Post Binghe falling into the abyss, Shen Qingqiu is adjusting to his new normal: Shang Qinghua is fucking Airplane and they forge all these plans to survive Binghe with no less limbs. Ok, so, Shen Qingqiu starts paying attention to one of his students.

Not that kind of attention that Shen Qingqiu was accused of, it's just that the girl is a fucking mess in an insane way. She has the face of a sweet, tender girl with big eyes and two chaotic bows, but she has the mouth of a truck driver, doesn't seem to have the slightest rule of decorum, she's terrible with the sword, and if it weren't for Shen Qingqiu briefly remembering her as a good but quiet student, he wouldn't even pay attention to the new her.

Shen Qingqiu doesn't want to make hasty accusations... BUT it does not know how to clear up any doubts in this regard. That is to say, that girl could easily be another transmigrator surviving in a chaotic novel terrified of papapa plants. Shen Qingqiu calls the girl to his bamboo house. She arrives, clearly intimidated, until Shen Qingqiu simply:

"Meimei, why in the fucking hell were you reading PIDW?! You're not even sixteen, for fuck's sake!! That... It's unbecoming and vulgar and disgusting!"

The girl looks at him, squinting. Her face goes from horror to genuine surprise.

"... A-Yuan!?"

"What other damn brother that knows PIDW do you have, you chaotic girl! What's wrong with you!? Leaving these notes around!? Careless! What if someone else found out about them?!"

Shen Qingqiu can't continue ranting because the girl's strong arms are squeezing him. Oh well. It's okay. She's his little sister. And he'd missed holding her.

She tells him. Shen Yuan had died and his family was sad, which was to be expected, but she had only become a little obsessed. It couldn't be that Shen Yuan was so obsessed with this weird novel. From Shen Yuan's account I had all the paid content available; and as embarrassing as it was, his comments were the most chaotic and extensive, typical of him, and reading the damn disgusting thing and Shen Yuan's comments she could feel closer to him.

They drink tea, eat snacks, catch up. His little sister was just seventeen when she woke up after a car accident with her friends in the body of a girl cultivator with a system screaming orders at her. Complete quests. Improve your cultivation level. Don't get punished by your Shizun. Be a good NPC. She definitely didn't agree, but since she was just a barely mentioned NPC, she knew little about her character's personality and all that. The System wasn't so disgusting in that regard with her.

Shen Qingqiu tells her what he's been doing, what he's been going through. He couldn't stop Binghe from the abyss arc, but he's tried to be a better Shizun for him. She tells him that she thought it was very OoC for Shen Qingqiu to be like a mourning widow, but since the novel was never explored in depth, it was not really given any importance.

She promises to improve as a cultivator. Just to be useful in case Binghe returns and her brother needs her help. Shen Qingqiu gives her new manuals and gives some things from the Shen Qingqiu collection to improve her cultivation.

And his Meimei gets much better after that. She is still a messy girl who at least once a week has a fight with one of his other students over some comment they made or something she found "rude and sexist". And they spend more time together. They cultivate pure qi on "missions" that Shen Qingqiu took her on, Shen Qingqiu gets sword accessories like bows and beads for her, she starts using colouring fans imitating her brother.

There are rumors, of course. It's part of Shen Qingqiu lore after all. His Meimei makes vomiting gestures every time one of her shishu suggests it with concern and although she is scolded for her misbehavior, the truth is that she is honest.

She grows. From a wild herb she becomes a beauty flower. She is strong, rude, with a bad temper, with a sharp tongue, without any kind of decorum. She has fun showing her bare ankles and scandalizing her classmates, playing rough with her crop friends, having fun at the expense of Shen Qingqiu and Shang Qinghua and their plans that always go wrong. And reality hits Shen Qingqiu: her little sister is beautiful and strong and now he fears that Binghe wants to take her as his wife.

Of course, Shang Qinghua has already thought of that. When Meimei is asked, she makes a face. No, thanks. She would gladly accept Sha Hualing if we are talking about demons, but she doesn't think that being a wife of Binghe is anything but drama. Look at all those wives and he's still not satisfied! Meimei theorizes that it's definitely because Binghe must be a closet gay. Shen Qingqiu is horrified while Shang Qinghua laughs out loud.

Time passes. She becomes in almost the main disciple. Shen Qingqiu doesn't make it written, it really is still Binghe, he has never eliminated or replaced those scrolls... But his little sister is a strong cultivator who is good at insulting anyone and even haggling over noodles at a street stall. And of course, Shizun's pet: she has her fans that he has painted himself, accessories that he has given her, bows on her sword that he himself has bought for her. Aggressive towards others like a poodle off a leash and spoiled by Shizun, holding his arm, dragging him, treating him with no respect when no one is looking... that is the first view Luo Binghe gets of her in Jin Lan City.

Which is definitely not a good thing.

Oh, of course Luo Binghe sees things of his Shizun in her. He recognizes the ribbons in her hair how belonging to his Shizun, the style of brushwork on the flowers painted on her fan. He watches from afar as how Shizun is trying to protect her, as she orbits him with admiration and protection that hides in disrespect.

Luo Binghe barely remembers that classmate of his. Quiet and shy, suddenly being a nosy social chaos too close to his Shizun. But no problem. Luo Binghe has returned to claim what is his!

...

There are definitely too many misunderstandings on the table. Well, Meimei at least has functional neurons and not gymnasts, so something might work out. At least for now she's still having fun (and very relieved to note that she actually shouldn't have even worried that Binghe wanted her as a wife. Ha! In your face bro!)

He would absolutely have been on tumblr in his first life, he gets so excited about his blorbo who treats him terribly (until they finally get a happy ending in the extras - also! he has to wait for the extras to get his happy ending! very side-character of him). He holds the fascinating position of being mostly irrelevant to the story and yet without him the themes would totally fail. He deserves a win on something for once, okay?

Submission: uhm she isn't a Side character ? but she is referenced heavily by the main character and the subtext. This is integral to the plot of SVSSS because the subtext is where it's actually at. If all you do is read the book you will have several misconceptions of the plot. Anyway Shen Yuan!Shen Qingqiu is a metaphorical Helen of Troy within the story AND HE FUCKING SAYS THIS HIMSELF INSUSJSKS
