( Headcanon #3--

Shishiou’s hair is sensitive due to being the equivalent of the decorative fabric of his hilt. Not necessarily sensitive to the touch, but if it is ever pulled at in a painful manner, it can cause severe pain that will result in tears. It’s basically equivalent to tearing his hilt apart, in a way. Though, he does have to be careful of knots and takes great care to not let his hair become too much of a mess to avoid causing himself unnecessary pain. )
