important question: what do you call two skeins of hand-dyed yarn that are the same colorway, but come from different dye lots? like... sibling skeins?
#this came about because i was thinking to myself#“these aren't identical twins they're more fraternal”#when looking at two skeins of the same colorway but different lots#and then my brain went “but they weren't conceived together nor delivered together”#so then i started thinking things through#and thought identical would be same dye lot/same appearance#and THEN i was like “no they have to split”#so i thought mini-skeins from the same parent#and THEN i was like “but they have to separate in the dyebath instead of after delivery”#and that seems like a bad path to keep going down#craftycoola.txt#craftblr#p: irradiate
