner, MS, the Guide) as sort of "optional canon" or maybe "opt-in canon." Like yeah it's there and they know it exists but if it's not in the original series it's just extra, optional flavoring. Sort of the "only the parts I like" option on the poll.

It's an interesting conundrum when a new book comes out so many years later.
