if sophie had a younger sister literally nothing in Offer would've happened. if she'd had a brother things would be different as well, only in another way (he would've been legitimized when araminta failed to cough up an heir, for example), but if she'd had a little sister to protect...... all of that happened because she was so terribly alone in the world
