6 and 144

This post is a continuation of looking at the number 6. The number 6 seems to be about about physical completion. It would be helpful to read my prior post on 6 and vav.  There also seems to be correlation between the meaning of 6 and 144.  This would continue to shed light on the correct understanding of what God is conveying to us in Revelation and the number 144.

Some of this info is old material but I am going to try to pull it together to help convey what I believe God is conveying.

The first time the number six is used in the Bible is at the completion of chapter 1 and physical creation.

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day

Strong’s H8345 = ”sixth” and it has an in text gematria of 615.

Notice how this 615 gematria of “sixth” matches two physical completions tied to a chapter 6 verse 15 or 6:15 = 615.

Ezra 6:15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king

Nehemaih 6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Both physical completions occur in a chapter 6. The house was finished in the sixth year.  The wall was finished in the month Elul which is the sixth month.

6 days is 144 hours.  So God finished His creation in 6 days or 144 hours.

This is verse 144, chapter 6 and verse 6.

Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Strong’s H144 = ”adar” and is used once.

Ezra 6:15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king

The above verse is verse 12167 and is 14400 verses before Lazarus is raised in verse 26567:

John 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

Recall Lazarus has an in-text gematria of 144.  He is also the sixth resurrection recorded in the Bible. There are 3 OT resurrections.  Lazarus is the third NT resurrection, thus he is the sixth Biblical resurrection.

In the Bible a day is equated to 1000 years.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

A common jewish understanding is that there would be 6 days or 6000 years then the day of rest or 1000 year millenial reign as Revelation calls it.

So just as after 6 days or 144 hours of physical creation and then God rested there is assumed to be 6 days /6000 years or 144 hours/144,000 hours until God’s house is complete and there is a Sabbath day of rest.

In Revelation we see this 144 and 144,000 number used.  I believe this should be seen as the complete Church that was created/ will be created over the first 6 days/6000 years.

Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel

Each time we see the 144/144,000 number there is another picture of a joining (the 6th letter Vav means to join) to Heaven or that which is spiritual.  The number 6 refers to the physical completion but the physical is meant to overcome and “become” spiritual.  The number 7 signifies this spiritual perfection.

We first see in Revelation 7 the 144,000 need to be sealed before judgement can begin.  After they are sealed and complete we then see a great multitude (Abraham covenant) standing before the throne.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

In Revelation 14 we see the 144,000 standing with the Lamb on Mount Zion.  Later we are shown one like the Son of man (title for Jesus) sitting on a cloud (we are to meet Him in clouds per 1 Thessalonians 4:17) harvesting the earth.

Revelation 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Revelation 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. In Revelation 21 John is seeing Jerusalem descend as a bride ready for her husband and when he is describing the city he sees its measurement of 144.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Obviously what is inferred is that the Bride will marry her husband.

The 2 Christchurch earthquakes point to the 6th month Elul.

The first earthquake on 9-4-2010 which happened on Elul 25 at 4:35.

Strong’s H 435=”Elul” and used in the completion of the wall which is symbolic picture of the church.  Recall also the wall of Revelation is 144.  The earthquake and the wall completion were on the same day.

Nehemiah 6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Recall also 435 is the number of years Jared, the sixth, lived after Enoch was taken. Jared numbers are tied to completion also-see my posts on him.

The second Christchurch earthquake happened  on 2-22-2011. 185 people were killed unfortunately.

185 is the gematria of the acronym of Elul meaning “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine”

Song of Solomon 6:3 I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.

So both Christchurch earthquakes point to the sixth month, Elul and completion.

When I think of Christ, church, and earthquake I think of the great earthquake mentioned in revelation in conjunction with the “resurrection and rapture” of the 2 witnesses, the Church.

Revelation 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Revelation 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven

When God descended on mount Sinai there was a great earthquake. I believe this is a picture of what will happen when Christ returns.

Exodus 19:18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

There are 2 great earthquakes recorded in the New Testament.

The first is the descending of an angel of the Lord and the resurrection.

Matthew 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it

The second is a hidden type of resurrection.

Acts 16:26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Elul 1 begins the 40 days of repentance.  The king is said to be in the field, meaning He wants to meet with you.  I have wondered if something begins Elul 1 when Christ returns.  I have wondered the meaning of the 2 Christchurch earthquakes pointing to Elul.
