So I'm 120 hours into Tears of the Kingdom and I gotta say
Initially I was somewhat disappointed because it felt like I'd burned through 2/3s of the story really really quickly and that was one of my complaints with BotW that the actual plot content was quite minimal and the long playtime was mostly busywork and collectibles nonsense.
Anyway I pumped the breaks and started cleaning up my sidequests and checked my hour count and
"Played for 75 hours or more" OH. I was expecting like. 30. Apparently I'd been having so much fun that it felt like less than half the actual time I'd been playing.
I'm almost done with my collected sidequests so I'll progress the plot again once I've finished clearing them out but I do think that's a mark of a good game design, to make someone have so much fun that they don't realize how long they've been playing because it doesn't feel like work. A lot of these open world games fall into that trap so it's nice to see Nintendo trying to pull away from it because BotW definitely was there.
And for me honestly I consider it money well spent if I get at least an hour of playtime for dollar spent. I only spent like 11 on this because I know Gamestop Secrets but the game was 70 USD at release and I would consider any less than 70 hours of fun to be a ripoff at that point. This is also my reasoning for what DLC I do or don't buy- I am not spending 20 USD for 2-4 hours of additional gameplay.
Anyway it's loads of fun and the gameplay loop is fun and enjoyable without getting too repetitive. I'm definitely not planning to 100% it but I do want to finish what I've started because it's engaging. You will never convince me to find 1000 fucking Koroks or whatever I'm not doing that, but also I've got over half of the shrines down and most of the armor sets at this point.

So here’s my list so far of what I’m looking forward to after E3. Final Fantasy VII Remake: What can I say other than I’m excited! I’m concerned after the announcement from Square Enix that they’re not sure how long they’ll do the episodes. I believe in SE’s quality with their games but their biggest issue in my opinion is releasing all the content in a timely and orderly fashion. I think FFVII Remake only took as long as it did because they were working on numerous other projects. I hope the remake will be fine and we all get to enjoy (in a reasonable span of time). I also hope there’ll be a PC release in the future as it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to have titles like FFXIII and FFXV be multi-platform but not FFVII. Master Chief Collection: It’s been a long time coming since I first started playing Halo as a wee lad in middle school. I remember fondly of long nights with friends clearing CE’s Library on Legendary after dozens of hilarious fails. Then I remember spending hundreds if not thousands of hours in Halo 2 grinding in the competitive scene and meeting so many cool and often times awful people and having my first real online experience. Halo 3 I was only able to play through friends as back in that gen I chose PS3 over the Wii and 360 (which I don’t really regret). So with the MCC being announced for PC this gives me the perfect opportunity to relive those golden days with friends and experience new ones as well. Ghostwire Tokyo: Looks good and I’m putting my trust in Ikumi and her team as they’ve done some great things before. My only gripe is we need to see actual gameplay and not just a cinematic. E3 is often rife with cinematic and pre-recorded gameplay that often gives us the impression things are going swimmingly when they’re not. I’m not aware of if gameplay will be shown soon but I’ll be looking out for it. Astral Chain: It’s by PlatinumGames who was behind Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising so I have a lot of faith this title will kick ass. I do have an issue with it being a Switch exclusive but I’ll retain some hope it’s ported to PC and/or PS4/XB1 in the future. So far gameplay looks smooth and the battle system including the Chimera partners could make for some cool combos. Maybe we can see some cuhrazy stuff like in DMC and Bayonetta...? We’ll have to wait and see. Fire Emblem Three Houses: I have my concerns with the newer Fire Emblem games but I won’t put this one down until I see more of it. My hope is that it’s a fun title with a great story and adds elements from the older games like stamina and enemy unit capture from Thracia 776. Not too much to say but I did like the designs of some of the characters and the fact it takes a very serious tone from the get go. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Sequel: I’m pretty behind in LoZ titles with my most recent ones being Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, and Phantom Hourglass. I’ll do my best to catch up but a direct sequel with the BotW world looks exciting. Just the trailer alone invokes a lot of questions and “Hmmms” trying to figure out what it all means. I’ll be sure to think about it once I’ve caught up with my backlog of games to play. Other than that if there’s any other titles I missed that comes up I’ll add it to another post. But right now I’m pretty excited for what’s been shown so far.

What'cha playing video game wise, Jaz?
Need to finish AC Valhalla but I'm having a hard time staying on track. I got Sigurd back and he's a bag of dicks and I knooooooow it ties into the story and I knoooooooow being a bag of dicks after being tortured for weeks (months? unclear how much time has passed) is a pretty normal trauma response but also. Currently he's a jerk and Eivor's dedication to him while he's being a jerk is admirable but I can't relate. The game is fun but the story right now is not particularly rewarding. I don't like doing a lot of work and bringing it to someone only for them to throw it in my face and tell me I'll never be good enough. So I don't really like where I am in the plot atm.
So instead of being mad at Sigurd all the time, I'm playing Harvestella and working on finishing that. Truly it did not deserve the wankfest made about it when it first came out. I will say having gotten much farther, it's less "final fantasy meets stardew valley" which I think set a lot of people up for expectations that would absolutely not be met. It's more "Nier series with some farming/gathering elements" and even makes more than a few heavyhanded Nier Automata references. People (myself included) saw SquareEnix on the cover and assumed Final Fantasy and I think that was overall detrimental to its reception because it's very not a FF game but it's probably as close to a Yoko Taro game as you can get without having him on staff. I've been a fan of his stuff since the original Drakengard so I'm fine with that but his stuff is *weird* and often weird in really unexpected ways, so if you're not expecting that out the gate it can be a pretty big shock.
I am still not sure if I want to actually play FFVII Evercrisis- I'm interested in the additions to the overall lore and plot and I like the convenience of having the full compilation in one easy-to-access location (including supposedly a few Japan-only entries I never actually got ahold of) but at the same time the demo was pretty micro-transation-y and as a general rule I hate gacha systems especially when they rely on real money to use. First Soldier was one thing because the gacha stuff was mostly cosmetic, and you didn't need the gacha weapons or armor to win (as evidenced by my wins having spent 0 money on anything). But the Evercrisis demo had gacha items needed for progression which means inevitabily I'm going to hit a wall and not be able to progress the story without spending money, and I hate games that do this.
Once I'm done with Valhalla it'll be Elden Ring (thanks @khayr !) and then FFVII Rebirth will probably be out by the time I'm done with it, which I'll play to death I'm sure. I still have to play Horizon Forbidden West (thanks follower whose URL I can't find again) and then go back and play the additional content I have for KH3, Ghost of Tsushima, and the new update stuff for Ghostwire Tokyo... as well as various switch games I need to just finish already... oh and the new Y's is coming out soon and at some point I need to snag FFXVI... and then there's AC Mirage whenever that releases plus I'm really looking forward to Red and Jade... and besides I have to go back and actually finish Origins and start Odessey (and black flag, and rogue, and unity...)

Yeah message me and I'll shoot you my discord info and we can talk it out there? I mostly emulate on my phone these days but PC isn't a bad option if your computer is halfway decent. I just vastly prefer the ability to lay down to play, due to my back injury. I have to be moderately upright to play on PC and that strains my back to a fairly ridiculous point.
Also meant to say; my "not interested" list absolutely includes games I've beaten, so it's not always a mark against their quality or how much fun I had while playing. I genuinely liked Animal Crossing, I just... I've played it to death, after 70+ hours there's nothing really there to interest me in coming back anymore.
I had a feeling I wouldn't like Brilliant Diamond because I hated Gen4 to the point where I initially abstained from Gen5, then a friend got it for me for my birthday and, yeah, don't like this nearly as much as PLA. It's not bad per say it's just Gen4 which is my least favorite generation. Tales of Arise was a really fun game that had a very stupid last arc/chapter and I beat it but I'm not really interested in replaying or going back to 100% it as a result. Shadow of War similarly I beat once, and stuck to it because I was genuinely happy to run around Mordor/Middle Earth some more, but also... really not the gameplay style I prefer, took a lot of liberties with canon (which is why ROP-haters who like the Shadow of Mordor/War games are hypocritical), and had a stupid ending. So, again, not really interested in going back.
I actually had Ghostwire Tokyo on my "not interested in returning" list despite *really* liking the game just because the ending felt very final and I wasn't particularly interested in 100%ing the collectables, but like the day after I put it on that list the devs released a bunch of new content including a sidestory so now of course I'm interested in diving back in. My "not interested" list are games that I'm willing to trade in or sell, which is what makes them different from "beat it, liked it" because "beat it, liked it" are games that I may return to for bonus content, just to get closer to 100%, or replay entirely because I liked them so much. Same with Ghost and KH3- there's new content in the form of DLCs that I'm interested in so while I'm not super interested in playing KH3 again I do want to play Re:Mind, and Ghost of Tsushima has the Iki Island expansion plus supposedly more content in the base game which I liked well enough to play a third time I guess.
@scutellatebooted (won't let me tag you?)

Purple checkmarks: beat it, liked it
Blue dot: playing it, have to finish it at some point
Yellow dot: haven't started
Turquoise dot: not interested in playing it anymore, whether I've beaten it or not
Tales of Arise and Shadow of War are also under the Turquoise dot but I don't have them on my shelf anymore so they are not pictured
If you're looking for suggestions, that's currently what's sitting on my shelf. Horizon Forbidden West was given to me as a digital code, and there's some stuff on Steam obviously not featured here, but yeah.
