I was reading some of the annotations to the Hadestown soundtrack on Lyric Genius, and I think if people understood a little bit of Marxist economics, they'd understand Hadestown better.

#Hadestown #the number of times when I thought 'this is just like Capital vol. 1' when listening to the soundtrack...#and then people are like 'Hades is a dictator' 'the workers are blind followers' like shut UP. It's capitalism. It's just capitalism #and Hades himself said the workers were rioting before Orpheus got there!#'Orpheus' reliance on strength in numbers is his weakness because he's alone at the end' like???? NO?!?!???#His weakness is that he listened to the Fates and lost his vision of what he's fighting for #my post
