#also i think based on some of the calls to boycott rebecca yarros over something distantly related to i/p i thought she was jewish#but the writing had me going 'hmm this is all feeling a little more jesus-shaped than i expected'#(you know how some fantasy series are just super invested in a narrative style that is all Chosen One and whatnot in that very xtian way)#and then from her bio and acknowledgments it became immediately apparent that she's mormon#which is fine but like. i had a little hope for a different narrative shape
