is it problematic to play a fc that's 19? ive been seeing mixed opinions about this, some groups accepting them and others not. one group asked me to change the fc for my character because of it but accepted a male fc that was 19 so im confused. i dont agree with using underage resources EVER but i am a 19 year old myself & don't intend on writing smut ever but i guess it makes other people uncomfortable perhaps? what's your opinion?

Again, I'd like to apologize for how long this was sitting in my inbox. I needed to build up to coming on Tumblr today, you know? Anyway, while I'd usually I’d say it's not problematic (personally 19 is my “absolute youngest acceptable fc age” at this point), especially with you being 19 yourself. But this year especially, with the pandemic and how complicated 2020 and 2021 had been, honestly it depends on the faceclaim and their footage / content. If you’re using someone like Sadie Sink, whose current film release schedule was all filmed at 17 due to the pandemic, I’d also advise changing fcs because I’m pretty sure the only footage she’d have above age is her IG at this point, and I’m not sure how much of a resource pool you’d build from that. If they’re 19 turning 20 this year, or have a lot of content (for example, YouTubers thrived with the whole global situation so there's footage is aplenty for them), I think that’d be fine as long as filming dates were all 18+

But I’m aware the RPC has different opinions on these things, and this isn't completely black and white past the whole "please don't rp as fcs who freshly turned 18" and "please don't use underaged resources / fcs" honestly. Plus, I personally do think mun age is a factor in these situations. Like would I personally use a 19 year old fc at this point? Not really because of the point in life I'm at, but I also don't think there's anything wrong with using one. Especially when you're in that age range yourself. If anyone else wants to weigh in, please feel free, but in my personal opinion - yeah it's fine if a 19 year old wants to use a 19 year old fc, but with the pandemic complications, be careful with your resources.

I'm more than willing to help try to find production dates / filming dates on projects if you need help too. (Figured I'd offer, with all this talk of dates.) Anyway, I hope you're doing well, and I'd rec politely/calmly talking to the admins off of anon too about the situation too, just in case, if it's possible to do so.
