I kiiinda want to treat myself to one or two art prints because I've lived in an apartment with completely white walls for seven years. I've narrowed it down to a few favourites that would work with the colours of the room but I can't decide... any help?

connections rereleases are all but confirmed . . . it looks like they're doing new shells though which i don't LOVE but they're announcing them for real tomorrow so i guess we'll see if they're all new shells or if they're doing some rereleases of the old ones too. I'm really excited though i hope they're not too expensive. i have a couple v3s already so i might hold off on buying a rerelease for a while (at the very least until i have a job lolol) but i do wanna get one at some pointtttt i hope they do other versions not just v3s but the v3 is honestly the best connection model and also the most #iconic so i get it

Some of yall really don't know what it means to be working class in some countries. Yes maybe we can afford little "luxuries" from time to time but that doesn't make people rich or capable to completely boycott the low costs companies.

on the one hand very big stuffed animals fall into the category of things that are very clearly expensive and a luxury and thus make me uncomfortable (I guess I was raised to live humbly a little too well), but on the other hand. damn I need one of those. give it a big hug. i'll always sleep alone but i could have one of those guys instead of being alone-alone y'know.

Empress Shen is finally here, my God! How difficult was this particular beast, eh? It took me, like, five or six redesigns! The balance between feminine and masculine really kicked my ass here...I think I did pretty well, if you take in account everything. I'm proud of myself, so all of you must be nice to me.

The drama is set during the warring states period, my inspiration was mostly from how they costumed the Queen of Zhao, the dowager Queen of Qin and Haolan when she finally becomes the Queen of Qin. They are all gorgeously dressed, I recommend watching it PURELY for the costuming and also the scheming women.

The design was immensely inspired by the Chinese drama The Legend of Haolan. The main character just has this impeccable Shen Qingqiu face-card, every time I see her I just think 'Yes, Shen Qingqiu, for sure.' Here's her, for reference:

For Shang Qinghua, things were so much easier, though; I watched some episodes of Story of Yanxi Palace and was struck by inspiration™. He was so easy to draw! It's all very Qing dynasty inspired, it just fits him, I think.

It took me so very long to draw the jewellery and the embroidery in both of them...I admire the people who actually do metal and needlework. Heroes, all of them.

The pearl makeup is one of my favourite ancient Chinese makeup trends; I just had to put it in. It's a very fancy form of Huadian, which is where you draw forms, mostly flowers and other pretty things on your face using paints, powders, pearls, gems and glued flowers, and it was popular from the Tang dynasty onwards. The ICONIC pearl Huadian was popularized in the Song dynasty because it (shockingly) represented modesty and elegance.

Shen Qingqiu's greenest ornaments are made out of imperial jade, which is characterized by this vibrant emerald green colour and great translucency. It's also the most expensive type of jade ever.

The! Nail! Guards! Make! A! Comeback!

Shang Qinghua's ornaments are, in the other hand, made out of pearls - for elegance, wisdom, and wealth, and blue jade, for serenity, peace of mind and self-reflection. Mobei-jun buys all of his husband's jewellery with intention, for sure.

They're such big gossips omg, nobody is safe.

Turns out u CAN in fact take a nap w.o feeling like u got hit by a truck waking up

U just need a new pricy mattress and even pricier pillows, but its possible!

#we spent a small fortune on our new mattress and pillows for the apartment #like more than all the other furniture combined #tbh probably as much as 1 months rent just on that #BUT #it was worth #we both felt GOOD after taking a nap on our new bed #and we deff are taking all these thingd with us to our next place(s)#and they all have warrantys so if we rly wanna once the warranty is about to end we can be like AY actually replace this #and they would cuz its a warranty #so if it starts dipping like my current mattress even tho its not that old i can go back and they'll give me a new one yay #and like i got this new pillow from target i rly like it was like $17 and tho i find it sooooo comfy #i wake up with so much neck pain the next day its not worth :( just like all these new foam mattresses theyre so cheap and sure they're #comfy at first but they rly just suck and are painful to ur body in the long run #these boujie pillows tho? if u can- and ik its hard to make an expense like this-but if u can pls do it for urself #one rly good pillow is like a world of difference it feels so good so much better and ur body will thank u #ur wallet maybe not but money always comes back so if u can invest in a rly good pillow pls do like omg #all my furniture is cheap amazon furniture but my bf was so right to say the mattress and pillows are most important to splurge on #for both of our health man im like rly happy about it #my credit card not so much but its ok moving is expensive and ill be working soon again to make better payments on it 🫡#ok this is enough tags lmaoooo bye if u got it this far 👋🏾
