Oh, don’t mind me I’m just quietly second-hand hurting for Stephen Strange’s sake, having remembered that in the same story where he becomes mentor/father figure to young teenaged girl, America Chavez, he finally gets to reveal (to the audience, anyway) the death of his sister (in comic canon, Donna is around America’s age) and that he has spent most of his life blaming himself for her death.

#any good writer #and good FAN FICTION writer for that case #would have written Donna closer to America's age #and used drowning not in icy water but similar to the water Stephen's car landed in at his accident #to create dramatic symmetry and drive home the validity of Stephen's pathos #my guess is that Waldron did it by accident on his way to make the film more about #the villain than the hero #but at least we know that Benedict #greatest Actor of his generation #will have incorporated all of this into his subtext/Stephen's history
