Every invention, every breakthrough by men was enabled by women because their wives took care of their children and home while men were doing these things. Never forget that.
#started following a local youtuber#who has a travel channel#and p cool and informative videos#and then found out he has a family#a young kid and a wife#and instantly I was like this dude id away from home 300 days out of year#and his wife is alone taking care of their kid#this realization instantly made me dislike him#if his wife did this instead#people would call her selfish and a bad mother#but he is getting praises left and right#and I am so done with this sort of bullshit#men were inventors and scientists and scholars because WOMEN SUPPORTED THEM#and women are struggling w these roles because MEN WON'T SUPPORT THEM#not bc women are stupider or less qualified#sorry women evolved go actually have a feeling of responsibility#unlike men who don't seem to think they are responsible for anyone#this is a gross generelization#but it doesn't mean it's wrong#gender studies#rant

No but... You don't understand... If we all try to shout over eachother about the same thing that just makes us louder... And the people we're actually against are forced to hear us more. Just imagine it.
Latino people: *fights for racial equality*
Black people: oh shit they're out yelling us we gotta pick up our game. *Fights harder and louder*
Asian people: lmao we're here too *turns many small megaphones into one OP megaphone "RACIAL EQUALITY IS A GOOD THING!" They yell into their ultra mega megaphone*
White people: oooh... How about we don't let ourselves be automatically assumed as racist... Let's share our privilege w/ everyone. *They too start demanding racial equality*
And everyone keeps getting louder and louder till we come together and completely shatter the eardrums of opressers.
But seriously? What your saying kind of sounds like "I get that this system is morally and ethically wrong but since I'm privileged I don't actually know the struggle so I'm just gonna not put my all into this cause."
Like. No. There is a difference between understanding you have a privilege that others don't and wanting to share that, and ignoring the actual opressed. Someone who ignores the opressed but says they're for equality would be like this.
"I support equality but white privilege is NOT a thing."
That's what you should avoid. But you don't have to fight less because you're not part of the opressed group. That actually sounds like an easy way out excuse?
The majority, the ones who are better off are allowed to help! I'm sorry, but allies from the majority do tend to play a role into helping progress...
The suffragettes fought so so hard for what they needed, and without them we wouldn't have our right to vote, because they never would have let people know they won't stand for this. They wouldn't have let men know they thought it was an issue. So without them we'd be lost. But without help from good men, who were the law makers at the time, our fighting would have been for nothing, because we're the ones who actually decided the fate of millions of women.
The reason I don't like these posts so much is because it takes away from the real issues. Like, you say this and it brings pointless fighting. You are white. Don't feel bad. Don't buy into white guilt. Your skin color doesn't decide your character. Your behavior does. If you're a racist white person, that's a cause of concern. If you're just white because that's how you were born, stop apologizing. Join the cause proudly. Don't take away from the main issue.
There will be people who think I'm an ignorant white person because of this reply. Cool. Well, not cool, because that means you just broke our movement up even more. Now this post is considered a social issue and it is not. A social issue is the fact that one of my classmates from and AP level course, mind you, is followed in the store by employees simply because he's black. My teacher is followed in the store because he's got dark skin and is Hispanic. That's a racial issue. Not this post. All this post does is distract from real issues, turn us against each other, because now you got people thinking people like me are their enemies, and you have our opposers who take this as an opportunity to attack us and fraction us further.
If you're white and you want to fight for racial equality, honey, I commend you. Good job, you have defied the system. Fight as loud and as hard as you can, don't feel like you're out of place. Just keep fighting and never stop.
my opinions on racism will always be limited as I’m from a position of white privilege, so whilst it’s so important to call out racial inequality and oppression when I see it, it’s also important for me to recognise that my voice should not shout over those who have actually experienced racism and have a far better understanding of how it operates then I ever will
