barton protecting kids, including ones that are not his, will always be one of the things that i am willing to roleplay. because yes... he IS a serial murderer and a cannibal. BUT barton is also someone who would be willing to stand in between an assailant and a child every. single. time. if he saw that they were in trouble, because he just can't depend on anyone else helping them. and barton would quite literally hate it if he didn't try to at least do something to defend them.

#OF MONSTERS AND MEN: musings.#and this includes occasions where the other rogues (i'm looking at you joker / hj LOL ahh i'm just being partially serious here) -#might pose a threat to a child though i know most of them likely wouldn't besidesss the person who i mentioned before and perhaps-#if they got really angry or sumthin' and lost control? yeah however it's like i said MOST of the rogues wouldn't do it in good conscience-#i'd like to think bc they might be villains but everyone can kind of acknowledge that hurting kids is just one of those thing's you DON'T #do but yeah. just in case they were man's would be running to be putting himself in front of this kid bc there is no WAY that's happening #not while barton is around anyway. and one could say that this is one of the more... possibly redeeming traits that barton has as a result #so yeah! barton is also going to kick the SNOT out of anyone who tries to hurt a kid around him so i'm not saying that anyone would ofc...#but whoever is unwise enough to do so.
