The hedgehog disappears from view into one of the corridors but not before spindashing a G.U.N. trooper and taking its rifle. The President feels like his beliefs are crushing and burning around him like Central City is right now. “But he and Sonic—” “Sonic,” the Commander interrupts, “has been seen in Westopolis with him. These hedgehogs are all the same and care only about the Chaos Emeralds.” “Sir!” one of the G.U.N. soldiers on the radio calls out. “Shadow the Hedgehog got the Chaos Emerald!” A pointed look is passed from one man to another, and a smidge of doubt settles.

The architecture of the place with its maze of corridors, sometimes having to use the rails outside to navigate, – all while dodging lasers and stray shots – continues to make him feel worse, angrier. It is too similar to the ARK in a way. With his grief still eating at him as well… The irregularly working fans placed on his route feel like they’re here just to make his life miserable. Infuriating.When he gets out of another windy hallway with his spines all askew and rage overflowing his heart, the first shot taken at him makes him snap. Grabbing a discarded splitter, Shadow unloads the whole thing at both the G.U.N. Beetle firing at him and every other robot nearby with a scream.
