My dad's fundamental distrust of my theological vocation and training is normally very well hidden, but it keeps popping out when I mention schools he feels like are "his people" and he says oh they probably wouldn't hire you there!
#i applied today for a postdoc at my master's school which i'm deeply deeply conflicted about!#and he was like funny that your resume probably fits better at [ivy league school] than [small Christian school]!#and now i'm working on another small conservative Christian church-affiliated college#like agh why am i putting effort into this if they won't hire me for my gender
