I'd blame curriculum any day over the teacher for this one. I remember learning WW2 almost all the time in middle school. I swear every year history class went to it at least once or something. It wasn't until highschool that it diversified into different history subjects and became ... Slightly better.

#i have a whole tangent on how US education doesn't actually care about educating and moreso just wants repetition and memorization for tests #there are fantastic teachers all around but the grand curriculum dominates all #for aome subjects its fine but for others it leads to knowing something just for a test and not actually #retaining the knowledge #you can blame the kids all you want but tou have them in school for 8 hours and then at home doing home work for #hours #and then they're supposed to develop interests some how and be in clubs or sports?#i have a whole thing about this stuff #and yet... i debate on teaching #or did before threats of dismantling
