a very funny side effect of our never being able to defeat return to dream land as kids was that i knew there was a thematically-relevant crown in the story and immediately assumed a) that kirby would wear a crown and b) that he would continue to wear said crown forever and thus i always drew kirby wearing a crown without ever knowing that he never actually wore that crown in the game

#melonposting #i made so many bizarre assumptions as a kid that went on to affect my artistic choices for years #another example is my assumption that solosis's shiny was blue and white just because a single piece of fanart had a blue and white solosis #and thus i drew blue and white 'shiny' solosis for years without ever knowing the shiny looked completely different #and another example: there was some video i saw as a kid which had kirby saying 'wii'? or maybe 'hii' and i misread/misremembred it?#and because of that i assumed that was just something kirby said. 'wii'. so i'd always draw kirby saying 'wii'#i was a very strange child
