sometimes i think about how roy's career didn't end on his own terms
sometimes i think about how that's the only way roy's career ever would've ended
#roy kent#roy was never going to just let himself retire#bc roy didn't know who he would be without football#he didn't want to be 'some bloke called roy'#so he was never going to take the step back on his own terms#there's just Something about the fact that it ended bc of a tackle on jamie#jamie who he starts to train less than two years later#jamie who he's teaching to take care of himself more than roy probably took care of himself when he was playing#bc i fully don't believe roy cut himself off from beer when he was playing#and yeah roy made the 'jamie can play i played injured all the time' comment#but i do genuinely think that if jamie said he couldn't go on roy wouldn't force him to play#meanwhile roy would force himself to play unless he literally Could Not Move like he couldn't in 1x10#roy was probably a physio's worst nightmare on the pitch#bleeding from his nose like thumbs up emoji im good don't worry
