This is not really true though, there's no automatic filter on tiktok or twitter that bans you for saying suicide or sex or cis or whatever. Getting banned/shadowbanned/hidden is a combination of totally random bad luck and getting dogpiled by multiple people who decide to report your post bc they don't like it.

it would be cool if websites let you be an adult on them. the advertisers and payment processors need everything to be Family Friendly though and their definitions of family and friendly are absolutely fucked. but since they're in charge of the Internet now, no one is allowed to be an adult. tiktokers say things like "unalive" and "seggs" because they know death and sex are too adult for online. online is for idiot babies only now because they're easier to market to

#granted I have less experience on tiktok than twitter but I know for a fact videos using words like suicide and sex go viral on there #its getting bad on twitter though #you have people bringing over the tiktok self-censorship bc they've convinced themselves it applies to every website #even though it doesn't even always apply on tiktok #and now I have mutuals who spell “cis” like “cys” or “c!s” bc they are convinced they'll get automatically banned otherwise #like no #if you got banned for using the word “cis” its bc a bunch of transphobes mass-reported your posts #twitter doesn't know how to make those kinds of judgements anymore after most of their staff was laid off #so they just ban accounts when enough people report them and ignore all other behavior
