I know the series isn't perfect; but I much prefer Fire Emblem's portrayal of authority as inherently flawed (whether that be political, religious, or otherwise) than Legend of Zelda's "the Kingdom of Hyrule is just and righteous and everything it does is pure and good".

#i know FE isn't perfect in that respect either #and that loz's emphasis is on adventure and coming-of-age so it's not going to have as much political intrigue #and also that games like wind waker and twilight princess where the ethics/morality of the gods and kingdom are called into question exist #but FE at least places more emphasis on these themes and executes them (slightly) better imo #not trying to start a war here but #legend of zelda #fire emblem
