FAWIGJWA SO YES? and also "pending".
tldr: it's either dragonsplague (red eye) or... he lost an eye and the one he has now is a 'gift' (and curse) from a former Arisen (white eye) or BOTH.
(you dont have to read all of this you've just given me an excuse to ramble thank you)
So OG Rann had a "magitech" eye that basically acted as a repository for any and all knowledge he gained. Which... doesn't quite work in DD. But that's still part of his design! So I kept it.
And then DD2 was like "actually there's this whole thing with Dragonsplague and red eyes" and I'm sitting here with my face in my hands because that'd be such an easy solution to reach for and I love dragonsplague stuff
But I also have "secret lore" that... (bear with me here), this is Rann's third go-around in this world (DD2). It's not exactly a time loop (I think) but there's some distortion of reality/time, and most significantly what he remembers.
First "Cycle" is with Reverie
They get pulled into Bitterblack Isle where they met the Arisen Vincent (important OC also connected to them)
Stuff Happened There: Reverie Kind of Maybe Died? Rann might have Dragonsplagued?
????
Vincent and Rann emerge from Bitterblack Isle for his "second" go
Vincent and Rann uncovered a lot of truths about the world and came close to the Unmoored World, but their goal was to save Reverie (Rann's memories were already messed up from Bitterblack Isle, only Vincent knew this because... that's usually his burden to bear, being the only one to remember :')
BUT TO WRAP THIS UP, the idea I'm fiddling with is: They did find a way to restore Reverie for this third go-around, Vincent became the Dragon, and Rann ended up with either:
lost right eye and was given one of Vincent's eyes that "beheld the truth of the world" (as a nod to his OG eye being a repository of knowledge) and plays into the True Ending or
he had dragonsplague or
both😂
(Also the eye from Vincent might be connected to the Bestowal of Spirit from him somehow idk 🤷♀️ This is how Vincent lives on, even if it's not a 'true' bestowal of spirit like we've seen in other versions, granting Rann a will but not necessarily overwriting his individuality. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️) dragon dies = bestowal activates/finalizes
#crow's lorebook.#it's been kicking in my brain for a while but i haven't entirely decided#but i do know in my hc vincent is the dragon#and they'll never remember the prior adventures they had :')#because that's also par for the course for the three of them#vincent is a character who always rails against 'fate' and 'omnipotent powers'#so him as the dragon in dd2 feels good feels organic and awful and bad and good X'D#he's important though he's so important to them they're a throuple in ogverse#anyway this is messy i'm sorry lmao

Trolls Headcannons (Royal Family Edition)
Peppy
°Peppy suffers from some type of memory loss due to PTSD. It got to the point where he had to trust most of the older trolls to help him keep his mind as they all settled in the Pop Forest.
°Peppy started the chant of "No Troll Left Behind" after finding Viva's Hug Time Bracelet in the rubble. He made those who made it out swear to never mention Viva in order to give Poppy only happiness in this new chapter.
°Peppy became protective over his daughters after their mother was chosen as one of the first Trolls of Bergentown's first annual Trollstice. He became even more protective of Poppy after the split™ because of Viva's presumed death.
°Peppy's memory has started fading in and out, making him believe that he went on adventures that didn't happen or didn't happen as he remembered them.
Viva
°Viva is 15 years older than Poppy, being around 16-17 at the time of The Great Escape™ and around 37-38 at the time of their reunion.
°Viva was a huge fan of Brozone prior to the arrival of the Bergens. However, she didn't recognize Clay when he showed up with the rest of the Putt Putt Trolls. She didn't even know his name until they all settled in.
°Viva quickly took up the role as the leader of this new tribe due to her royal training, but was scared. Thankfully, Clay was there to be an amazing assistant and friend. No one will admit it, but she thinks of him as a co-ruler rather than an advisor or an overseer and gives him the same power as her.
°Viva braided her hair out of anxiety, needing something to fidget with in the early days of separation. She also took up knitting and crocheting, making a majority of hers and Clay's clothes.
°Viva is still wary around Bergentown due to all the trauma and mental scarring they put on her. As much as she wants to go with Poppy, she just volunteers to kingdom-sit for however long they'll be gone.
Poppy
°Poppy essentially started ruling at a young age due to her dad's decline in health, being around 10 years old when people started turning to her over her dad. They never really asked for much, but it was quite overwhelming.
°Poppy started scrapbooking after her dad's memory started to go. The little pictures remind him of the history he told her as she grew up, and ultimately became Pop Village's main collection of history books. She did have help editing them after the World Tour.
°Poppy credits most of her big personal changes to being because of Branch. He has been her voice of reason since the beginning, but never really listened until they both gave each other chances.
°Poppy was around 1 or 2 during the Great Escape™, making her around 21 or 22 during the events of the first film and around 22 or 23 during WT and BT.
°Poppy didn't discover Brozone until the Return to the Troll tree where she found a bunch of their records in what she assumed was meant to be her old room. She later found out it was Viva's old room and collection.
Bonus: Ladies' Night
°Brandi, Poppy, & Viva get together once in a while to just escape the pressures of their jobs. They'll usually stay on Vacay Island, but have gone to Mount Rageous on several occasions. Poppy still keeps in contact with Crimp for visits like these.

FULL NAME: Aspen James Calhoun NICKNAME: AJ, only by those very close AGE: 33 DATE OF BIRTH: July 31st, 1990 PLACE OF BIRTH: HavenRidge GENDER IDENTIFICATION: Nonbinary, primarily identifies as They/Them, but not specifically opposed to he/him or she/her SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Pansexual RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single NEIGHBORHOOD: Downtown (and couch surfing siblings couches) OCCUPATION: Tattoo Artist WORKPLACE: Colorwave Tattoo POSITIVE TRAITS: Confident, enthusiastic, adventurous NEGATIVE TRAITS: Boisterous, impatient, impulsive LENGTH OF TIME IN HAVENRIDGE: Since birth, traveled some after high school but always returns FACE CLAIM: Nico Tortorella
headcanons
Aspen is a true adventurer at heart. They are always up for finding the next thrill in whatever form it may come; surfing, hiking, rock climbing, cliff diving...If you suggest it, Aspen will most likely be game for it.
They don't really like to be alone. They'd rather be in the company of anyone and everyone than sitting alone in their apartment at night. Thus, more often than not they can be found letting themselves in to their various siblings homes and crashing on their couches or entertaining their nieces and nephews - sometimes without express prior notice.
They are the biggest cheerleader and supporter of their siblings in everything and anything they choose to do and will be there in an instant if they need them, no questions asked.
Aspen has an adopted Australian shepherd dog named Ace and a white and gray cat named Blaze. Their family also care for a horse at the family ranch that Aspen had raised when they were younger, named Bandit, that they'll spend time with when visiting the ranch.
biography
trigger warnings; car accident mention, death mention
Aspen doesn't remember their biological parents. Not really, anyway. They only know what they've seen in pictures kept when they were a chubby cheeked newborn swaddled in a sweet looking couple's arms. In some cases, their adoptive parents make appearances in the photographs from their first two years alongside the bright eyed couple, grinning ear to ear. Excited for the new adventures that were to come for their closest friends.
That future never did come. In an instant the parents of the newly turned two year old were gone, lost to a drunk driver while out on a date night together. Aspen had been left at the home of family friends, the Calhouns, being entertained by the younger children and doting parents, knowing nothing about the fact that their parents wouldn't ever come home again.
For a while the Calhouns had simply continued to look after the child because there wasn't any other family for Aspen to go to. But when the time came, it seemed like a no-brainer for them to keep Aspen as one of their own. They already had become a part of the family in the first few years of their life and Josephine and Barrett couldn't stand to let them go.
They never knew a lack of love, despite the bump in the road. Aspen was accepted into the Calhoun family with open arms and never knew any different.
From a young age Aspen walked to the beat of their own drum. They didn't really fit into any specific category - they paved their own path. Even when they were still small they never really conformed to the typical male gender identifiers. When they started adopting they/them pronouns in their teenage years, at least to the family, no one was really that surprised.
Aspen was pretty average in school. They got by but never really excelled in any of the traditional subjects. It was the arts that really drew their attention. They had a special eye for drawing, sketching, and color using all forms of media. That talent eventually turned into an interest in tattooing. They started exploring tattoo parlors while traveling and getting an array of tattoos themselves in their late teens and early twenties, eventually signing on to apprentice at Colorwave Tattoo in HavenRidge.
In their off hours Aspen helps around the family businesses here and there.

okay, answer below the cut (and a very long section of extra details about the episodes, seriously, go watch the Sarah-Jane adventures if you haven't already)
Sarah-Jane has never been divorced, she's never even been married, the only guy she is ever shown to have even dated is the one who on their wedding day has to agree to go back and die before they even met.
Now for more details on the rest of them
A woman must agree to go to drown to death as a teenager (Whatever happened to Sarah-Jane 1.4):
When Sarah-Jane was a teenager she and friend Andrea Yates went on a school trip to the seaside. They wondered off from the group to walk along the pier, which was closed at the time. Andrea slipped and fell, and Sarah-Jane was unable to pull her back up, she lost her grip and fell into the water where she died.
In her final moments, the Trickster, an alien from another dimension came to her and offered to switch her and Sarah-Jane's places. A terrified teenager, she agreed and Sarah-Jane died in her place.
Back in the present day, Andrea is living in what we know to be Sarah-Jane's house. Due to sci-fi shenanigins, only one person, Maria, remembers Sarah-Jane, with an asteroid approaching earth, the only person who could save them is Sarah-Jane, Maria must talk Andrea into allowing herself to die as a teenager so Sarah-Jane can live instead.
Its really depressing, Andrea fights against it right up until the end. Its her birthday, and she's being told she was meant to die as a teenager. The episode genuinely has you rooting for the death of a child.
During his wedding to a main character a man must agree to die before they meet (The Wedding of Sarah-Jane Smith 3.3):
Once again, the Trickster is saving people in order to mess with Sarah-Jane. This time he saves a man after he falls down the stairs, telling him Sarah-Jane is his soul mate and giving him a ring that if Sarah-Jane wears it, will ensure the wedding goes off without a hitch.
Sarah-Jane and her fiance, and Clyde, Luke and Rani are trapped in alternate dimensions, the only way they'll be reunited is if the wedding goes forward. In the end, to save the day, Sarah-Jane's fiance must agree to his prior death.
A main character goes back in time and must let her parents die in a car crash (The Temptation of Sarah-Jane Smith 2.5):
Its the Trickster again, and another episode with Sarah-Jane Smith in the episode so we know its going to be messed up.
So Sarah-Jane's parents have been dead from the start of the series, they died in a car accident when she was a baby, and she was raised by her aunt. A time fissure to the 1950s appears, specifically to the time and place just before Sarah-Jane dies. She is unable to resist and goes through the fissure so she can meet her parents.
She is ultimately unable to resist preventing their deaths, messing up time very badly by creating a paradox that allows the Trickster to take over. In order to put things right Sarah-Jane must allow her parents to die.
A main characters dead beat dad shows up and makes him forget everyone he loves (The Mark of the Berserker 2.4):
This one is harrowing on rewatch as an adult. Clyde's dad left him and his mother when he was young, he moved to Germany and they've had limited contact ever since. When his girlfriend gets pregnant he runs away again and comes back to London to meet up with Clyde.
Clyde is very excited to see his dad and brings him to Sarah-Jane's attic to tell him about the adventures he's been having. While they're up there, Clyde's dad takes a pendant that allows him to control peoples thoughts and actions, while slowly corrupting him.
He gets Clyde to leave with him, planning on taking him back to Germany. Clyde is resistent to the idea, he doesn't want to leave behind his mum or his friends. In the end, Clyde's dad makes him forget everyone he loves so he'll leave with him.
Its pretty messed up. This and whatever happened to Sarah-Jane are episodes I think about all the time.
Everyone is made to hate a main character including his mum, he is left homeless (The Curse of Clyde Langer 5.2):
this is the penultimate story of the Sarah-Jane Adventures, and its more bad times for Clyde.
While at an exibit, Clyde gets a splinter on one of the pieces, now whenever anyone reads or hears his name, they grow to hate him. One by one all his friends and his mother turn against him. He is kicked out and left homeless. (obviously this is fixed for him by the end, but the episode does not end on a high note, it makes you very aware that this is an ongoing problem for the others he met, specifically another teenager he made friends with, who he wanted to help but couldn't find after he had been saved).
Adopted main character is returned to his 'real family' who he does not remember (The Lost Boy 1.5):
Okay so we need a little background for this one. In the pilot we meet Luke (although he doesn't have a name at this point). Luke was effectively grown in a lab for use by aliens in an invasion. At the end of the pilot Sarah-Jane adopts him.
In The Lost Boy, we see an appeal for a missing boy who looks identical to Luke. It is presumed the Bane in fact did not grow him, but instead kidnapped this boy and wiped his mind. The police are called by another character and Luke is returned to who we assume to be his parents. They do not treat him well, keeping him locked in his room and not letting him see his friends.
Of course it turns these people are aliens in disguise and Lukes origins are precisely as we were told, but it doesn't make the experiece any less upsetting for everyone involved. This thing of Sarah-Jane vs Luke's "real" family is recurring throughout the early seasons. At a later point, the Bane return, and try to reclaim Luke as their son, another not fun time.
Main character appears to be suffering from dementia or something similar (Goodbye Sarah-Jane Smith 4.6):
Oh good, another episode with Sarah-Jane Smith in the title, sure to be a fun time.
This is a fairly basic description of the set up to the story in and of itself, there's not much more to add. Sarah-Jane begins suffering from memory issues. No longer able to defend the earth, she hands over her alien fighting tools to a successor.
Of course, this being a TV show named after Sarah-Jane, this again turns out to be an alien plot, making Sarah-Jane and everyone around her believe her memory is failing her, and everything is back to the status quo by the end. But it takes a while for the truth of the situation to be revealed
The Doctor's funeral (Death of the Doctor 4.3):
This one honestly is not on the same level as the others. UNIT shows up and tells Sarah-Jane that the Doctor is dead, inviting her to his funeral. From the beginning, Sarah-Jane does not believe the Doctor to be dead, if the audience were not 10 year olds, neither would they. I mostly put it here on the assumption it sounds fake.
This one is actually a very fun time as an adult because Katy Manning is in it, and Jo Grant is probably my favourite companion so having her back is fun
I also want to add a note on the entire premise (there is no issue with these ideas being in a children's show).
The Sarah-Jane Adventures is a very good children's show, despite the prmises for a large chunk of its stories sounding dark, and most of those being played in a way that honours that, the show is very much still appropriate for children. Handling heavy topics is not in and of itself a bad thing for a children's program to do as long as they handle it well. I grew up on the Sarah-Jane Adventures, it was my first love before even Doctor Who, watching these episodes had a positive impact on me. Do not take the premise of this poll to be "Wow, I can't believe they's put that in a children's show, thats way to heavy for kids." Its more meant to be "Wow, thats not what I expect from a children's show, good on the Sarah-Jane Adventures"
non SJA fans:
I had to cut from this, the episode that was just the main characters' anxiety dreams, the second episode ending with an alien child begging for his life than dying horribly, whatever was going on in the woman in the attic, and probably a bunch of others that slipped my mind
#The closest I come to I can't believe they'd put that in a kids show#is the first two#because you know#seeing the death of a child#and while wedding doesn't have that#it has a very similar premise

Seeing as All the older kids lost their Digimon partners, do you then think that Takeru and Hikari would eventually lose Tailmon and Patamon, and if so, when do you think they'll lose Them. Do you think they'll lose Them before the 02 kids or at the same time as them
You know I don’t think Takeru and Hikari will ever lose them or the 02 kids. I say that for five reasons.
1. Takeru is way too attached with Patamon. I mean come on he uses Him as a hat in public and at school with Patamon and Gattomon sits with Hikari at the end credits of Kizuna.
2.The older digidestined mentality seemed to be separating adult life from play life and eventually the adult life wins out. We saw this in how they would separate from their Digimon from school or job training and would come home to their digimon. Remember the beginning of Kizuna? They practically set Takeru and Hikari up on a date, err babysitting activity while they both went to class. They loved their partners but their minds were going elsewhere all fit the sake of ‘growing up’.
3. Takeru has been through a lot being separated from Patamon when he sacrificed himself in adventure and has a severe emotional scar from it. Hikari also has a similar story with Gattomon through the death of wizardmon their close friend and we have seen reminders of the attachment in 02.
4. In Tri Takeru hides critical information from the other Digidestined about Patamon’s infection. He was afraid to lose him again. Hikari also almost lost Gattomon/ Tailmon when she fused in mega dark digivolved form with Rasielmon becoming the horrifying Ordinemon. We saw how she tapped into her powers somehow to reach Tailmon and nearly went out to the battlefield swimming to save her (we are proud of you) instead of relying on anyone else to save her. They show they are not above their own relationship as far as sharing groupthink with the others. Yes, it did come out negatively but this was part of the beauty of Tri (I will make a post about that later.)
4. Lastly thanks to the 02 group (possibly) Takeru and Hikari fit in with them and adopted their mentality (or was it the other way around? Debatable.) with the newer digidestined and kind of adds to the whole fact about them incorporating their partners in their adult life (02 group) and not separating or hiding it (original Digidestined group).
5. In the last episode of 02 ‘A million points of light’ We see in the credits how a lot of people got their digimon and the original group had restored a relationship between their digimon. I find it fitting how in the prior episode Hikari with the crest of light has an illusion (with her power I contend foresight or prophecy) about everyone having a digimon one day and everyone being at peace. With the timing of this movie and that future that does for the most part happen that does not leave a lot of time for them to lose their partners. In the 02 movie sequel we see how the Digidestined Taichi and and Koushiro are just getting into their careers and the 02 kids are in their colleges/internships. This is just a ballpark guess (I am no good with numbers) but I would think this would be ten years before the 02 kids are established in their careers and they have children. With how attached they were in the movie preview/beginning I can’t see them losing this attachment.
So for these reasons I don’t think the 02 group will experience the loss of their Digimon.
I’m never one to give answers without deep thoughtful reasoning. If you have anymore questions please let me know!

You know what people don't talk up enough about souls games?
Like the direct ones, Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring- because even some of my all time favorites like Nioh 1 didn't really replicate this:
The fact that messages make the experience a pseudo coop game even if you never summon etc.
Like, seeing a bloodstain (this IS applicable to Nioh) can tell you about a danger (In Nioh it could help with illusory walls but that's tl;dr for this post).
But Messages themselves make it kind of like a community effort to figure out how to overcome each challenge.
I think there's a lot of merit in not reading them and going blind as hell, there's fun to be had in mashing into problems and going "OH MY GOD, this guy who's knocking me senseless is weak to fire, FINALLY I can win."
And I'll admit, I didn't really read too many in prior games, but in Elden Ring I'm indulging in reading a ton of them and the weird sense of community effort is just borderline incredible, and it's helped me with a ton of little things in the game that I maybe didn't "need" the help with, but still.
Like I remember back in Demon's or Dark 1, I forget which, I heard some people talking up the messages because it made it sort of like a community effort to solve the game- it's all minor and little, like notes left by previous adventurers, and I thought "Hah, that's neat, anyways ultra greatsword I beat the game"
But I'm playing Elden and it's just really clicking; THIS is a powerful tool in souls games and more souls-likes should consider it.
I don't think it's a one size fits all thing, I don't think every souls-like needs messages. But I think if you make a game dense enough and grand enough, the messages won't handhold the whole experience- they'll add to it, and sometimes they might expand what the player would experience by guiding them in a tough spot and that's neat too.
Anyways I'm just thinking aloud about how much the messages have added to my playthrough in small ways.
Like when I fell for the crystal cave trap on day 1 and found a bunch of messages expressing dread at their situation and some messages pointing toward the exit to help those poor souls along. That's SICK! I felt like not only did *I* fall for a trap, but the COMMUNITY fell for a trap and then those that figured it out were trying their best to help!
Or when I approached an unfamiliar fog door and a bunch of messages hinted at the damage type that'd help. I still had to do the fight myself and the advice was more useful since I had access to a good option with that damage type, but the advice was quintessential to me first trying that encounter with knowledge passed down in a note.
I just think the messages are neat.
They're funny, they're trolly, they're helpful, and I like them because it makes just playing a souls game solo feel like a community coop event.
