Chapter summary: you have always been there for Miles,will your long time crush ever pay attention to you…or not?

Warning: Spoilers for the movie Across the Spider-verse, slight angst

Guys this is my first time writing this be gentle with me <3 enjoy!

“Alright so lets do this one more time, Hey! Im (Y/N) (L/N) and Im one of the well-known spiderman/spiderwoman of Brooklyn,New York.” you swing through the city using your web as some of the civilians took out their phone to take picture or video of you. You land on top of a rooftop before speaking into an invincible camera “But im not the only one,im with my close friend Miles Morales who is also a spiderman of Brooklyn,weird huh?”

comes another person swing by you as he parkour through the rooftop in his black and red spider suit “keep up (n/n)!” Miles laugh as he jumps and swings away. You let out a chuckle as you follow him “Yo Miles wait up!”.

For the last few months after the collider incident with Kingpin,you and miles get closer since both of you share the same responsibility to keep the city safe and life is not easy even after you wear the spider mask. Balancing your life as a student and as a hero is not..easy,at all. At one time you could be in class try to catch up to your academic and the next thing you make up an excuse to go to the rest room to go out and fight crimes, comes back with few bruises and scrathes. But both of you manage to pull through the day,together.

It is Sunday as you and Miles are hanging out in his room listening to music, you are sitting on his bed bopping your head to the song as you scroll through your phone while Miles is sitting at his desk with his sketchbook,drawing. Suddenly the silent breaks as Miles stop his drawing and ask “Hey..(n/n)” he turn his chair towards you.

“Hm? What is it coco head? Something on your mind?” you turn your attention to Miles,notice his sad demenor. You stand up from the bed and walk towards him put your hand on his shoulder.

“Do you..miss the other spiders? Like Peter..Peni and..Gwen” Miles speak,his voice is low as he look up at you. You sigh and nod your head “Yeah I do Miles, but they are in another dimension” you tilt your head slightly “They are out there living their lives,I wonder if Peter B ever have a child ya know” you chuckle,trying to lighten up his mood

Miles chuckle before he look down at his hands on his lap “I just…miss Gwen a lot actually” he sigh as he wipe his face with his palms slightly frustrated “Ya know it is hard I miss her and she is not even from here man”

you lean on the table beside him,hunch down slightly to look him in the eyes,with sympathy “Miles,you know the rules right,they cant be here nor we can be there, we can dissapear and so are they”

“I know that (y/n)…I know,if only I could just met Gwen one time” Miles lean back on his chair looking at the ceiling,in his head he is hopping maybe a portal would just pop out so he could go to Gwens dimension..

You look at your friend sadnes fill your heart to see your best friend seem so down,you know Miles have been missing the spiders ever since the first week they went back to their dimension and for the past time you have try your best to be there for Miles and keep him company listening to whatever problem he is facing. For the years you been friend with Miles you slowly start to develop feelings for the ball of sunshine. His creativity in his talent,he is smart in academics,his warm honey brown eyes that seem to always take your breath away and such a sweet smile..it would be a fool of you to not fall for the boy.

You lick your lips slightly before you stand up and face to the desk,trying to change the subject “what cha drawing Miles?” you pick up his black sketchbook and go through the pages. “Oh just some uh,sketches of..” Miles voice trail off not wanting to finish the sentence.

“Of..?” I trail my question as I keep flicking the pages before stopping on the page he was currently drawing on and look at the figure he drew with such great details, my breath hitch slightly before finish my own sentence “Gwen..” I look at the drawing..a pang of jealousy fill my heart before I shake my head slightly and close the book turn to look at Miles with a small smile “It looks awesome Miles,you really get her smile and suit on point”

Thanks man” Miles smile at you before you could say anything Rio voice muffle through the close door of Miles bedroom “Miles! Dinner is ready! Tell (y/n) she can join for dinner!” Miles turn towards the doors slightly “Okay mom! Be there in a sec!” Miles turn back to you before nudge his head slightly towards the door “You joinning (n/n)?” You shake your head slightly before move to get your jacket and phone “I have to go home Miles,il see you later okay?” Miles stand up from his chair making his way to you before giving you a hug “Thank you for being with me (n/n)”

You smile sadly knowing that Miles need your support more in this tough times of his.. you pat his back before making your way out of his room saying goodbye to mama Rio and walk out the street with both of your hands in your pocket…you cant help but though of how many times Miles have mention Gwen whenever you two are together…how many times he have drawn her in almost all the pages in his sketchbook, heck he didn’t even draw you even though you have been friends for so long..maybe you could try to be better…maybe be like Gwen..?

Hobie Brown had a plan from the beginning

So a little while ago I saw a post that said that Hobie's biggest weakness was that he quit the Spider Society when he did (I can't find that post so I won't link it). I don't really agree with this.

The thing about Hobie Brown is that he knows the value of community. Obviously, we don't get much back round about his personal life in the movie so I'm going to go off of the Spider Punk mini series.

I'm this run Hobie is homeless. He lives out of a van and a community center in Brooklyn (he's originally a New Yorker) but he's not alone. He lives and/or works with a bunch of friends: Captain Anarchy (Karl Morningdew, E-138's Captain America and a gay native american man), Riothart (Riri Williams, E-138's Ironheart), Mz Marvel (Kamala Khan), Hulk (Robbie Banner), Daredevil (Mattea Murdock, in E-138 she is a blind punk drummer in Philadelphia) and other unnamed characters. So even though they switched up his backstory in the film I still belive that he's not alone in his home universe. Punk culture, anarchy and communism are all about building community and helping others.

Honestly I think thats why he's part of the Spider Society in the first place because he obviously does not agree with anything their doing. He's there because he knows they will recruit vulnerable teenagers who don't have the support that he does. Thats why he takes Gwen and Pavitr under his wings I think (to make it clear Hobie is also a teenager that needs support he's just uniquely positioned to give it in this situation because of his background but he is still very much a teenager.) He also knows that sometimes the best way to take down the system is from inside of it. He's gonna play along till he can take them down.

I think it makes perfect sense that he "quit" when he did. At this point Miles knows Spider Society is really fucked up, he knows his dad is gonna die in two days and he's made it clear that he will not go quietly. Hobie knows all of this and trust Miles to have everything handled. I think that he also knows that when Miles escapes Gwen is going to be disillusioned by the Spider Society and get sent back to E-65.

So he trusts both Miles and Gwen to be able to handle themselves for the moment, but because he knows the value of community when organizing he also knows that they can't do it alone. So he quits (like he always knew he was going to). He knows that the best use of his time and skills right now is to make sure they have everything they need to oppose Spot and Miguel when the time comes. We all know he made at least two watches (he had to have made one for himself as well) but I think that he was also recruiting the rest of the band at the same time.

The only other main spider besides Gwen that we see in the chase scene is Peter. We see Penni that one time during the confrontation scene but not again. I think that he was finding Pavitr, Peni, Noir, and Ham. I think he knew that Gwen would probably go to Peter first. He probably knew when she activated the watch he gave her and brought everyone else to regroup.

But Margo was also in that final shot and Hobie would not have had enough time to recruit her between Gwen being sent back and the final shot. I think they have been working together behind the scenes this whole time. When Miles sends himself back, sure at first she didn't know what was happening, but when she saw Miles in the go home machine she kind of froze. She is looking right at the controls for the machine and there is an option to shut down. She doesn't press it. She could, but she didn't. She even tells Lyla to get out of her way, probably because she doesn't want her to interfere too much. She may have known she was gonna help him escape before that scene even happened. Once that was done she could get out and regroup with Hobie and the rest.

So ya I don't think he's a coward for quitting when he did I think he was really smart. We know he plans and excutes political actions in his home universe. Actions that could defiantly end up with him or others in jail. When planning things like that you need to be smart about it, often times for particularly dangerous things no one has all the information till the very end, of course he'd keep it a secrete. Even from Gwen because she's still not ready. He's not a coward he just knew how to best utilize his and everyone else's skills. He knows when he needs to be in the background as opposed to the front line.

Nora is the eldest Morales sibling at 36/37 with Jefferson and Rio being aged up to their 60s but he's not their bio kid because i'm black biracial instead of monoracial so he's adopted!His parents took him in as a 16 year old street kid who'd been kicked out for being trans,specifically transmasc genderfluid and bigender.The Morales fam are super supportive of him and always have been!!

He's super bubbly,goofy,silly,sweet and kind but very insecure due to his trauma which also included getting bullied at school with zero friends and never went to college because his neurodivergence made school at that level too hard for him(audhd,anxiety and mdd)and Miles having all the same ones didn't help at all.But he never takes it out on him and is super proud of him for how smart he is and they're best friends on top of being adoptive siblings!!!Nora's also really snarky and lowkey cheeky and a huge gamer and geek and actually pretty responsible with good self-care habits contrary to the stereotype because he's a black fem instead of a white dudebro who dosen't read Spiderman comics.His poor social skills made it hard for him to connect with people but he does have a few casual friends in Itsv!No real strong connection though,it's just people he knows well enough.I think it goes without saying but he has hidden anger issues and spiteful tendencies too!

His version of the movies is called 'Spiderman/Spiderwoman:Spiderverse' but would be dubbed Spidersiblings:Spiderverse by fans if he were canon!It's both his and Miles' story as the titulary Spiderman and Spiderwoman so they're co-protagonists and Across has him as the fem mc instead of Gwen

Into him worked at the diner Peter B and Miles talked at and that's why Miles took him to it and Jefferson is a househusband because fuck copganda

Nora actually got bit at work at the same time Miles did while with Ripeter and Nora's intro blends into his as their theme songs play back to back/mixed into eachother:Miles' is 'Sunflower' and Nora's is 'Strawberry Pop',a rap song about black womanhood and Nora's type specifically as it was written for him like Sunflower was for Miles and both have a few lyrics referencing eachother as the heart and soul of Spiderverse.They're open with eachother about almost everything and Nora partially helped raise Miles so he always looked up to him but stopped vocalizing it as he got older so Nora misenterpreted it as him not thinking he was cool anymore and it hurt but he didn't vocalize that either because he found it fair

Nora was close to Uncle Aaron too and had suspiciouns he was hiding something and there's a moment where he jokes that he's secretly a supervillain but pretends not to be to protect the family with a goofy expression and hand gestures and we don't see Aaron's expression on purpose for dramatics and angst sake

His Spider motif is the purple jumping spider so his power is super strong legs including beyond average strength in them and echanced jumping and the rest of his body is already thick beforehand due to age(and so he dosen't look ridicilous LMAO)

Peter B is his main love interest!They bickered a lot in Itsv due to the whole 'extrovert optismist vs introvert pessimist' thing but had relathionship development as they got to know eachother and worked together and ended up crushing on eachother.Nora was the first older trans person Gwen met so she instantly latched onto him because they clocked eachother and he was happy to be friends with her and mutual mentors for lack of a better term(i.e Gwen taught Nora about being Spiderwoman and Nora was a positive adult figure in Gwen's life who took care of and looked out for her).He gets along with Peni,Noir and Spiderham too and Peni is shoujo based instead of moefication bullshit so naturally her and Nora's pastel femme ass hit it off

What's Up Danger? is a Morales Siblings shared theme song and Nora gives Miles ressurances as much as their parents and Peter B do and Peter B himself helps Nora out in feeling like Spiderwoman even before he chills out.There's a scene where Nora devastates that Miles will never look up to him like he used to but will make a great Spiderman and Miles is shocked speechless before he say he just didn't think he needed to say it anymore and got made fun of for admiring his big sister so much by his bullies because he talked about him at school a few times and tells him he never stopped being his hero and that he's 'the most awesome Spidersister in any universe' and that's what gives Nora the confidence to really be Spiderwoman as they rush off to the collider after hugging tightly and grinning at eachother.Nora is Spiderwoman(male)and Miles is Spiderman(female)

Nora showed bits of interest in punk culture in Into and goes full pastel punk/afropunk between it and Across and that's where his suit upgrade comes in and Itsv!Nora dressed like an afrolatina grandma tbh while Atsv!Nora dresses like a baddie and a huge faggot(complimentary).Spiderwoman is frequently seen at riots and charity events and Spiderman accoumpanies him when he's not too busy with school shit.Also Spiderwoman dosen't follow the no kill rule just for the exception of abusers and fascists

Nora becomes even more parental acting post Uncle Aaron's death for obvious reasons and there's direct talk of him in Across because of how important he was to the Spidersiblings.As Spider(wo)man,Nora naturally has something going on with all adult MJ's(meaning yes 1610 MJ and 616 MJ but not Em Jay because she's Gwen's age)and there's a joke of this when they sneak into the Kingpin party with the Mjnora interaction that implies bisexual MJ who loves all Spidermans regardless of gender

Atsv has a rework of it's intro sequence with a speech by the og Spiderfam(Miles,Nora,Gwen and Peter B)and same for the actual art/animation in it and Nora is the first amongst them to discover Spider Society,followed by him and Peter B reuiniting in a corny romantic scene that's interrupted by Miguel and Jessica and it cuts back and forth to them and Gwen as contrast and Gwen and Nora have an equally tender reunion as she frantically tells him what happened to her in a meltdown and he comforts her as they make it to Spider Society.Nora excitedly says he can't wait to tell Miles about it until Miguel says he can't just yet and refuses to tell him why so Nora just gives up and follows along because he's so fucking annoying about it.The movie is extended to almost 3 hours and there's a lot of Nora and Miles bonding in Earth 1610 and Peternora replaces Ghostflower as the love story of the movie and Gwen and Miles are platonic to not feel like it's only a thing because they're the other two main Spiderpeople

Hobie and Nora did the Spiderman pointing meme when they first met because they're both punk Spiderpeople and acted like they'd known eachother for years after only a few days of friendship and Nora basically adopted Hobie as his little brother and pseudo-son.They're platonic t4t black love realness and Margo gets in on it too since him and Nora have a shared special interests in video games and other matching tastes and Nora provides a shoulder to cry on when Mr and Mrs Kess are being extra toxic.He also helped Peni post Canon Event to cope and could relate from his own broken childhood that turned him into an edgecase too at the time and Pavitr and him are beyond unserious together and Gwen lives with Hobie fulltime on his boat and Nora visits them often enough to parent them it's pretty much his second house

This earns Nora the nickname 'Spider Manager' since they call themselves the Spiderband and he's their mentor/caretaker(Also George Stacy is Nora's canon event cop /hj.MURK THAT NIGGA!!!!!!)

Punkflower happens and their dynamic is the same because they're already so romantically-coded but there's more scenes and expansion due to longer run time.Ghostbyte also is together but there's tension going on not due to antagonizing eachother but due to Gwen's fated death and Margo's self-worth issues in regards to romance because of the 'disposable black love interest' trope.I wouldn't say they're on the same level because misogynoir is a very real thing but i think it's a good angle to work with in-universe and i'm a black woman myself so i'd say it's okay for me to since it's my territory

Jessnora is REALLLLLLL THEY'RE SO FUCKING GAY.Jessica still has a husband and is pregnant but they're polyamorous so it's okay with him them being a thing and Jessnora is that one trope where they're both chaotic but one's classy and elegant and smooth about it and the other's just a fucking menace with NO fanciness to them.Noraguel is also real in an enemies to lovers and rather angsty way as Nora actually changes a lot of Miguel's views by working with him and making him spend quality time so he unwinds but he's still scared to loose everything all over again and Spiderman and Spiderwoman in the same dimension makes them The Original Anomalies and it's a long while before he connects the dots and is too blinded by his trauma to see reason.He knows he loves Nora too but Nora has no clue on his feelings or Miguel's and it's torture because he can't figure out why he's so important to him but nonetheless dosen't hesitate to beat his ass and come for his entire life

42 Nora aka Nora J(Junia)is Venom's host who ran away from home post Jefferson's death because it broke him and is a vigilante like Miles G but much darker in his plots and sourer and meaner.There's a horror movie based reveal in the finale where Miles thinks he's safe because his Nora is with him but he turns and reveals himself as Venom-faced but has no actual intentions of hurting him contrary to his terror and his actual Nora gets Miles G and there's a dual frame reveal where the 42 Morales Siblings say the same thing:'I'm Miles/Nora Morales'

42 Nora/Nora J is also known as 'Venora',Nora has the trans pin on his Atsv costume to match Gwen's room flag,all Spiderpeople have special move the others can't do and Nora's being able to hack with his webs thanks to being kinda a criminal to get by when he was a homeless kid giving him experience beforehand and Beyond has Nora helping Miles G get that redemption-healing arc so at some point he asks him why he's so insistant on caring about him so Nora responds 'I'm gonna save you even if it kills me.You're my sunflower too'

Due to what little on-screen interactions we see between Noir Peter (Pete) and Peni in ITSV, it's no surprise that a lot of people have agreed upon the popular fanon of them being a sort of father-daughter duo (or, for those who subscribe a bit more to Pete being younger due to the comics, a sibling-like relationship). It's cute so I support it, but it got me thinking about the two in comparison to eachother, specifically in terms of corrupt systems and how they're handled in their stories. I think the two have a bit more a contrast than just the surface level stuff, so let's look into it!

(Essay + comic panel evidence beneath the cut)

From the very start of Peni's (unfortunately short) comics, she's shown as very resigned to her fate - when brought in to discuss her father and her future "career" in the SP//DR program, she's upfront and blunt; My father is dead, and I'm the only one who can replace him, so I will. It's a foregone conclusion, and one she doesn't shy away from.

Furthermore, even though we see how, throughout the comics, she's basically given no life beyond her work, and even her school hours are eaten into, she's told again and again that all of this cost means something.

She has to sacrifice everything, because there's no other choice. Her own Guardians, her Uncle Ben and Aunt May, work for the very organization that her father did, and persist to remind her of the importance of the job, even if they do try to remind her that she can't handle this alone. Very telling, when faced with threats to the multiverse, she briefly asks her Uncle Ben if she should stay with him, only for him to tell her to go.

Duty calls.

This isn't the point of this, but of course she joined Spider HQ and went along with what Miguel was telling her - she's grown up surrounded by very like-minded, sacrifice-willing adults. Of course she has to do this. What other option is there?

On the other end, Pete is quite the opposite of Peni's story. Yes, 100%, like all Spiderpeople, there's the element of responsibility, that looming recognition that not doing what you can gets people hurt, but while Peni's story is set up so that she's fighting for her system of authority, Pete is unsurprisingly against his. At any point that he can, even pre-spiderbite, he's picking fights and trying to fix things. He's so set in his beliefs and outspoken that he makes his own mentor question his actions, constantly in pursuit of a better world.

It's the responsibility of the people to give a shit, and Pete cares so much that it drives him a bit mad, I think.

Where Peni is told that this is the way things work, Pete is demanding that it change, asking questions. Peni was raised to accept her responsibility, whereas Pete was raised to fight against the expected status quo.

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THEIR RESPECTIVE BENS.

I'll try keeping this fragment of a thought short because we're already clocking in 6 paragraphs pre-edits and I need to feed the dogs their dinner soon, but the TLDR is that Uncle Ben is the last surviving legal Guardian of Peni, and though distant, he tries his best to support her while she's in the SP//DR program. Pete's Uncle Ben is, by no such surprise, dead, but specifically, he was a WWI veteran, decorated but guilty.

Uncle Ben is, in the Noir comics, yet another symbol of how doing what you're told can haunt you. He was very vocally against the war machine he was a part of, while Peni's Ben has known nothing else but his work.

This is how completely dead opposite they are in so many regards. They contrast eachother!! It's really interesting! Honestly, I could see Pete getting into an argument with Peni's Ben over how she's been treated, even if it probably wouldn't go well. He cares too much to keep his mouth shut, often.

Some slightly more coherent thoughts about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (ATSV) now that I've had a little time to process and long to return to the theater to see it again and again and again:

1 ) Go see it. Holy shit, go see it. Re-watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (ITSV) before you go if you have the chance but you don't have to, they recap it well enough and I promise anyway, the first thing you're gonna do when you get home after is turn ITSV on and then scream a bunch because it is all so tightly connected from the very beginning.

2 ) ITSV is a masterpiece. ATSV is more of a masterpiece in the same way that 11 is bigger than 10. They took everything in ITSV, which is a perfect 10/10 and made it 11/10 for this film. I shit you not. It cannot be otherwise expressed with words. Everything is just bigger, faster, bolder, more.

Ok, now getting into some of the more spoiler-y thoughts:

3 ) Loved me those themes of connection and loneliness. When you go back to ITSV, you see it's right there from the start. All of the version of Spider-Man are lonely. They are tired. They're isolated and unsupported and they are all suffering. Miles makes their lives better. They make Miles' life better. This becomes such a huge, huge theme in ATSV as Miles literally breaks the canon, he is the ultimate fix-it fanfic character, every Spider-Man he interacts with gets some element of their tragic backstory fixed. Peter B. reunites with MJ and has a child that brings joy back into his life. Gwen gets a friend again. Pavitr doesn't have to watch his girlfriend's father die. They are no longer doomed by the narrative.

4) Another post commented on how tired Peni looks when we finally see her, but she's not the only one. All of the Spider-People in the Spider-Verse look tired and it is, in fact I'd argue, Miguel's fault. He appealed to their sense of martyrdom to put together an organization that helps people and saves the world(s). BUT he made "maintaining the canon" an aspect of this (a wonderful meta commentary on Miles himself, btw, and all the comic book nerds who want to rehash the same story over and over instead of transforming it into something new and hopeful). Because they had all suffered so much, it followed logically for all the Spider-People that all of their parallel universe selves must also suffer.

This is the crab bucket mentality. Miguel dragged all the Spider-People into the crab bucket with him. He taught them learned helplessness. They're all tired and worn down because they have to keep reliving their own trauma by standing by and making sure these awful things that happened to them continue to happen, over and over. It's the mirror too for any marginalized community where the past generation believes the next one must suffer as they did. But it's exhausting for them to see the misery and do nothing. That's why they're all so tired. It makes sense to them that to be Spider-People, the next generation must suffer as they did but they are also, all of them, heroes and so it wears them down to watch this happen over and over. Miles brings back their energy and joy and their hope by refusing to be doomed by the narrative.

It's wonderful fanfic but it's also fantastic storytelling and it works on so many layers of the story, Doylist and Watsonian, all the way down.

5 ) THIS is a tightly knit story. Every. Single. Element. Ties back to the central story, the central themes. Every line either reveals plot, character, setting, or themes. It is so, so tight as a writer I was gaping. In necessary, if brief, moments of exposition they make sure to keep the screen busy and moving. There's no time for boredom. It is literally so fast that even as someone with ADHD I was sometimes overwhelmed as much as riveted. The few scenes that slowed down to simply fast movie pace felt achingly slow as a result and I bet you they were maybe 30 seconds long.

6 ) I AM. SO HYPED. FOR THE ENDING AND THE SEQUEL IT SETS UP? The perfect dark mirror story, not rushed but simply introduced so we can see that the final boss for Miles is himself. Unless they subvert that expectation, which they might! But it is so ominous to see Prowler Miles, it makes so much sense, it is perfect and deep and rich. Literally every time you think, "Maybe they'll rehash old material?" they don't they just keep introducing cool new characters and concepts and themes it's mindblowing.

7 ) They never leave you with one thread. Miles is going to face himself and fight to save his dad from the Spot and fight Miguel, presumably, in the next one. No single line only does one thing. No frame does one thing. And yet everything ties back to the core story of Miles and the Spider-People both on the Watsonian and Doylist level. I want to study every frame under a microscope. It's insane.

8 ) THE ART IT'S JUST. I'm not an artist so I'll leave it at this but THE ART.

I need to see it again. I could talk about any single element for hours. But I just can't stop thinking about the mastery embodied in this film. I know a sequel to a superhero movie that's animated will never win Best Picture but I do not exaggerate when I say that in itself might be an indictment of Best Picture. This film deserves Best Picture. It is the best movie I've seen in an unfathomably long time including ITSV.

That. Was. Fucking. Insane. That was the best movie I’ve watched. Literally captivated from start to finish. WHAT AN EXPLOSIVE INTRODUCTION?! with gwen stacey and her drums? Such powerful animated movements, in fact ALL THE ACTION SCENES carried SUCH GOOD WEIGHT, made SUCH GOOD USE OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT, and were just generally so well choreographed! The first villain was just so visually stunning and animated, I LOVED his style. And the humour from the very start was just, on point. This entire movie WAS SOOOO FUNNY. IT WAS HILARIOUS! Hahaha the lego spiderman scene? How miguel was like, “you’re one of the best of us” XDDD. And omg the MAIN ANTOGNIST IS THE BAGEL GUY. I CANNOT. THATS SO HECKING FUNNY. HAHAHHWYWHAJABWHAJJAHAHAHAH.

Such a visually stunning movie man. Like the first one was amazing, but this somehow topped that. The ENVIRONMENTS AND WORLDS THAT WE EXPLORED WERE SOOOO BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED? Indian spiderman- just everything about him was hilarious- had such an amazing universe, just the layered upon layers of buildings and roads EVERYWHERE. omg HOBY??? I LOVE HOBY MAN. How earlier he was like, miles u gotta use ur palms too not just ur fingers, and then he was also very established to be an against capitalism and institution type man, AND OMG MY GUY AAAAAA HELPING MILES OUT!!!! WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS DOING ANYTHING FOR HIM??? HOBY’S A REAL ONE GUYS I LOVE HIM.

MAYDAY WAS ADORABLE! Peter being such a doting father was so adorable and EVERYTHING. Like that sequence of him showing all the baby pictures to miles and gwen, and then when he told miles that he should HOLD THE BABY IT’LL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTTER!!!! And ofc it did XD THAT TRAIN FIGHT SCENE??? SO MANY MOVIES HAVE TRIED IT BEFORE, BUT THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE SICKEST TRAIN FIGHT SCENE IVE EVER SEEN. Just the train BULLETING UPWARDS, and then the call back to the leap of faith?

AHHHH but also! So many wonderful computer screen background worthy shots within this film. I absolutely adored the way they kept having the spider people sit and hang upside down. It made so many visually stunning scenes! Like when they were going up the elevator,,, AND THEY WERE ALL UPSIDE DOWN!!! AARHEGEH SOOO COOOL!!!!

Oh man but that brief appearance of peni parker! SHE LOOKED SO TIRED :(!!! URGEGWHW WE GOT TO SEE SPIDERHAM AND SPIDERNOIR AT THE END BUT MAN I RLLY WISH I CUDA SEEN MORE OF THOSE GUYS WYHWHAHWUIAKjahauai!!1!1!?1!1!1 I was so happy when they finally appeared with gwens group of spider allies tho ; - ;!!!!!

Okay back to bagel guy, what a fun and hilarious opening and introduction? Hahaha trying to steal the atm machine and their whole banter, it was just so funny. Amazing introduction. I loved miles’ roommate too! I wish we got to see more of him haha.

Oh oh oh, I loved all of the impact frames in this movie, and also the speech bubbles and sound effects and other fun comic style things, but the glossary squares that kept appearing on screen??? AMAZING!!!! I would love to go through this movie again and just pause and read over everything! THE COLOURS WERE SOOOO GOOD IN THIS MOVIE??? THIS MOVIE REALLY STOOD OUT FOR ME IN IT’S PALETTES! SOME SCENES WERE JUST COMPOSED SO BEAUTIFULLY I JUST AYWHAHAHWUJAHAHAHAH!!!!

The plot twist at the end was so good. It was so well built up too, there were so many hints and what not but it only hit me when aaron showed up… the mom’s eyes being different, her not knowing who spiderman is,,, earlier when the screen got the WRONG DNA,,, and also just the different colour palette? So many good clues. I’m over here laughing at how anticlimactic the mom is taking the news, and then AARON SHOWS UP. And the revelation HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK MAN. IT WASN’T A JOKE.

can we talk about the amazing sound track and sound design for this movie??? I watched this in VMAX which is a cinema which had a larger screen and louder speakers, and wow, I WAS SOOO IMMERSED MAN. Not only does the music SLAP and match each new place so well, but it just adds so much to the viewing experience!!!!

This movie was an absolute masterpiece. Wow. Jesus. The first movie was like my favourite movie. But this somehow TOPPED THAT???? Insane.

as you four were eating, your daughter tugged at peter's sleeve, with icing all over her mouth. "hmm? what is it, darling?" he asked her as she pointed over to the box you hid his gift at, with her tugging at peter's sleeve harder, given her powers, she nearly made peter lose balance at her strength. he chuckled and followed her, while you and peni were none the wiser, thinking you two would surprise peter and stump him as he searched for the gift you three got him.

but surprise no longer it was when peter exclaimed in delight, with his daughter squealing along with him. "a 4 by 4 rubicks cube?" he exclaimed happily, with you and peni nearly choking on your food, knowing that was the very gift you three were going to surprise him with. he looked back at you two happily, his daughter matching his delight with their identical smiles. he carried her and rushed over to you two and expressed his happiness at your small gift for him. "and here i was thinking my birthday couldn't possibly get any better... thank you, you three..." he murmured as he kissed you both on the tops of your heads.

you chuckled as peni crossed her arms over her chest and faked being mad at her adoptive sister for spoiling the surprise. "you pinky promised you wouldn't spoil!" she said with a small laugh as your daughter babbled and giggled. you chuckled. "we were going to have you look all over for it, actually. but seeing you this happy... it's way more worth it, love." you said as he leaned over to share a heartfelt kiss, with peni covering your daughters eyes and joking about you two getting a room.

peter lightly laughed as you two pulled away and gazed into each other's eyes for a moment. "you know what, that's a good idea peni. i'd love to spend the night with your loving parent figure for a little while, you girls don't mind, do you?" he asked them, to which peni nodded and took your daughter off to her room to play, leaving you two alone. "happy birthday, peter." you whispered to him as he leaned in to kiss you again. "happy birthday to me, indeed."

anons, i am sure you are THRILLED that i am FINALLY getting around to your asks after a... decent amount of time lol and i still dont feel like i'm fully out of my g/t writers block but we take what we can get. everyone please enjoy some long-overdue peni and noir content 🫶

“Oh, no… kiddo…”

Peni didn’t know what to do. It was like all the air had been sucked from her lungs and her ears were ringing and her brain was going a mile a minute. The tiny girl continued to sob, head in hands, and the imposing figure of Noir could only look down in discomfort, for so many reasons.

First of all, he hated the way Peni looked so helpless and fragile as she simply sat on a tabletop. It was some experiment gone wrong, she told him – as she tried to find a way to retrofit the dimension-hopping bracelets without having to go through HQ, a calculation must have been off, or she just didn’t account for dimensional differences, because she landed right where she wanted to – in Noir’s world – but when she came to, everything was gigantic and she couldn’t handle it.

“I don’t… I don’t believe it… Peni…?”

It was starting to get dark out, but even in the middle of the day, there was no mistaking the flashing colors of the portal ripping open. Noir had sensed it and positioned himself right next to it, but… nobody emerged.

At least that’s what he thought. As he glanced down in deep thought after the portal collapsed in on itself and disappeared, something was nagging at the back of his brain.

Something familiar… intertwined with burning fear.

Peni, for her part, didn’t even know what was going on. Her bracelet showed that she was exactly where she wanted to be – Earth 90214.

So why did everything feel so… heavy?

Maybe it’s because this place was devoid of any color, and that always threw her for a loop. No, no, that’s not it. She’s been here before, and that never truly bothered her beyond the cosmetics. Maybe her calculations were slightly off, and the inter-dimensional journey was particularly taxing this time.

She got to her feet and immediately wobbled, blinking rapidly as she tried to make sense of what she was seeing. This is weird… I can’t see a thing.

The first footstep was like thunder. Peni winced, shutting her eyes on instinct as she staggered backwards. The subsequent footsteps were no better, and she soon found herself dizzy as she spun around trying to figure out what was happening.

Noir’s heart lurched at the tiny girl’s reaction. He hated the way she looked so helpless on the ground, and his chest suddenly filled with a cocktail of stress, anger and the pure urge to protect.

Through her disorientation, Peni was able to discern that the dark shadow that was cast over her was suddenly getting darker. The sinking feeling of being loomed over was almost overwhelming her spidey senses, but something told her she had to look up.

She didn’t expect the massive, imposing figure of Spider-Noir to be right in front of her.

Her eyes widened as she realized what was going on. No – no – this can’t be happening – how did this happen! – I – I can’t let him see me like this!

“Peni, wait!” Noir cried as the tiny girl took off, forgetting how loud his voice was to her now. “It’s me, it’s Noir! Wait!”

Peni sprinted as fast as her little legs would take her. No time to look back, she thought. I’ve got to get out of here.

Noir’s heart sank. Peni was clearly desperate to escape. He just couldn’t let her do that. The world was dangerous enough for a normal spider person, but now that one of them could fit in the palm of his hand? It was a disaster waiting to happen.

Peni was so focused on getting out of there that she didn’t notice Noir bending down to snatch her up. It wasn’t until his fingertips practically brushed her back did she notice, and by then, it was too late.

A piercing scream echoed up from Peni, causing Noir to wince as he slowly lifted his tiny friend up from the ground. He cringed at the way she kicked and screamed and punched to try and escape, but he knew he had to do this. He did his best to ignore her protests, plopping her in his palm as gently as he could before curling his fingers over her, shrouding her in darkness.

Inside, Peni was panicking. Logically, being with Noir while she was now tiny was the best possible outcome, but everything about her current situation defied all logic. She desperately hurled her fist at the walls of her new prison, but she simply bounced backwards every time. She wasn’t even sure Noir could feel anything, considering he was wearing thick gloves.

Oh, Noir could feel it. Every small impact against his gloved hand sent a shiver down his spine as he ran back to his hideout. There were so many questions swirling around in his brain – questions he knew Peni would have the answer to… if she could work up the courage to talk.

After what felt like hours of movement, Peni felt Noir lurch to a stop. She swallowed and closed her eyes as light flooded her vision. Once she adjusted, her trembling eyes scanned her surroundings and horror filled her senses. She knew this place, but almost none of it was recognizable. Various weapons and pieces of technology looked positively alien, and almost everything looked like it was capable of killing her in an instant.

Thoroughly terrified and definitely embarrassed, she refused to meet Noir’s gaze as he took a seat and kept his hand hovering above the tabletop. Underneath his mask, Noir’s eyes were flickering to a new thing every few seconds – her panicked eyes, her heavy breathing, the small cuts and bruises she sustained in the crash landing.

“Peni… are… are you okay?” he finally asked. He didn’t want to startle her more than he already had, but even the rumbling of his voice made her cower. She crossed her arms and kept her gaze forward.

He wasn’t sure what he was expecting to feel when he held her, but now that he had a moment to process the situation, he felt… protective. This was a tiny life he was holding, and he had all the power in this situation. His stomach jumped when he felt her start to tremble. She was at his disposal, and that was terrifying to Noir. He didn’t like thinking of her as helpless, and it was all exacerbated by the fact that she wouldn’t even look at him.

“Peni… please… I need you to talk to me.” He tried to conceal his own shaking voice. “Tell me what happened.”

Eventually, she did, but it took a lot of coaxing and a lot of waiting. Peni tried her best to repair her watch, but she was trying to exhaust every single option at her disposal to avoid having to admit what she did to Miguel. Noir did what he could to help, but mostly, he would just keep Peni company and reassure her that everything was going to be fine.

Today, things were not fine.

It had been nearly a month that Peni had been stuck like this, and it was starting to weigh down on her. She lay awake on the makeshift bed that Noir had made for her, staring up at the ceiling that was impossibly far away. Noir was off on a mission, and he insisted that she wasn’t allowed to come with him. It was too dangerous.

So she was alone.

For some reason, it felt worse today than any other day. She was tired – tired from working nonstop, tired at having to look up at everything, tired from trying to keep it together. She didn’t even get a good night’s sleep last night because, as much as he hates to admit it, Noir snores.

That, and she just had another nightmare.

She was in distress, couldn’t Noir see that? She thought it was obvious. Maybe he really didn’t notice, or he pretended not to because it made him uncomfortable. Like this whole thing didn’t make Peni uncomfortable! Why did he have to go on that stupid mission? She needed him here.

For the next hour, with her hands folded on top of her stomach, Peni lay there, staring, thinking. Every time she closed her eyes, she could see Noir’s gloved hand completely encompassing her vision and she grew smaller and smaller in its presence. The one person she felt that she could count on was a hundred times her size and could kill her in an instant. As much as she tried to take her mind off of everything, the same thing kept echoing in her head: My dad would know what to do.

She barely noticed when Noir returned, twisting gracefully down the pole from above ground and landing with a thud that normally would have made her jump. The spider giant brushed off his coat and glanced over at the tabletop, dismayed to see Peni still laying in bed.

He padded over and bent down to her height, squinting to see if she was awake or asleep.

“Hey, kiddo…” he said softly, afraid of startling her. “You, uh… you alright?”

To Noir’s surprise, Peni rolled over and glared at him before emphatically flipping around so her back was now facing him.

Noir’s eyes widened. It was moments like these that reminded him that she was just a teenager.

“Is... something bothering you?”

Peni didn’t answer, which was effectively an answer.

Noir racked his brain. It wasn’t like he had extensive experience dealing with teenage girls at a normal height. “Do you, uh… do you want to… talk about it?”

Peni let out a small humph, which just made Noir’s heart leap.

“Come on, kid, you can talk to me, you know that.”

Peni was utterly embarrassed, but she had no choice. It wasn’t like she could walk away. Slowly, she turned back toward Noir, whose expression brightened underneath his mask when her tiny, delicate eyes met his. Peni’s cheeks flushed red as she sat up and crossed her arms in protest.

“There. You happy now?”

“Hey, what’s gotten into you?” Noir asked, trying to sound genuine but instead sounding accusatory. A full day out in the field certainly wasn’t helping.

Peni was dumbfounded. “Oh, nothing, I’m just stuck like this and I don’t know how to fix it and I’m – I’m all alone!”

Noir felt a pang in his heart. “Alone? You… you have me.”

“You’re off on missions all the time, though!”

“Well, yeah! I have a job to do! I’m sorry, Peni, I… I can’t just stay home all the time because you want me to!”

Tears began to prick the corner of Peni’s eyes. Why was she so angry?

“It–it doesn’t matter, okay? Forget I said anything! You’re – you’re not my father, and you never will be!”

Both spider people gasped. Noir never thought of himself as her father – after all, he was only 19 years old, so he was more like an older brother. But he always felt this connection to Peni, however inexplicable, given the respective dimensions they each come from. He had this… insatiable need to protect her from the inherent trauma that all spider people experienced. Like he could shield her from all the pain he once went through. He almost forgot that he really couldn’t do that.

Once the first tear fell, the floodgates burst open. She could barely hear Noir go “Oh, no… kiddo…” from high above her, watching helplessly as the girl he saw as family was breaking down because of him.

“Peni, I…” Noir was at a loss for words. Consoling people was not really his strong suit. But something told him that right now, she didn’t need to be lectured at or reprimanded. She needed comfort.

Peni let out a small gasp when she suddenly felt herself being lifted. Noir had gently cupped his hands around her shaking form and, ever so slowly, brought her over to his chest and held her close.

The low drumming of Noir’s heartbeat was enough to snap Peni back to reality. She looked around to confirm that yes, she was being cupped in his hands and yes, he was holding her by his heart.

“It’s okay, kiddo. I gotcha,” his deep voice rumbled from above. The sound waves traveled with ease though his body and into hers, giving her a sense of grounding and warmth that enveloped her like a blanket.

With shaking hands, she was able to wipe the tears from her face until they no longer fell. She allowed the rhythm of his heartbeat to calm her down, and she felt her trembling begin to subside, too. Soon, she had brought her legs up to her chest and curled into Noir’s fingers, allowing herself to melt into his palms.

Noir had to bite his tongue to keep from awwwing.

They sat in silence for a while, with Peni focusing on her breathing and Noir trying his best not to move. Eventually, he felt her stretch out and twist up to look at him.

“Thanks, Noir,” she squeaked, barely audible even to him. “For being here for me.”

“Anytime, kid,” he said back lowly. “Look, uh. I know I’m not the best with… uh…”

“Feelings?”

Noir chuckled. “Yeah. Those. But, you know, you can come to me anytime… about anything. And you don’t have to talk, if you want, but –”

“–Noir,” she cut him off with a chuckle of her own. “I get it.”

“Oh. Good, good.” He fell into a comfortable silence. “Would you, uh, would you like to go lay down? On the couch?”

“I’d… I’d love to,” Peni replied between yawns.

Peni lightly bounced to the rhythm of Noir’s footsteps until the two were settled on the couch with no more words to be said. It was hard for her to realize but Peni wasn’t alone – she had Noir. Sure, she was somehow four inches tall in this universe, and the sheer darkness and drab of his dimension was in stark contrast to her entire existence… but she had someone to care for her, even if it wasn’t the exact way her dad did it.

That was new for her. But she could get used to that.

A talk amongst bandmates

This fanfic is brought to you by my imagination. Brain, please let me have peace, I have 3 other novels I need to finish.

It hadn't taken much to convince them to leave their dimension and come help. The fact of the matter was, the moment Peni jumped in after being summoned by Spider-Ham, she'd designed the bracelets that allowed them to jump through dimensions and to control their atoms from offing themselves just by looking at Gwen's watch. And okay, she even got help from Spyder Byte, one of the newest additions to their rag-tag of a team. Probably what blew Gwen's mind was the friendship that was slowly brewing between Spider-Noir, and Spiderpunk. Peter Benjamin had been transfixed in trying to understand Hobie's colors. The nineteen-year-old detective would talk to Peni or Peter Porker and kind of just...gravitate to Hobie. It helped that some of their outlooks in life were similar too, just varying degrees of emotion. As the team began to familiarize themselves with each other, Peni broke away from the group, heading over to Gwen. The young fourteen-year-old had looked different since the last time they had seen one another; Peni's hair had grown a bit, and the usual bubbly exterior had been more subdued. There was a more focused look in her dark brown eyes, and now that Gwen could properly get a good look at her, she could see how tired Peni looked. Gwen was concerned and curious; what had Peni gone through in the time that they had separated and gone their own ways? "What happened to Miles?" Peni asked, and the question made Gwen freeze. Of course, Peter Benjamin, Peter Porker, and Peni had gathered back together without asking, but now that everyone was starting to come together as a team...questions were going to be asked. And Gwen could feel her throat close up, not wanting to give answers just yet. But Peni was staring at her, and soon the whole group had moved their attention from one another to her. Even little May-Day who had been pulling on Peter Noir's goggles seemed to feel the tension and settled back in Peter B.'s arms. Gwen sucked in a breath, and she told the whole story from the beginning.... 20 minutes later...

It was an uproar. Hobie had to hold back Peter Noir. Peter Porker was staring at Gwen and Peter B. as if he didn't understand who he was seeing. Pavi seemed nervous as he helped keep Spider Noir back. The only one who didn't seem to react as badly was Spyder-Byte, and that was only because she didn't understand much of what had happened. "You should have called me! Once you had your hands on that watch, you should have visited me, o-or one of the others." Peni cried out. "Peni, I wasn't allowed to go out on my own. My mission was to track down Spot and take him down before he could affect any other one of the timelines." Gwen explained as she knelt down to Peni's gaze. "I wasn't even supposed to meet Miles-" "Because he's the original anomaly, isn't he? He's the reason this 'Miguel' doesn't want him around or even part of the team." Peter Noir spat out. He'd calm down enough that Hobie had let him go. But Pavi was on the other side of him, so just in case, Hobie had back-up. "I can't believe you trusted that vampire freak in the first place." Peni replied, leaning away from Gwen. "He just seemed to know what he was doing, and had been doing this-" "Hold on. Peter B., you were also aware of this and you did nothing? Why, are you not a parent? Or do you not just like Miles?" Peter Noir spoke up, cutting off whatever it was that Gwen was going to say. Gwen could feel the dread and the anxiety churn in her belly. She took a deep breath as she thought about her response. "Look guys," Spyder Byte interfered, "You all have too many high expectations for Gwen. And I know, it's because we hold each other up to a high standard, being Spider People and all. But you have to remember, we all make mistakes. Gwen is actually trying to fix this one though. That's why she called you all up. She trusts all of you-all of us-to go and save Miles, stop the Spot, and fix this damn multiverse. Now, let's get started, shall we?" They murmured their agreement, heading out before Gwen. Gwen lingered back, but she smiled. The tension that had been there before had disappeared, and it was now time to get to work.

ive thoughts abt the b team

ik i already posted abt this but i wanna elab more.

so yall know how in itsv miles throws a bagel at j. ohn, and he becomes the spot, right? and in a deleted scene olivia says "the power of the multiverse in the palm of my hand" in ref to doc oc in spoderman 2. and guess who says that line in spiderverse 2? spot! why am i bringing this up? im using it as an example of the bonkers foreshadowing in spiderverse. Things often go from cameos and gags to something BIG. Like how miguel ended up being the secondary antagonist in spoderverse. He went from popping up at the end in a gag cameo scene, to being the antagonist of the second half of the second act and the entirety of the third act. My point is little things matter here.

That brings me to my next point. Now, I love the B Team, and I jus want to see more of them in the next one so this may be a little biased.

In ATSV, at the start of the third act when Miguel is explaining canon events to Miles, Peni pops up, and is given a single line. Now, most people dont/didnt think of this as more than a cameo. But I am not most people mon frer. They could've done this with anyone else, literally anyone else from the B Team, or just a random Spider-person. They couldve easily replaced her scene with the crowd of Spider People looking at him disappointed. But they didnt. They draw attention to her, they have miles EXPLICITLY Notice Her and even say her name. They show off her new mech and let the cam linger on her face more.

And then, in the third act, when Miles is running through Earth 42's nyc, we see in the reflection of a building he runs past, specifically, Noir, Ham and Peni. Specifically them, even thought they arent plot relevant. You even hear Porker saying "You cant save everyone,", his line from the first film. My question is. Why. Them. The producers couldve easily shown Gwen, Peter, and Miguel, or hell, His Mom, Dad and Uncle Aaron, hell maybe kingpin and doc oc and the spot! They couldve easily replaced Hams line with Uncle Aarons Keep Going line, or Peters Leap Of Faith line that im p sure shows up idk my memories fuzzy, But no. It was specifically *those three. * and That One Line.

And then at the end, when we see Gwens Spider-gang, we see Peni in her crossed arms pose behind Hobie, and Noir / Ham right behind Gwen in front of Margo. And in that very scene, just seconds before, we see Peni, and we see her smirking back at the camera from the corner of her eye. Now why did they specifically decide to give Peni this knowing look? It would've made sense for Hobie, as hes the one who helped Miles get free from Miguels cage, but why Peni. Last time we saw her she looked depressed, she looked tired.

Now, here is the crux of my theory. I believe, that just like in ITSV, BTSV is gonna come full circle, and make the B-Team extremely plot relevant. I feel like the producers are dropping little breadcrumbs relating to the plot, but not making it so obvious we immediately catch on. Much like The Spot and The Bagel Incident and Miguel and Miles' Spider and the constant showings-up of the number 42.

In ITSV, Peni is literally the one that gets them all to their home dimensions, she is the one that made the new goober, and got them all home. So I feel like she will play a big role in defeating The Spot. And call me crazy, but I feel like her standing behind Hobie at the end might mean that she works with him to create something that will defeat Spot, or make something that will help, most likely relating to the collider, since Hobie did make their watches.

And, vis-a-vis, Ham and Noir (along with Peni and SP//dr's dismembered arm), play a part in defeating Scorpion and Tombstone, and while they werent extremely important to the Plot, they where part of the Sinister 6, and they where the antagonists of ITSV after all. Next to King Pin, that is. All three of them also took out the alchemax employees (Gwen got sidetracked seeing Miles come back tho), and since Miguel is more a man of hand-to-hand and melee combat unlike spot and his portal fuckery, I feel as though they will be pretty instrumental to defeating Miguel, and maybe, his Migbot (cuz of the concept art that got leaked recently).

(Another thing i wanna discuss is the possibility of doc oc making a comeback in BTSV cuz last we saw of her she did get hit by a truck, but in a deleted scene it shows her throwing herself into the collider, but thats another subject for another time.)

Build-A-Hobie?

Billie gawks at the store in front of her wearing her puffy jacket. "WOOW!" Her eyes sparkles at one of her favorite stores.

"Build-A-Bear?" Hobie read the store's name with a questioning tone. He wore a long black thick winter coat with his band shirt, plaided pants and boots all topped with accessories for his style.

Miles wore his own yellow puffer jacket with a scarf and beanie to keep from the cold. This winter there's been so many snow that there was so many blizzards, he can say this season has been cold than the last. He wanted to take his little sister to get a toy. "It's a shop where you make your own teddy bear." He took his boyfriend's hand pulling him into the shop while Billie runs inside with joy.

"Miles, I want this one!" She happily points at one colorful teddy bear with a dream like pastel tie dye design. "This one is gonna be me!" Happy to have her own collection at home.

Miles smiles, "Alright!" He gave her a small high five, "Your gonna give her a cute tutu?"

"Yeah and a princess crown because she's a princess like me." Billie happily said.

Miles giggles for the moment before turning to his boyfriend, he blinks at the way his boyfriend stare at the new limited edition set. "Luv?"

"Hmph?" He hums with a small smile on his face. "Yeah, bae?"

Hobie squints at the set, "What are these?" He points the limited edition set pointing out a specific Spider-man.

Miles giggles, "You mean, the Spider-men set?" It's a whole set of all the Spider-men and Spider-women that appeared in his world. So far, Miguel's, Pavitr, Gwen's, Peter's, his Peter (1610), Ben's, Peni's, Margo's, Noir's, Jess' and his own are all on there. Especially a specific Spider-punk being front in certain. "Or you mean Spider-Punk?" His honey-brown eyes on the Build-A-Bear teddy bear design as a Spider-Punk with it's punk outfit and fake guitar.

"Yeah, why? How?"

"You guys come here pretty often, so it's no surprise people see you guys and starts liking ya'll. I think Gwen has a big fanbases from the LGBT Plus community. "So they are monopolizing me?" Hobie holds the Spider-Punk Teddy Bear seeing the price, it's thirty four American Dollars. "Thirty four dollars for a Spider Punk?"

"You should see these fun figures called Funko Pops. You're basically famous." His Sunflower giggles.

"Meaning?" Hobie trails off.

His boyfriend giggles, "Companies creating merchandising for their own pocket."

"Damn you capitalism!" Hobie said being dramatic as he fall to his knees in the middle of the store. Many people around them turn their heads being freaked out by the random outburst.

One of the retail worker came by to ask if there was something wrong, Miles quickly said, "No, no. He's just being dramatic. He's a huge fan of Spider-man."

"Oh, well I do recommend him getting Spider-punk or the Spider-man that look like panther since those sell out way too fast. And OG Spider-man had been restocked, too. But I noticed the Spider-man with the Jordans, what do we call him? Oh, Tony what do we call this Spider-man?" She holds the black and red Spider-man with the Jordans teddy bear.

"I think Spin or Newbie." Tony, a retail worker giving a shrug as he restock some more teddy bears fabric.

"Yeah, a lot of children been buying him off. " The female retail said, "I think when he came out as Puerto Rican, a lot of Latinos love him."

"Yup!" Tony hums in agreement.

Miles being giddy about his own Spider-man being popular, "Billie, did you hear? They love this Spider-man, too." He holds the Spider-man with Jordans.

Little Billie' eyes gleam at her brother's Spider-man, then took it. "Mmm." She hugs it. Then pulls away seeing the two to pick. "Ummm, mmm. Dis one or dis one?" She wanted to get her brother as Spider-man but she wants of her to complete her family collection. Decisions, decisions!

Miles got to her level, "Awe, boo-boo. How about you get yours? Next time, we'll get Spider-man next time."

"Awe," She nodded.

"I promise, we'll get him next time."

"Okay!" She happily jumps as her brother took the store's teddy bear display before helping her get her own teddy bear fabric.

"Bae, are you done cursing at Capitalism, yet? Because you still need to pick one?" Miles asked.

The punker frowns looking at his Sunflower's Spider-man then the Spider-Punk looks tempted." He huffs taking his Sunflower's Spider-man, "Yeah, I got mine."

"Awe, you're not gonna get Spider-Punk." Miles giggles.

"Luv, you know I rather pick him over that guy," Hobie rolled his Spider-man's name. He never understood why they called his Spider-punk. "Labels are always ruining it."

"Oh yeah?" Miles took his own teddy bear showing a fully stuffed Spider-Punk, "Even if I pick him?" Shyly showing a small smile on his face.

Hobie felt his heart throbbing by such cuteness, "You pick me."

"Mmhmm." His boyfriend happily hug the teddy bear, "He's my bae after all."

His punker leans over to kiss him on the cheek, "Your too cute, Sunflower."

Billie calls them over so she can get her Teddy bear filled with heart, and items for it. Miles happily went over to help and taught his boyfriend how to do it. "Here, you give them a cute heart. Make a wish bae for the bear." He hums at his punker.

Hobie took the small heart then give a kiss, "My heart for my Sunflower." He happily said making Miles flustered as he put the heart inside the bear.

Billie holds her teddy bear as she looks at the cute clothes, "Hmm..."

Miles squat to her level, "You want her to have a pretty dress or a ballerina? Or-Or that cute Strawberry dress?" He pointed at the dresses.

Billie took moment until her eyes lit up finding the perfect outfit for her teddy bear, "That one!" She pointed.

Her brother looks up seeing a cute jean overall with one strap undone, OG Air 1 Jordans and a black shirt with Miles' Spider-man logo. "Awe, boo-boo. You want Spider-man?"

"Huh uh!" Billie happily giggles as her big brother looked so touched by her being his number one fan. "My number one hero!"

"Awwweee, I love you, too." Miles happily hugs and nuzzle his little sister, she's so adorable.

"Hehe!" Billie leans over at Hobie giving a smug grin.

Hobie eyed her, "Alright, bet." He went over to give a kiss on his boyfriend's cheek, "Suuu-uunn-floo-wweer!" He happily sang with his own Miles' Spider-man teddy bear wearing a cute punker shirt of Spider-punk with a hoodie, and jeans with some Jordans. "Lookie."

"Awe, he's adorable, bae!" His boyfriend look flustered at his own Spider-man teddy bear design by his man, "I like the shirt."

"I know, it's Spider-punk." He leans in to give him another kiss on the cheek. "Should he have a happily charming mischievous boyfriend?" He holds the Spider-man in from of his Sunflower waiting for his answer.

"Maybe, but this punker," Miles holds Spider-Punker teddy bear in a full punker jeans, boots, guitar and shirt of Miles' Spider-man logo, "prefers to be known an Anarchist." He playfully let his Spider-punk Teddy bear tap its nose against Hobie's teddy bear, "Mwah!"

"I love how you know me so well." Hobie's heart flutter.

"Hehehe." His Sunflower giggles with his teeth showing off.

Billie happily got her new Teddy bear in her new outfit, "She's boot-tee-full!"

"Yeah, she is. Are you excited to play with her at home, boo-boo." Her big brother asked after they walk out of the store with their new teddy bears.

"YUS! I'ma put it next to mommy and daddy." Billie happily smiles.

Hobie chuckles when they walk out of the mall snow started to fall. "Opp, careful, luvs. You catch a death of cold." He fixes his Sunflower's scarf making sure it covers part of his face. "I'll carry the lass."

"Are you sure?" Miles asked.

"Yeah, the least I can do." The punker picks up Billie so she doesn't need to walk through the slippery parts of the sidewalks.

When they arrived at the Morales' home, Billie happily ran inside kicking her snow boots off. She took her teddy bear out of the plastic bag to go into her room to set her new friend in her new collection.

The other two met the Morales' home being covered with Christmas decorations, and having a Christmas tree in the living room. Rio came out of the kitchen wiping her hands with a damp kitchen towel. "You guys, are home? I saw Billie running by without a hi to me."

"She got a new Teddy bear." Miles took off his coat to put on the hook on the wall.

"Ahh, she must be introducing her new toy to her other Teddy bears." Rio giggles finding it cute, then she saw Miles holding a bag, "You bought one, too."

"Heh, maybe." Miles hums as he took his boyfriend's hand to show him Billie's collection. "Come, bae."

"Hola, mamí Morales." Hobie greeted Rio.

"Hola, Hobie. How was Build-A-Bear?" She saw him carrying a bag, too.

"Fun. I thought it was a bit cheeky marketing off me and Sunflower!" Hobie began.

Rio laughs being amused, "Well, that's what happens when companies want to be greedy!"

Hobie groans, "Terrible, innit?" Before being dragged to check on Billie.

When he went into Billie's room, its a small pink room with butterflies and glow in the dark stars stickers. The room shows toys on the floor, a dresser, closet, bed, everything a five year old needs and wants. Billie stood by a small desk where her Teddy Bears are side by side like a family. She gently strokes the top of her new Teddy bear's head before fixing the overall, "There. Now, you are Billie Bear! You get to meet Daddy Bear and Mommy Bear, they are your parents!" She puts them all together being so happy.

Miles smiles at the way his sister just sat and watch the teddy bears being together. "Awe, are they happy, boo-boo?"

"Huh uh! Daddy Bear and Mommy Bear are so happy to have Billie Bear!" Billie said, "Umm... but-but I hope I can get big brother Bear soon!" She tap her fingers together wanting her big brother to be part of her collection.

"Awe, we can wait for a little bit." Miles snuggles her, "For right now, we can pretend he's Spider-man!"

"But they are sad because he's not home yet." Billie pouts.

Hobie leans at the doorway as he watches the three bears looking a bit bum. Did he see that right? So he dug into his white plastic bag.

Billie and Miles look at the stuffed bears with a warm smile until Hobie put his Teddy Bear in front of Billie, "Here, lass."

"For me?" Billie asked being confused, she took the Teddy bear dressed in her brother's Spider-man suit.

Miles looked up, "Really?"

"Yeah, lil Blu needed a Miles Bear, right? Besides, where will I put mine?" Hobie asked his boyfriend, "Sunflower, I know you only took me to enjoy the process of making the toy and living my childhood. I love every minute of it, but my teddy will get awfully lonely. Don't you think?"

His Sunflower nodded with a small smile on his face, "Right, bae." He leans over to Billie, "Mira, Boo-boo. Hobie gave you a Miles Bear. Do you accept him into your collection?"

"Huh uh!" The five year old girl got up to hug Hobie, "Gracias, Hobie. I luv it!"

"Awe, lass. You're welcome." Hobie hugs her back before letting her go.

"Miles Bear, welcome home!" She tightly hugs her new gift before placing it next to family of bears. "Now, I need an Obie bear!" She looks at her big brother.

Hobie felt touched. Miles giggles, "I see. Of course, he can live here, Boo-boo." He went into his own plastic bag to give Billie his Spider-punk Teddy bear.

She happily hugs the bear and her brother, "Thank you! Because Obie bear will get sad without Miles Bear!"

"That is so true. Hobie Bear is clingy like my Hobie." Miles casually said.

"Sunflower, all have you know I am the most clingiest out of all the Hobies." His punker huffs.

Billies places the Spider-punk bear next to Miles bear. Now the Morales Bear Family is finally completed. "It's boo-teee-full! They look so happy!" She went to Hobie as he picked her up.

The three look at the family of bears seeing a warm ambiance, like they are seeing those Teddy bears smiled. They are complete and filled with love being together.

"Awe, look at that." Rio walks in seeing the complete collection, "They look so happy."

Jeff follows in wanting to see his daughter's collection, "Is it me or are they smiling?"

"They are, papá! They are!" Billie giggles.

"You think there's a universe of us being toy bears?" Miles quietly asked his boyfriend.

"I like to think so." His punker said, "Another us, being happily together." That made his Sunflower smile even wider.

"Yeah, so very happy." Miles lay his head on his boyfriend shoulder. "I love you, Hobie."

"Me too, Sunflower."

Billie bud in, "Me three! I love Miles! And I luv Obie!"

"Awe!" Miles kisses Billie's right cheek while Hobie kisses her left cheek. "We love you, too!" This made the little girl giggling with joy.

what're your fave parts of peni's comics so far if you had to choose?

HELLO RYIN. Good question! My answer leans more towards the Spiderverse 5 issue, but I made sure to get as many points from Spidergeddon 2 as well. Equality. Even if I like 5 better. This has Images so I'm putting it under the cut due to length.

Starting with 5 for some vague chronologicality, I really love Mysterio, which I didn't expect first time through as he's.. a massive creep, frankly. I think its mainly that he feels realistically lame and surface-level; he wants to be known, wants fear, but he goes down in a single hit. For all his talk, and his intelligence, he's just.. a guy. Also, this panel. It looks neat. They should give SP//DR more arms.

Same comic issue, fantastic back to back shots comparing Peni, SP//DR, and this universe's Daredevil;

I really love how it gives so much contrast. Peni is a kid in that suit, and through her conversation with Daredevil here, you can tell how much she wishes she knew her father, and thusly, how great (and illusive) a figure she's living up to - the SP//DR is greater than anything in her life, and any people. Even the coworkers that knew the previous pilot loom over her, not that they really knew him.

I have more I love about this issue, but these were the best visual examples that wouldn't take as many words. Moving on to 2;

M.O.R.B.I.U.S. I'm very confused what this thing is, but I respect a vampire spider kaiju where I see it. Goddamn. A note for design on the next appearing (and main for this issue) villain, I love how this particular panel conveys a sort of restraint or pain to VEN#M's movements;

Even with May and Addy assumedly dead or near-dead at this point, what's left of their will is trying to stop it from hurting her. It makes me curious how much a pilot imprints on its mech's consciousness, even when the brain and body is gone. It's unfortunate we didn't get too much lore on what this thing is, or what happens of it - unless I'm missing comics.

The final detail I like from 5 is Uncle Ben and the continued characterization of him and her Aunt never quite getting Peni, nor seeming to remember her preferences of food (the other instance in 2 being that she's going vegetarian).

While I'm sad that she clearly got so few pages to tell any sort of story, I'm very curious of the relationships (or lack thereof) they build between her and her guardians - its all work, business, the next mission, therefore they can't really find anything to connect with her over that isn't work and expectations. Of course they can't! Both are bound to the program that snatched her up to fill the space they had when the program killed her dad. She's not so much human as she is a worker, a cog, so human connections in this environment are.. stiffled. All of them seem lonelier for it. It's compelling in the scraps of moments they put aside to show it.
