It was the day before Winterfest and Reila and Emely were getting ready to head over to Reila's parent's home for the holidays. They weren't just going to be staying until the New Year either. The two had discussed their options, and staying with Reila's parents until they got on their feet seemed like the only choice they had, even if Emely wasn't thrilled about it.

Reila: C'mon Em, it'll be fine. My parents adore you and Naomi thinks of you as another sister. Everything will work out, I promise.

Emely, hesitant: It just feels like we're kids again...running back home when things get tough.

Reila, sighing: It's not like we have many choices. I know, we didn't think things through and just assumed we could stay here and that was a mistake. I know that. But for now this is the best option we have--the only option we have Em.

Emely, soft: You're right. I know deep down you're right. It still feels like we're failing though, Reila. I'm sorry but I can't help but feel like we should've made better plans for our future.

Reila: I don't disagree with that. But I think we're making a mature, adult decision. Instead of getting ourselves trapped in a bad apartment we can't even afford, we've swallowed our pride and made a better, more practical choice. Even if it's not one we initially wanted.

Emely, small smile: You're right. I'm just being silly about this and I know it. Things will work out how they're supposed to. And before the New Year, let's at least sit down together and make some plans for our future, okay?

Reila: Sounds good to me. Now let's get out of here.
