Free VCHA TW: Mentions of Suicide, Eating Disorders, Unconsentual Surveilence and Self-Harm
I don't even know where to start...
My heart absolutely breaks for VCHA right now.
Hearing about everything they’ve been through- the self-harm, the gained ED's, the surveillance, the suicide attempts- it’s devastating.
Especially when those girls minors as well.
No one, especially young girls, should ever have to endure this kind of pain just to chase their dreams.
The fact that KG is filing a lawsuit to terminate her contract says so much about the conditions she’s been facing.
This isn’t just about one group or one company- it’s an industry-wide problem.
And let me preface-
before anyone starts directing all their anger at J.Y. Park, it’s crucial to understand that he isn’t the one pulling the strings- especially in the subsidaries.
Yes, he’s the face of JYP Entertainment and a prominent figure in the industry, but he’s not micromanaging every decision or daily operation involving artists like VCHA. Decisions about trainee management, promotional schedules, or group dynamics are typically made by a network of executives, managers, and staff within the company. J.Y. Park might set the tone as a founder, but the way the system functions extends far beyond him.
Instead of focusing on hating or blaming one person, we should direct our energy toward challenging the larger system. This isn’t just a “JYP problem”- it’s an issue ingrained in the ENTIRE entertainment industry, where idols are often seen as products rather than people.
Real change requires dismantling the exploitative practices and structures that allow mistreatment to happen, no matter which company is involved. Let’s shift the conversation to fight the system that perpetuates this harm, rather than focusing on an individual who is only a visible part of it.
These are kids debuting in hyper-competitive, high-pressure environments, with their lives micromanaged for profit. The secrecy VCHA endured pre-debut only adds to the emotional strain. I hope this lawsuit opens more eyes to the toll this industry takes on these artists.
This year alone has been a disaster for the industry. There have been countless reports of idol abuse, mistreatment, and even deaths linked to the extreme pressures idols face. The tragic situation with VCHA is just another example in a long line of issues that need to be addressed. The exploitation of minors and idols in general in the K-pop industry is a problem that can’t be ignored any longer. It’s beyond time for a widespread reckoning, where the industry shifts its focus from maximizing profits to truly caring for the well-being of its artists.
I hope KG’s lawsuit, along with the attention that this case is receiving, opens more eyes to the toll the industry takes on its artists- especially those who are still so young.
These idols deserve more than just our admiration; they deserve our empathy, our support, and a system that treats them as people, not products. My heart goes out to KG and the rest of VCHA, and I pray they find the healing and support they so desperately need.
They are worth so much more than the system that’s failed them.

so @gayswithguitars has brought it to my attention that not many people know the shit the mormon church has been doing with baptisms of the dead so as someone raised in the church who was manipulated into doing this i'd like to break it down.
so the mormon church has the view that only people who have been baptized as a mormon can get into heaven. their solution to the question of "what about people who didn't get baptized" is that when people go to the temple they could perform proxy baptisms on the behalf of the deceased so that the souls of the unbaptized dead had to opportunity to get to heaven.
the church told us that we were doing gods work by assisting these poor souls who were stuck in "spirit prison" and were helping people to make the right choice. to even get into the temple in the first place you need to have what's called a temple recommend. you can get these once you're twelve years old and have a meeting with the bishop for him to verify that you're worthy of getting into the temple. this meeting includes a twelve year old child in a room alone with the bishop (who is often a middle aged or old man) where the bishop asks you questions about how you have been following the teachings of the church. questions such as "do you masterbate?", "are you sexually active?", and "are you paying 10% of your money to the church?". these temple recommends need to be renewed once a year, which includes another interview with the bishop.
getting your first temple recommend is treated like a right of passage and is celebrated by family and friends so that you're excited to get it and be able to go to the temple. it's incredibly manipulative and i personally know many people who have been asked incredibly inappropriate things in these interviews and some have even experienced sexual abuse during these interviews with a locked door, an old man, a child, and questions on masterbation.
once you get to actually doing the baptisms of the dead you are lined up with 20-60 other people your age, all dressed from head to toe in white jumpsuits provided by the church (which included white underwear ew). each person will be given a pile of names to baptize when it's their turn. during these sessions anywhere from twenty to several hundred deceased people without their consent. i'll link here a post talking about their unconsentual baptisms here.

Caleb. I think. I don’t think it’s amnesia but it’s definitely a form of memory loss. He has very scattered memories of the past and can have trouble with remembering the present.
I don’t know if I’ve revealed the why, but now seems like a good place as any. [cw for supposed breaking and entering, abusive familial relationships, gaslighting, body horror and unconsentual medical experimentation from this point onwards]
So Caleb (he’s about 12 at this point) and his brother Callum (18) (their parents were not creative with names) were left orphaned after what Caleb assumed was a home invasion while he was at school, so the two went on the run to try and find a new home. They ended up entering this organisation that seemed to be an orphanage. Callum rose in the ranks to be one of the staff members and Caleb ended up befriending some of the kids there. Everything seemed to be well, at least from what Caleb saw.
In truth, the organisation was dedicated to experimenting on people who were gifted and able to wield power sources called Iridium Pearls. They harvested the raw power from the users, often leaving them dead or “hollowed”. Callum was initially on the table for sacrifice, but he ended up fighting against them and seemingly awakened his IP power: control. He puppeted his would-be attackers, even managing to harm a few before being detained. The organisation thought him a useful asset, so kept him on board. Callum didn’t have any qualms about the whole human sacrifice thing.
After all, he had awakened his powers very early in a much weaker form. It was still enough to stop his parents from running when he killed them.
Callum utilised his powers to the organisation’s benefit, able to swallow the grimmer aspects whilst still juggling the niceties others came to know him for. When Caleb was to be sacrificed, he didn’t bat an eye. He was curious though - what powers did he have? What was his potential? And how could it further goals? As it turns out, Caleb has the power to contain things, which Callum thought useful. Often the IP energy was too chaotic to handle by oneself, so to have it managed and contained, unable to resist, was useful. But IP can be extremely corruptive… which is good that Caleb is doing it, not him.
So tldr: Caleb isn’t sacrificed and has a job. Only he’s started getting unexplained aches and pains, and he’s noticing weird discolouration on his body, most notably his arm and face. He tries raising this concern to Callum, as well as the whole “harvesting energy from people” thing. You know, are we the baddies?
So Callum removes his memory of ever asking. And he does so the next day. And the next. So it’s probably best he doesn’t know about the experiments. Or the times where his friends vanish. Oh, and of life before being here. He’s asking questions again, remove his memories. No, you’re crazy for thinking this is wrong! This is good! It’s all you ever known! Shut up! I’m right!! Know your place! Remove that memory so he isn’t traumatised. Remove that one too, too much to question.
Each memory that is removed is just that: the memory. His corruption continues. His hand forms to a claw. His eye crusts over, rendering him blind in one. He stops asking questions out of fear. Caleb is scared; he’s a monster and he doesn’t know why. All his friends leave, but did he ever have friends? He can only trust his brother, but even he grows cold and distant. When mundane authorities come to investigate, Caleb is told to hide. When IP investigate, Caleb is told to put himself to use and hold them off. He’s a disappointment if he fails, and could do so much better if he succeeds. When asking about his failing memories, he’s told it’s a side effect of the corruption and is told to be more careful or it’ll worsen and he won’t be able to talk or fend for himself. He’s already stated forgetting things like passwords, important locations, even his own name. He hardly knows the date or how old he is. The memories blur.He loses himself in the haze.
One day, a raid happens. Operation Peridot, as it’s known in history. All of the higher-ups flee through a portal one of them made, Callum alongside them. Caleb tries to enter the portal that would lead them to safety. Callum asks for it to be shut down, leaving his brother behind. At this point, he’s 26. Caleb is 20, but never remembers celebrating a birthday beyond his 9th.
Caleb manages to escape on his own, but is tailgated by the raiders, trying hard to find and rescue him; to rehabilitate him into the larger society the Iridium Pearl userbase have made for themselves. But Caleb keeps running. But he doesn’t know why. He ends up hurting many people he doesn’t want to, but what else can he do? He’s a monster, and if he’s not one now he’ll be one soon.
…it should be noted that he does end up receiving at first illegitimate therapy before actually receiving actual therapy, and does discover his long lost memories from small jars where they were held captive, but yeah… not a pretty way to lose your memories.
Which OC has amnesia? Why? What causes/caused it?
