21. ‘Does this look infected to you?’
“How can there be this many people on the team and not a single one of us majored in some sort of healthcare?”
Becky raised an interesting point, the rest of your teammates looking around at each other. It seemed that they were hoping that some stranger with medical knowledge would appear in their group.
“Fine- Carli, I need your opinion as co-captain. Come over here.”
Carli crosses the room from where she had been previously digging through her locker. She stops in front of Becky, face patient as she waits for her question to be asked of her.
“Does this look infected to you?”
As Becky asks this, she nods her head towards where you are sitting on a bench. Your face was pale and your eyes were bloodshot. As they turn to look at you, you raise your arm and wipe your runny nose on the sleeve of your shirt. Judging by the bright red nose and the dried snot on your shirt, it was very clear that you were ill. It was a wonder that you had managed to make it this long without being caught.
“Becky,” you whine, “I’m totally fine. Totally, completely, 110% fine.”
Becky ignores you, again speaking to Carli.
“You know, I could be convinced that she wasn’t sick, but healthy people don’t have to try so hard to prove they aren’t healthy.”
Carli nods exaggeratedly in response.
“I know, if someone were to tell me that they felt fine, I would probably believe them. But if someone insisted that they were okay in a voice that is so congested that I can’t distinguish consonants, I’m not sure what to think.”
The two of them move as if to continue their dramatic dialogue when you interrupt them by sniffing loudly.
“I can hear you. My nose is blocked but my ears still work perfectly fine.”
Carli gasps in a deadpan voice, “oh no, Becky, we’ve been caught. I guess our secret is out.”
When she says this, she looks over to you. She gives you a look that you don’t quite know what to make of. Her eyes are soft and caring, but her face is hard. You had seen her face like that before and it almost always involved opponents wriggling under her stare. But you had seen the look in her eyes a few times before, anytime that someone on the team had gotten hurt or sick. It was a look unlike anything you had seen before and a look that you never wanted to see again. It was a look that could make you confess to anything.
“I’m not that sick,” you finally admit.
“Aha, that’s what I’ve been waiting to hear!” Becky celebrates. “We all know you’re sick, kid- you aren’t as good of an actor as you think you are. Take a quick shower and head to the bus. We’ll finish packing everything up and meet you there.”
Her tone left no room for argument, so you push yourself to your feet and head to the showers. You’re in and out in 5 minutes, scrubbing a sudsy washcloth over your face and body and calling it good. You throw on an oversized sweater and loose pants and collect your bag. Your feet drag on the walk to the bus, your body losing energy rapidly. You stagger up the stairs and slump into the first seat you find.
By the time your teammates boarded 10 minutes after you, you were fast asleep. You had a thin trickle of snot leading down to your mouth that was parted in sleep. You were so incredibly congested that you were dragging breaths into your mouth as you slept.
“I can’t believe her,” Becky says, shaking her head, “she’s so stubborn until she’s suddenly not.”
Carli nods, “she looks like a gross little doll right now, let’s leave her be. I don’t want to have to deal with a snotty baby alive right after I took a shower.”

bad, worse, the worst
This is it. This is the long ass fic I've been working on. Read tags for warnings and information so you don’t get confused bc this is an AU fic.

AU
Taehyung just wanted to film the boyfriend tag. Jungkook didn’t have to get so sick to have an excuse not to film it.
Sickie: Jungkook
Caretaker: Taehyung
Word Count: 10672
TW: hospital, emeto
"Jungkookie~..." Taehyung whispers sweetly, pouring all of his charms into the name.
He wraps his arms around Jungkook's shoulders, placing a soft kiss on his cheek and nuzzling his nose into the youngers neck.
"Hm?" Jungkook hums, although it sounds a little congested because of his blocked nose.
Jungkook pulls away from Taehyung's embrace, coughing into the crook of his elbow and rubbing his nose with the back of his hand as it starts itching.
"Can we film the boyfriend tag tomorrow afternoon?" Taehyung asks cutely, quickly continuing, "Pleaseeee~ my fans are getting impatient, they keep asking about it! And you promised you'd do it! Please, Jungkookie!"
Jungkook hasn’t been officially introduced to Taehyung's fans, yet. Partially because Taehyung wasn’t sure if he wanted to introduce him at all. He saw how fans pried into other’s relationships after they showed themselves. It happened to others; it happened to his friends. And he didn’t want that for himself and his relationship. Jungkook is a very private person as it is, and Taehyung didn’t want to push that by having people stick their nose into their relationship and possibly ruin it.
But his fans kept asking; begging for him to do the infamous boyfriend tag. They wanted to get to know the man that made their Taehyung so happy. They were curious and the occasional pictures Taehyung posted of them weren’t enough to satisfy them; nor were Jungkook's unexpected accidental appearances in the background of Taehyung's videos now and then.
Actually, that was how they found out about them. Taehyung and Jungkook had just moved in together when the older did a live stream to show their new home. Jungkook wasn’t aware of it and barged into the kitchen to prepare himself some food; wet haired and still shirtless from just having taken a shower. Needless to say that the viewers freaked out about the half-naked man in the background. Taehyung had told them that’s his lovely boyfriend and at that point, Jungkook had realized what was going on. Taehyung had never seen him run that fast in his life ever again.
"I don’t know Tae... I know I promised but- I don’t know..." Jungkook pouts as he thinks of the right words to say. A little frustrated, he runs his fingers through his long hair, pushing it back.
He sniffles a few times before finally grabbing a tissue from the box on the coffee table to blow his nose. Jungkook caught a cold only a few days prior, but he is already annoyed with how it either made his nose runny or blocked it completely.
"It’s just this one video, baby. Please? You promised you'd do it." Now Taehyung is the one pouting, looking at his boyfriend with sad puppy dog eyes.
Jungkook chuckles at how cute Taehyung is but it turns into a soft cough.
"I can't show myself to your fans like this. I look like Rudolph! Let's do it another time." The younger tries to negotiate, voice cracking halfway through the first sentence because of how sore his throat is. And as if to emphasize his statement, Jungkook sneezes into the tissue, his nose red from rubbing it raw.
Taehyung sighs in defeat but nods anyway, a gentle smile on his lips as he leans forward to cup his boyfriend's face and place a light kiss on his nose.
They cuddle on the couch for a while longer, watching the drama Taehyung chose. When Jungkook starts to nod off every few seconds, they decide to head to bed.
"Are you sure you want to go to work tomorrow? You're sick and you should rest, Koo." Taehyung questions as he wraps his long limbs around the younger, who insists on going to the gym he works at tomorrow.
"Yeah. I'll be fine. Now, let's sleep."
—
Jungkook started working at a gym close to their apartment while he was studying. So when he graduated six months ago he continued working there, even increasing work hours because he enjoys it so much.
"You look like death, kid. Should've stayed home today." Namjoon, one of the personal trainers at the gym, says as soon as Jungkook enters the staff’s locker room.
"Good morning to you, too, hyung." He croaks, his voice so hoarse it is almost gone.
Namjoon frowns, "Sound like it, too. Seriously, you should've just called in sick. We're over staffed this week anyway so it would’ve been fine."
"I'm okay, hyung. I'll manage a few hours." Jungkook assures as he changes into his gym clothes and ties up his hair.
"Hmm." Namjoon doesn’t sound convinced at all but he knows that arguing is pointless, "Don't get our clients sick, kid."
Namjoon ruffles Jungkook's hair on his way out, frowning at the heat he can feel. He stops to look at his colleague again, ready to ask if he really is fine enough to work.
But Jungkook speaks up before he can say anything, "Seriously, hyung. I'm fine. Now go!"
The older sighs but leaves the locker room, promising himself to check up on his colleague and friend as often as possible. If necessary, he would drag his ass home himself.
-
Jungkook survived the day at the gym. Luckily, it wasn’t a busy one but he is still exhausted and out of breath when he finally returns home.
His head is pounding and his nose is runny so he has to blow it every other minute, even though it seems to be pointless.
With a tired groan, Jungkook lets himself fall on the comfortable couch. His body feels achy from the workout, or maybe it is from the fever he developed during work. Either way, he grants his heavy body a few minutes of rest, closing his eyes as he curls up on the sofa.
-
Taehyung arrives home about an hour after Jungkook does. He spent the day at his best friend's, Jimin, preparing for the videos he wants to film with the other.
"Hellooo~! I'm back!" He announces loudly, letting his keys fall into the bowl in the hall.
There is no response but Taehyung knows his boyfriend is home because he can see his shoes and jacket in the entrance and he knows at what time he gets home after work.
"Jungkookie~? I'm home!" He tries again, slipping out of his shoes and jacket but there is still no answer.
Taehyung walks into the living space, stopping short when he finds his boyfriend asleep on the couch. He's snoring lightly, something he only does when he is sick. And he sure looks like it, face pale except for the red nose and cheeks.
Taehyung smiles softly and goes to crouch down in front of the sleeping man. He gently tucks a loose strand of hair that is falling into Jungkook's face behind his ear so it doesn’t tickle him. Taehyung brushes the back of his hand over the youngers forehead and frowns when it feels a little too warm. He makes a mental note to take Jungkook's temperature later when he is awake.
Grabbing the soft blanket from the backrest of the couch, Taehyung spreads it over his boyfriend and gently tucks him in, adjusting the pillow to make sure he is comfortable.
Jungkook letting out a few weak coughs in his sleep prompts Taehyung to prepare him some tea and maybe he'll manage to make food for them as well. Typically Jungkook is the one to cook because Taehyung isn’t a great chef at all.
A half an hour later he whipped up a decent soup. It is easy enough and something he can’t mess up too badly. Taehyung hopes it will do Jungkook good, warming him up and hopefully soothing his throat that he's been complaining about for the past few days already.
"Jungkookie. Jagiya, wake up." Taehyung is back in front of the couch, alternating between stroking his boyfriend's cheek and running his hand through his hair.
It takes some more coaxing and gentle touches but eventually, the younger wakes up with a groan. He hates waking up on normal days but it is even worse when he doesn’t feel well and just wants to sleep through it all.
Jungkook swallows, but it ends in a coughing fit because of how dry his mouth and throat are. Because of his blocked nose, he is forced to breathe through his mouth but the dryness aggravates his sore throat. The coughs are forceful and wet and Taehyung frowns at how terrible he sounds.
He gets up to bring his boyfriend a glass of water, hoping that will help. The tea he prepared right before waking the younger up is still too hot to drink.
"Here, drink a few sips to moisturize your mouth and throat." Taehyung suggests, handing Jungkook the glass.
He takes a few sips when the coughing calms down, the cool liquid feeling good as it soothes his throat.
"Thank you." Jungkook rasps hoarsely and places the glass back on the table.
Taehyung sits down next to Jungkook and pulls him into a hug.
He is a very affectionate person and loves to show it. He loves giving hugs and little pecks and holding his boyfriend's hand. Jungkook accepts it but he never initiates it, not in public. The younger is a lot more touchy and loving when they were in private but he is too shy to do it outside of the comfort of their home.
"My poor Jungkookie. You don’t feel very well, huh?" Taehyung places a soft kiss on Jungkook's temple, the warmth reminding him that he needs to take his temperature.
Jungkook doesn't respond but melts into the hug. They sit like that for a while, just holding onto each other and enjoying the other's company.
"Let's eat a little. I made soup." Taehyung murmurs into Jungkook's ear, kissing it before he gets up to get them both a bowl of the food he prepared.
First he brings Jungkook his soup and tea and then goes to get his own. The younger wraps himself up in the blanket, only his head and hands peeking out so he can eat.
"I hope it tastes good. I tried hard!" Taehyung tells him as he turns on the TV to provide some background noise so they won’t sit in complete silence.
"I'm sure it does but I wouldn’t know. I can't taste anything because my nose is blocked." Jungkook tells him with a small pout before he starts eating the soup.
When they are done, Taehyung puts the dishes away and goes to get the thermometer so he can finally take Jungkook's temperature.
"Open up!" He orders cheerily, holding the device up for his boyfriend to see.
Jungkook obeys without complaining except for that it is hard to keep it in his mouth because he can’t breathe well through his nose. The warm soup and tea loosened the congestion, so he is left with a runny nose, sniffling every few seconds.
When the thermometer beeps Taehyung pulls it out, relieved to see that it isn’t too bad. "It's a bit higher than normal but it's not bad. You'll be fine." Taehyung informs him.
"Hmm, okay." Jungkook hums nasally, "Cuddle me, though?"
Of course, Taehyung can't resist and they spend another hour cuddled up on the couch. When Taehyung notices that the younger is slowly dozing off, he shakes him gently.
"Let's go to bed, Koo." He tells him and sits up, startling Jungkook awake again in the process.
The younger is a little dazed, looking around the room confusedly before Taehyung's words seem to register with him. Taehyung stretches his hands out toward him to pull him up.
After washing up in the bathroom they are now comfortably tucked under their thick duvet, Taehyung spooning Jungkook like he always does.
"Goodnight aegi. Get well soon." The older murmurs into Jungkook’s neck, pecking it softly.
"G'night. Love you." He replies, going lax in his boyfriend's arms as he feels comfortable and warm.
—
The rest of the week passes much the same. Jungkook still goes to work every day, even though Taehyung tells him to stay at home and rest. They argued about it and Jungkook ended up promising him to come home earlier at least.
Taehyung spends most of his days at Jimin's, preparing for a Halloween makeup special that they want to film together.
Friday afternoon, Taehyung and Jungkook sit on their dining table together. Taehyung made hotpot for them. He asked his mother for the recipe and followed it accurately so he won't accidentally end up giving himself and his boyfriend food poisoning on top of his cold.
Blowing on the spoon, Taehyung glances up to see his boyfriend aimlessly moving the ingredients around in his bowl but not eating anything. Jungkook's head rests heavily in his hand and he looks exhausted.
"Are you not hungry, Koo?" Taehyung asks softly.
Jungkook lifts his head slowly, trying to stifle a cough but failing.
"Not really, 'm sorry." He apologizes, his voice so rough and hoarse it is barely audible.
Jungkook pushes the bowl away and instead places his head on the table, a pout on his lips as he sniffles a few times.
Taehyung gets up to back-hug his boyfriend, draping himself over him entirely. With his hand, he moves Jungkook's hair out of his face, then puts it on the youngers forehead.
"You feel warm Jungkookie." He notes, kissing Jungkook's neck before he pulls back.
"Go lay down on the couch while I get the thermometer. Are you in pain, do you need me to get you anything else?" Taehyung asks concerned.
Jungkook shakes his head, "No, just you."
Taehyung smiles and ruffles his boyfriend's hair gently before he leaves.
When Taehyung comes back into the living room Jungkook lays on the couch, bundled up in a blanket and he looks about ready to fall asleep.
He suddenly pitches forward with a sneeze, blindly grabbing for the tissue box on the coffee table in front of him.
Taehyung walks over to him and hands the younger a tissue before he sits down on the edge of the couch. He rubs Jungkook's back as he blows his nose, groaning when he flops back down on the sofa.
"Here, let's take your temperature." Taehyung tells him, putting the thermometer into Jungkook's mouth.
While they wait Taehyung thinks about how Jungkook only seemed to deteriorate this past week. He just caught a common cold the week before but instead of getting better his coughs are getting deeper and his fever higher.
The beeping of the thermometer pulls Taehyung out of his thoughts. Jungkook had a low-grade fever on and off all week and they didn't think much of it but the number Taehyung's seeing now takes him by surprise.
"It's pretty high, aein. 38.4°C. I'll get some fever reducers, do you need anything else?"
Taehyung stands up, looking at his boyfriend worriedly. He knows that with a fever like that he can't be feeling well.
"My head and throat really hurt..." Jungkook admits quietly. He can't speak louder than a whisper anyway, voice nearly gone at that point.
Taehyung leans down to press his lips against Jungkook's hot forehead tenderly.
"Do you want to go to bed? It's probably more comfortable than the couch and you look like you're about to fall asleep, Kookie."
Jungkook nods and slowly unwraps himself from the blanket. Taehyung helps him stand up and supports him to their bedroom. Jungkook appreciates the gesture, even though he doesn't think it's necessary.
Taehyung tucks him in so Jungkook's warm and comfortable while he goes to get the medicine.
"I'll be right back." He promises.
Along with the fever reducers , Taehyung also brings him something against the coughing when he hears Jungkook having a fit from the bathroom.
Once Jungkook takes the medicine, Taehyung slips into bed to resume his familiar big spoon position.
"Let's try to sleep, baby. Hopefully, you'll feel better tomorrow."
"Hnn, love you."
Taehyung kisses his shoulder. "Love you more."
—
Jungkook doesn’t sleep well that night.
He wakes up only about an hour after he first fell asleep, feeling incredibly achy. His whole body hurts so bad, it feels like someone is breaking his bones. Taehyung is still awake so he is quick to soothe him with loving words and gentle fingers trying to massage the aches away.
Jungkook falls asleep again but only to wake up a few hours later, coughing so hard he can barely breathe. The noise rouses Taehyung, and he helps Jungkook sit up, rubbing his back as he attempts to calm him down.
Jungkook doesn’t fall asleep easily after that. He feels too hot but when he removes the blanket, he feels too cold. He's sweating and uncomfortable.
Eventually, he drifts off to sleep again, but he wakes up several more times, either due to another coughing fit or just because his body wants to torment him, waking him up to make him feel all the aches and pains.
When Jungkook wakes up in the morning, Taehyung is already awake. He's on his phone, probably checking his social media and chatting with his fans. He immediately puts it aside when he feels Jungkook stir next to him.
"Good morning, Koo." The older greets him gently.
He turns on his side and reached out a hand to brush the long hair from Jungkook's face. The younger feels warmer than the day before. Taehyung hopes that maybe it's just the warmth from sleep.
Jungkook nuzzles into the touch, squirming a little to press his body into Taehyung's. Taehyung is warm and comfortable and safe.
The older wraps his boyfriend into a tight hug, "How do you feel?"
Taehyung can feel Jungkook shaking his head but he doesn’t answer verbally. He holds the younger for a little while longer before he decides it's time to get up. Taehyung’s stomach started growling, a clear sign of how hungry he is.
But before he goes to make breakfast, he wants to get a number on Jungkook's temperature. The thermometer is on the nightstand where he put it the night before.
"Kookie," He murmurs, rubbing his boyfriend's back, "you feel really warm. I need to take your temperature."
Jungkook is so pliant and Taehyung doesn't like it. He usually puts up a fight, refusing to have his temperature taken because he claims that he doesn’t have a fever. Nor does the younger like taking medicine. "It'll get better on its own." "My body's taking care of it already." "I don't need medicine." he says but the night before he took it willingly.
The thermometer shows that Jungkook’s fever rose overnight. He only seems to get worse and Taehyung doesn’t know how to help him. Neither of them get sick a lot and if they do, it's just the usual cold or stomach flu. But not like this, never like this.
"I'll go make breakfast, jagiya. You can just stay in bed. Because you're sick, you can eat here." Taehyung kisses the crown of Jungkook's head before he leaves to the kitchen.
He warms up leftovers from the dinner they had the night before, cooking some rice while he fills two glasses with juice and places everything on a tray once it’s done. Taehyung brings it back into their bedroom to find that Jungkook is half asleep again. He feels a little bad to wake him up because Jungkook does need a lot of rest, especially after sleeping so badly during the night.
Taehyung puts the tray on the bedside table before he carefully sits down on the edge of the bed. He cups Jungkook's cheek, rubbing it gently with his thumb to rouse his sleepy boyfriend.
The younger is a little out of it; unfocused eyes trying to understand the situation. He tries to take a deep breath, but it irritates his airways, triggering a coughing fit. Jungkook sits up with Taehyung's help, the older rubbing his back in a comforting gesture.
"Here Kookie, try to drink a bit. Hopefully that helps." Taehyung offers him the glass when the coughing subsides. Instead of taking the juice, though, Jungkook plops back down on the bed, exhausted from the coughing fit.
Taehyung hates seeing his boyfriend like that. Normally, he is so full of energy and laughter. Always ready to do something and joke around. But now he is just tired and miserable, every little thing exhausting him and his whole body aching.
With a little coaxing, Tahyung gets Jungkook to sit up long enough for him to fluff the pillows so he can lean against them while they're eating breakfast. He feeds the younger small bites of rice and warmed up stew. Jungkook doesn’t eat much, but he drinks the whole glass of juice.
While Taehyung puts away the tray, he thinks a cold shower might help his boyfriend and make him feel better. He's sticky and his clothes are damp from sweating and the cold water may help with the high fever.
Jungkook isn’t very excited when Taehyung proposes the idea to him but complied nonetheless. They take the shower together, mainly so Taehyung can stay close to his poorly boyfriend and help him. He washes Jungkook’s hair for him when the younger is too achy and tired to lift his arms and do it himself, and he rubs his back as well.
The shower makes Jungkook feel a little better, even though he didn’t like how cold it was. So being wrapped up in comfortable sweats and one of Taehyung’s pullovers afterward feels a lot better.
The couple is cuddling on the couch. Jungkook rests between Tae's legs with his back against the olders chest; breathing in sync, even though Jungkooks is a little wheezy and interrupted by coughing.
Taehyung feels relaxed as he watches the TV show but tenses up when Jungkook starts to groan and squirm. The younger turns around and hugs Taehyung tightly, face pressing into his chest. Jungkook ends up falling asleep like that soon after, feeling warm and safe in his boyfriend’s arms.
-
Jungkook wakes up with his head pounding and his throat burning. There is a wet patch on Taehyung's T-shirt and he realizes, he must've drooled on him due to sleeping with his mouth open.
"'m sorry." He apologizes hoarsely.
Taehyung glances down at him, eyes wide in confusion. Jungkook gently taps the wet spot with his finger and Taehyung smiles at him.
"It's okay, you can't help it. You were snoring, too. You do that when you're sick and I think it's cute." He teases the younger lovingly, gently ruffling his long hair.
"You feel so warm still." Taehyung frowns, brushing the long strands from Jungkook's forehead now, "Let me get up so I can get the thermometer?"
Jungkook pushes himself into a sitting position so Taehyung can stand up. He lays back down and bundles himself up in the blanket again as soon as his boyfriend is standing.
When Taehyung comes back Jungkook doesn’t move so he settles down in front of the couch while they wait for the thermometer to read Jungkook's temperature.
"39.8°C. That's really high. Why's it still so high?" Taehyung is incredibly worried. The fever only seems to get worse and nothing he does is helping so far.
He gives Jungkook more fever reducers and puts up a reminder on his phone to check his temperature every hour.
Jungkooks fever continues to burn, remaining high throughout the day. The younger keeps falling asleep and waking up and Taehyung stays very close to him.
Taehyung hopes things will get better but late into the afternoon, when the sun is already setting, Jungkook takes a turn for the worse.
Taehyung checks his temperature again when the younger wakes up from another restless slumber. Instead of the fever going down, it keeps rising. The thermometer showing a number surpassing the 40°C mark.
Taehyung is about ready to freak out. He knows he needs to stay calm though, panicking won’t benefit either of them.
Jungkook’s quiet voice interrupts Taehyung's frenzy thoughts. "Need to... go home now."
"What?" Taehyung's eyes widen comically. He isn’t sure if he heard him correctly. He hopes he didn’t.
"'s late. Need to leave uni now." Jungkook clarifies, but it doesn’t make things any clearer for Taehyung.
He can only watch as the younger sits up, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
"Jungkook, what?" Taehyung repeats, voice a few octaves higher than normal. What the younger is saying doesn’t make any sense. He is at home and he graduated from university a half a year ago already. Taehyung doesn’t understand.
"W'rk..." Jungkook mumbles, his words slow and slurred, "When does work start?" He makes a move as if to get up but his body feels heavy, dragging him back down.
It's Saturday evening. Jungkook never worked on a Saturday evening. He's talking nonsense, and it scares Taehyung out of his mind.
Taehyung gets up to stand in front of Jungkook, hands outstretched to touch the younger but he doesn’t. Jungkook is obviously confused and delirious, he doesn’t want to scare him.
What if he doesn’t recognize me? That thought keeps running through Taehyung's mind.
"Ah! Ca'- can you tell me... how to get home?" Jungkook reaches for Taehyung’s wrist, tugging on it to get his attention. He looks up at his boyfriend with his soft doe-eyes but they are glassy and confused.
"You are home, aegi." Taehyung declares softly, hoping Jungkook will understand. That he will break out of his delirium and realize what’s going on. Tears well up in Taehyung's eyes. He's overwhelmed and scared.
"Oh." Jungkook breathes out but says nothing else. Taehyung isn’t sure if he understood.
"Jagiya... what's your name?" He inquires, voice only a shaky whisper as he tries to keep back his tears.
Jungkook seems to contemplate the question before be finally answers, but it nearly breaks Taehyung’s heart.
"I dunno y'r name...?"
"Jungkookie, what's happening?!" Fear and frustration are packed into the words and Taehyung has to stop himself from screaming and crying.
He takes a deep breath before he speaks again. "Listen," Taehyung says clearly and looks his boyfriend in the eyes to keep his attention, "What day is today?" He tries another easy question. Or at least he thinks it is an easy one but Jungkook couldn't even tell him his own name a minute ago.
Jungkook lets go of Taehyung’s wrist that he was holding all that time. The older uses the freedom of his hand to slowly pull out his phone, attention still on his delirious boyfriend. He needs help. Taehyung can’t handle this on his own.
Jungkook frowns, and the look of confusion on his face is almost cute. Almost. If only the situation was different. His answer is hesitant, "...your...birthday?"
Taehyung quickly looks at his phone so Jungkook won’t notice the tears that almost fall. "No. It’s not my birthday." He murmurs as he searches through his contacts for the person he's hoping to get help from.
Uncertainly, the older looks up once he taps the call button, waiting for the other person to pick up. "Koo-Koo... do you know who I am?"
A look of surprise, almost shock, crosses Jungkook’s face before he starts rambling. "Of course! I love you! I'm happy you’re here but my head hurts and I can’t breathe through my nose and swallowing is painful, too. And my voice sounds really weird."
"This better be important." Taehyung’s call is finally answered.
—
Seokjin can feel the vibrations of his phone in his pocket. At first, he ignores it. He carefully puts the cold sheet mask on his face, feeling instant relief.
But the vibrations don’t stop. The caller is persistent.
Without looking at the name on the display, Seokjin answers. "This better be important," he threatens lowly, "for you to be interrupting my pampering time."
Taehyung starts rambling incoherently on the other line. His voice is shaky but urgent. It's hard to understand anything he is saying. Seokjin can also hear another voice babbling in the background but tries to ignore it.
"Stop!" Seokjin interrupts. Taehyung immediately does. "Good. Now, calm down and repeat it slowly. It was impossible to understand anything."
He can hear Taehyung taking in a deep breath before he speaks up again, voice a little steadier now. "Hyung, Koo is really sick. He's delirious and I don’t know what to do. Please, I need help, Jin hyung."
"I'll be there in a few minutes." Seokjin immediately hangs up the phone and pulls the sheet mask off his face. He thinks it's a little regretful that he has to cut his self-care evening short but, even though he would never admit to it, he is platonically whipped for both Taehyung and Jungkook.
Seokjin met them a few years ago. They frequented the restaurant he used to work at almost every day for a whole week straight. They eventually became friends and have been ever since. Seokjin denies it but he would do anything for the two.
—
When Seokjin arrives at Taehyung and Jungkook's place, the latter is pretty drowsy and out of it. Taehyung is pacing around the living room nervously until Seokjin snaps at him and orders him to sit down.
"His temperature is 40.4°C. We're going to the hospital. Now!" Seokjin urges when he looks at the device in his hands. This is dangerous. He wants to scold Taehyung and tell him he should have called emergency services but the man already is a shaky mess and he doesn’t need a lecture now.
Taehyung puts a jacket on Jungkook and helps him slip into his shoes. The younger is puzzled but accepts the help without fussing.
"Are we going on a date?" Jungkook frowns but his big eyes sparkled and Taehyung could have melted right then and there.
He takes a deep breath and kisses Jungkook’s warm forehead before pulling him into him. Jungkook's face presses into Taehyung’s tummy from where he sits on the couch and he loosely wraps his arms around the back of the olders legs.
"Yeah." Taehyung exhales heavily, "I'll take you out. It's okay."
He feels a little bad for lying but he doesn’t want to scare Jungkook or confuse him even more. Taehyung isn’t sure if he would understand it anyway.
He pulls away from the younger and extends his hand. It's a miracle it isn’t shaking too badly.
Jungkook pouts defiantly. "But I'm tired." He mumbles, looking much younger than he actually is.
"Yeah, I know. It'll be fine." Taehyung assures him. Perhaps, it's more so a reassurance for himself.
Jungkook doesn’t question him further. Nor does he argue when both, Taehyung and Seokjin help him walk out of their home and to Seokjin's car. He doesn’t even pay attention to where they were going.
In the backseat, Jungkook nuzzles into Taehyung’s side. He doesn’t notice his boyfriend’s heart beating too fast or the worried glances Seokjin is giving him through the rear-view mirror.
"I love you. So much." Taehyung suddenly whispers and tightens the hug he's holding Jungkook in.
Jungkook doesn’t understand what's happening but it's okay. He's with Taehyung so he will be fine. He will always be fine with Taehyung.
—
It took almost two hours after they arrive at the hospital for Jungkook to get admitted to a ward. The whole time, Taehyung isn’t able to sit still and he's positive the nurses and doctors are annoyed with him when he keeps asking them questions. Seokjin stays with them but his attempts to calm Taehyung down are futile.
Now, Jungkook is resting in a hospital bed, the curtain around it drawn for privacy. He feels comfortable and warm and isn’t in pain thanks to the medication they gave him. He's almost asleep when a nurse comes in to take his temperature again to see if the treatment is working.
"How did that even happen? I tried to keep him hydrated, and I tried to lower his temperature with a cold shower and I gave him fever reducers." Taehyung worries, gnawing on his bottom lip.
The nurse looks at him, sympathy showing on her face. "A cold shower can be counterproductive because the cold water constricts the blood vessels taking blood to the skin, and it prevents the person from losing heat so it can increase the fever. In the future, you'll want to remember that lukewarm showers and baths are a lot more helpful." She explains, "But please don't worry, he'll get better in no time!"
In no time, is a lie. Jungkook's condition only improves very slowly so his doctor wants to keep him in for a while longer.
He's been in the hospital for three days already. Taehyung never leaves his side and because not all the beds in the room are occupied, the staff doesn’t mind him staying the night, either.
On the fourth morning, Jungkook wakes up because of a coughing fit that leaves him breathless and grabbing at his chest. Taehyung is by his side in an instant, rubbing his back. He notices the sheen of sweat covering Jungkook’s whole body and the heat coming from his skin.
Jungkook’s breaths are wheezy and fast. He's holding the front of his hospital shirt tightly, as if his chest is hurting.
"Jungkookie, baby, are you okay?" Taehyung worries.
The younger makes a pained noise and suddenly he's gagging. The first few heaves are empty ones, then he's throwing up all over himself. Jungkook tries to stop it with his hands but it is in vain. He ends up getting vomit all over them, as well as his chest and lap, that is thankfully covered by the thin hospital sheets.
He continues heaving painfully. Jungkook can barely get a breath in, even after he stops throwing up.
For a moment, Taehyung is frozen from shock. Then his mind catches up with the situation. He presses the nurse call button a million times, simultaneously trying to calm his boyfriend down. They are both scared and don’t understand what's happening.
When the nurse sees the mess, she immediately contacts the doctor.
The doctor sends Taehyung out of the room. He tries to protest. He doesn’t want to leave Jungkook's side, especially not in that moment. But he also understands that he should trust the hospital staff and not hinder their work. So he listens and steps out of the room.
Taehyung starts pacing the corridor in front of Jungkook’s room, head snapping up when a door opens. A nurse ends up guiding him to a waiting area with the promise to keep him informed.
He waits for a half an hour already when the nurse comes back, but not alone. Jimin, Hoseok, and Yoongi are with her. They all look worried. The nurse excuses herself again and leaves the four men alone.
"Taehyungie, what's going on?" Hoseok wants to know. The three sit down on the unoccupied chairs, Hoseok and Jimin on either side of Taehyung.
"I don’t know." He whimpers, tears gathering in the corner of his eyes, "Jungkookie- He threw up and I think he couldn’t breathe properly. The doctor sent me out. I don't know what’s going on."
The stress and fear of the past few days are finally catching up with him and Taehyung lets the tears fall. Jimin quickly pulls him into a hug.
"Aigoo, Taehyungie. Don't cry. It's going to be okay." Jimin mutters reassurances until the younger calms down.
"I'm sorry. It's just- I'm so worried about Kookie. He just had a cold and now he can barely breathe. I don’t know what’s going on and I can't do anything for him." Taehyung lets out a heavy breath, his shoulder sagging.
The lack of sleep and the weight of the situation become more apparent and it's hard to process. Taehyung hoped his boyfriend would get better, but he just keeps getting worse.
Jimin holds his best friend for a while and even Hoseok and Yoongi join the hug. It cheers Taehyung up a bit. He's grateful to have friends with him so he doesn’t have to be alone.
Finally, the nurse that led Taehyung to the waiting room earlier comes back again. She leads them back to Jungkook's room as she explains the situation.
"The test results show that Jeon Jungkook-ssi has pneumonia. Likely, hospital-acquired pneumonia, which can be serious as the patient is already ill. However, Jeon Jungkook-ssi is young and generally healthy so we're positive he'll recover fast and without further complications."
Before anyone can ask questions they already stop in front of Jungkook’s room. They didn’t move him somewhere else and that calms Taehyung down a bit. It can’t be too bad then.
"You can see him now but he's very tired at the moment so please be gentle. Also, please don’t be scared about the oxygen mask, it is to help him breathe easier because that's a little hard for him at the moment." The nurse informs them before she tells her goodbye and leaves them alone.
"Do you want to go in alone or do you want me to come with you?" Jimin asks when Taehyung hesitates to open the door. He's obviously nervous and perhaps a little scared.
Taehyung inhales deeply. "I'll go in alone."
He turns around, lips stretched into a wide grin and eyes turning into little crescents, like they always do when he's happy. It looked forced, though, and Jimin feels the need to hug him again; so he does.
"It'll probably take a while. You don’t have to stay." Taehyung tells them.
"Nonsense. We came all the way here, we want to at least say hi to Jungkook-ah." Yoongi says decidedly.
Taehyung nods in understanding, "I'll try to not take too long but no promises."
He has a genuine smile on his face when he finally enters the room. They are glad that he looks a little more relaxed and not as scared and worried as before. Jungkook wouldn’t like seeing his boyfriend so tense. It would make him feel guilty and bad and no one wanted that.
In the hospital room, Jungkook is dressed in a fresh light blue hospital shirt. New sheets are covering him up to his chest, which moved up and down gently. Jungkook’s eyes are closed and the mask covering half of his face fogs up every few seconds with each breath he takes. He looks peaceful.
Taehyung quietly sits down in the chair next to the bed. He tries to be quiet in case his boyfriend is asleep. With soft fingers, he tucks Jungkook’s hair behind his ear.
Feeling the movement, Jungkook slowly peels his eyes open and blinks a few times, either to adjust to the light or to focus his vision. He looks so sleepy, Taehyung thinks it's adorable.
He smiles as he waits for the younger to come around properly. Taehyung assumes the medicine and the illness itself is making him so drowsy.
Jungkook's body feels heavy, but he clumsily reaches out his hand toward his boyfriend. Taehyung intertwines their fingers and bends forward to press a kiss to his forehead. It still feels warm.
"Hi, baby." Taehyung whispers, lips brushing against the skin of Jungkook’s face.
Then, he pulls back with a frown on his face. "I was so scared."
Jungkook can see the lingering fear in Taehyung’s eyes and he can hear it in his voice. He opens his mouth to speak, to reassure him and thank him and tell him he loves him but Jungkook doesn’t have the strength to talk. Instead, he closed his eyes and exhales heavily. It prompts a cough that comes from deep within his chest. It hurts and leaves him breathless once he's done.
Taehyung was rubbing his back but moved his hand to the nape of Jungkook’s neck when he stopped coughing, fingers gently tugging on the long strands of hair before they comb through it. "It's okay," He tells him, "you don't need to speak now. Rest and then we can talk when you're feeling better."
Jungkook forces his eyes open when Taehyung is talking but he's so tired. He lets them slip shut and soon he falls asleep.
Taehyung sits with him for a bit longer, just holding Jungkook's hand in his while the other one continues running through his boyfriend’s hair.
Suddenly, the door opens, startling Taehyung.
"You took too long, so we decided to come in." Yoongi deadpans but there's a teasing lilt to it.
Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi tell their goodbyes and promise to visit again, preferably when Jungkook is awake and feeling better.
—
"You were, like, delirious from fever. Talking weird stuff. It was really scary." Taehyung explains, his own hands fiddling with Jungkook's slightly smaller one.
It's two days later and the younger is finally getting better. They replaced the oxygen mask with a nasal cannula and it is less scary to look at, less worrying.
Jungkook still has coughing fits that leave him breathless and exhausted. The hospital staff showed him breathing techniques so it won’t be as painful anymore.
The doctor wants him to stay for a few more days, and Taehyung still refuses to leave.
"Ahhh, honestly... I'm sorry for scaring you, jagiya. I'm feeling better now, I swear." Jungkook grins and pulls Taehyung's hand towards his mouth to press a tender kiss to his palm.
"Ew, keep your germs to yourself sicky." A sudden voice sounds from the entrance of the room.
Taehyung and Jungkook's heads snap toward the voice, not expecting any visitors. Seokjin and Jimin stand in the doorway with amused smiles on their faces.
Jimin greets them both with gentle hugs, while Jin opts for only a verbal greeting, not taking any risks of possibly getting sick, too.
"How are you doing, Jungkookie?" Jimin addresses the youngest.
Jungkook sniffles, "Getting better, hyung." He smiles softly.
"Good. That's good." Jimin hums.
"And how are you doing, Tae-ah?" Seokjin wants to know. The poor guy has been so stressed and anxious and spent the past week or so helplessly looking after his boyfriend.
"Me?" Taehyung's eyes widen in surprise because he didn't expect the question. He isn’t the one in a hospital bed. "I'm okay." He assures, a big grin taking over his face.
"You look tired, though. You can't possibly be sleeping well here." Seokjin glances at the sofa bed in the corner that Taehyung slept on ever since Jungkook was admitted to the hospital.
"You should go home. At least for a shower and a nap." He suggests. Jimin and Jungkook both agree.
Jungkook squeezes Taehyung's hand that he's still holding. "It's okay. I'll be fine, aein."
After some more persuasion and a little bit of begging from Jungkook and Jimin and a few threats from Seokjin, Taehyung eventually agrees.
-
At home, the first thing Taehyung does is take a shower. The warm water feels incredibly good and it's like it washes away all of the tension that accumulated in his body over the past week or so. Taehyung feels a lot better once he showered and put on fresh clothes.
He wasn’t able to check any of his social media for a while because of how preoccupied he was. As much as Taehyung loves his fans, he didn’t have the energy to deal with them on top of Jungkook's illnesses.
It has been a week since he last posted something or talked to his followers and he didn’t announced a break before that. Taehyung is aware that his fans are probably going crazy. It isn’t surprising to him that he has hundreds of notifications from people asking him where he is and what's going on.
I'm sorry for the unannounced hiatus. Going live in a few to explain what’s going on 🐯🥴 He posts on his twitter, phone immediately blowing up with notifications.
-
"Ahhh... The comments aren’t working." Taehyung adjusts his phone a little bit, checking himself on the screen to make sure the lighting is alright, "Is it even on?"
Suddenly, a lot of comments show up on the screen, before freezing momentarily again. Taehyung smiles at the camera and waves.
"It’s working now! I guess it was just stuck because you guys were commenting so much at once!" He laughs but quickly sobers up again.
"Alright, everyone. I decided to do this quick live stream because I want to apologize for the unannounced hiatus and explain it because there's a reason for that."
Taehyung checks the comment section for a second, then the viewer count.
"There’s already a lot of people watching so I guess we can just go right into it. Okay, so, I apologize for going MIA from all social media all of a sudden. I didn’t plan to; some things just happened in my life recently."
Again, Taehyung looks at the comments his fans are sending in. He smiles at their nice words, telling him that it's fine and he doesn’t have to apologize.
Are you okay? Some ask.
To make it up to us, upload the boyfriend tag already! 😁 Another viewer comments, followed by many more agreeing with that person.
His fans have been begging him to do the boyfriend tag for so long now. He promised them he'd do it soon but alas, with everything that has happened it was simply impossible to film the video.
"I'm seeing you guys. I know you want the boyfriend tag. I'll explain why I've been inactive and then you'll also know why there's no boyfriend tag, yet." He tells them, waiting a bit to see the viewers reactions.
OMG DI DYOU ANDY OUR BOYFRIEND BREAKUP??!
ddid you break up?
is it because you have something even bigger and better planned 👀
are you and jungkookie still dating
you broek ip omg you did dint't you??
Taehyung chuckles at how concerned they are about his relationship, even though they don’t really know anything about it. Sometimes, Jungkook helps him with the camera work since the younger prefers being behind the camera instead of in front of it. Occasionally he still walks into the frame, unaware of what Taehyung is doing and the fans go crazy for those moments. Jungkook would just cover his ears in embarrassment, a cute little quirk of his, and leave quickly. He never properly introduced himself to Taehyung’s fans, though.
"Don’t worry guys, we didn’t break up! Though, it does have to do with Jungkookie." Taehyung announces.
He moves in his seat, getting more comfortable. He makes sure everything still looks good before he continues.
"So, a few weeks ago I finally convinced Jungkookie to film the boyfriend tag with me. When I wanted to film it, he refused, though, because he had a cold. I can't show myself to your fans like this. I look like Rudolph! Let's do it another time." Taehyung parrots what Jungkook told him back then.
"I made him promise that we'll film it once he's better and his nose isn’t as red anymore." He grins at the memory. Taehyung thought Jungkook looked cute with his red nose.
"But, and that's why I've been inactive, Jungkookie got worse and actually had to go to the hospital. He still is there, but he's recovering. He's getting better."
Taehyung knows the comment section will be in shambles and he also knows that his fans will want to know the details. However, Jungkook likes to keep his privacy and Taehyung doesn’t want to share too much.
IM SO UPSET! IS JUNGKOOKIE OKAG NOW??
what?? omg 😟
OH NO poor jungkookie :( i hope he's feeling better!
tell him to get well soon! we love him, too!
WHAT HAPPENED OMG
GET WELL SOON JUNGKOOK 💐
i hope he's feeling better soon 🥺
"Thank you for the get well wishes, I'm sure he appreciates them. And don’t worry guys, he's already doing a lot better now. He's fine!"
The fans still send in get well soon messages and Taehyung gets a little emotional. They don’t really know Jungkook but they like him a lot and that makes him happy. It's very sweet of them to be so worried and wishing him well.
"Okay, everyone. That's it! I just wanted to come here and let you know what's going on. I'm sorry again, but I hope you understand now. I'll probably be a little less active still until everything's back to normal. You can send me messages to my social media accounts and I'll make sure to answer them ASAP! I've got to go now, bye~"
Taehyung waves his hand goodbye, his famous boxy grin on his face as he reaches for his phone to turn the live stream off.
Yoongi will be there soon to pick him up. Seokjin and Jimin stayed in the hospital with Jungkook while Taehyung went home but now he's ready to go back.
—
A week later and Jungkook is doing a lot better. He still has to take it easy and he sleeps more than usual but he's feeling better. Breathing doesn’t hurt anymore, and neither does the coughing that has yet to stop. Fortunately, the fits aren’t as bad anymore and they aren’t as wet and deep as before. At this point it just feels like a common cold.
Jungkook sits on the edge of their bed while Taehyung sets up the camera. He can’t sit still because of how nervous he is. He doesn’t know what to do with his hands or where to look at. Is he supposed to look at Taehyung or the camera? Jungkook has no idea about these kind of things.
When Taehyung notices the nervous fidgeting, he thinks maybe he should've given his boyfriend something to do while he interrogates him, but it's too late now.
"Okay, this looks good." Taehyung says to himself when be checke the screen of the laptop.
He sits down next to Jungkook and gives the younger a soft kiss on the cheek, "Ready?"
As promised, they are finally filming the boyfriend tag. At first, Jungkook tried to find an excuse not to do it, yet (Hyung, my voice still sounds weird. Tae, what if I have a sneezing or coughing fit while filming?), but in the end, he couldn't resist Taehyung's puppy dog eyes.
"Are you sure it's okay for me to just wear sweats? You promise they won't be seen?" Jungkook worries, gnawing on his bottom lip as he frowns down at his lap.
He's afraid of what Taehyung’s fans will think of him. He even asked Taehyung which shirt he should wear. But in the end, he settled for a comfortable thick sweater to keep him warm since he's still recovering.
With his thumb, Taehyung frees Jungkook’s bottom lip and kisses it softly. "It's fine. They won't be seen but I don't think the viewers would mind anyway." he mutters and smiles when he presses another kiss to Jungkook’s lips.
Admittedly, he finds it cute how concerned Jungkook is about his appearance and first impression. He's been nervous all day, asking Taehyung questions about the process and what even is a boyfriend tag? Taehyung told him they will do it the traditional way and he'll just ask him questions about himself and their relationship.
"If you're uncomfortable," Taehyung says seriously then, "we can stop any time. Just let me know."
Jungkook nods but doesn’t say anything. To stop the nervous movements of his hands, he sits on them. He does that a lot but Taehyung never points it out to him.
"It's not a live stream and I'll edit it before posting, so don't worry too much, jagiya." Taehyung continues to assure his boyfriend.
He moves a comforting hand through the youngers long hair, stopping at the nape of his neck to massage it lightly. Taehyung presses another kiss to the corner of Jungkook's mouth.
With his lips still there, Taehyung murmurs, "You'll do great. You always do. I love you."
Jungkook huns and turns his face to reciprocate the kiss but the older pulls away, making him pout.
"Okay! Let's start!" And that is all the warning Jungkook gets before the camera is rolling.
"Hyung! At least give me a proper warning next time!" He complains but Taehyung gives him a peck on the lips, looking smug as he watches the blush spread on Jungkook’s face.
"Hello guys! It's me, Vante!" Taehyung introduces himself with his nickname before continuing to introduce his boyfriend, "And this is my lovely boyfriend Jungkook!"
Jungkook pulls one hand out from under his thigh and lifts it in an awkward wave. Taehyung watches fondly before he continues.
"You guys have been waiting for this and here it finally is - The boyfriend tag! We'll do it the traditional way and I'll just interrogate Jungkookie to see how well he knows me." He resches for the youngers hand that is resting between them now, and is surprised at how clammy it feels. He squeezes it encouragingly, a silent assurance that he's doing well.
Taehyung goes on to explain that he asked his followers to send him questions and that he wrote them down on his phone. Jungkook sits silently, eyes moving from his boyfriend to the camera and back again. He tries to stifle a cough but fails, and has to lift his other arm since he refuses to let go of Taehyung's hand.
The older looks at him a little concerned but continues talking when Jungkook quietly tells him he is fine.
"Ah, the first question isn’t about me or us, but a lot of people want to know if you're okay now?" Taehyung reads.
He thinks it's a little ironic to ask that right after Jungkook had a small coughing fit but he can always cut that out so no one but them will know.
"Uhm- Yes! I'm good! Thank you!" Jungkook's voice is still a little rough and the congestion is audible, but it's alright.
Taehyung has to suppress his laughter at how stiff his boyfriend sounds. He hopes he'll be able to relax a bit with time. He leans over and kisses Jungkook’s cheek softly. The younger blushes but doesn’t push him away.
After a quick glance at his phone, Taehyung says, "Let’s get into it. We'll start with an easy one. How long have we been together?"
Jungkook's answer is quick, "Three and a half years! Next year in April it'll be four years."
Taehyung nods approvingly and continues, "Correct. How did we meet and how old were we?"
"We met in university. You walked into the wrong class but instead of walking back out, you just stayed. You sat next to me and started talking. We bonded and became friends, and six months later we started dating." Jungkook recalls. He takes a moment to remember their ages before he answers, "I was 18 at that time and you were still 19 but you turned 20 two months later."
They both smile fondly at the memory of their first meeting. After that, Taehyung attended a lot of Jungkook’s classes just so he could spend more time with the younger. The professors didn’t care. They didn’t even know most of them but Jungkook forced him to stop doing that, afraid that Taehyung would fail if he missed all of his own classes.
"Yeah. You were cute even back then." Taehyung sighs dreamily, content to see Jungkook blush again. The younger was never good at taking compliments and it's adorable to see him getting flustered.
Jungkook coughs into the crease or his elbow, perhaps more so to hide his red face than to cover the cough.
Taehyung laughs. "Okay, on we go! What was your first impression of me?"
"Hmm..." Jungkook hums a little nasally, his eyebrows crease in concentration, "I thought you were an interesting guy. And that you're really pretty."
"Ah... Honestly, that day, I sat next to you bc you looked so cute. Also, because it was the only unoccupied seat." Taehyung teases, laughing out loud when his boyfriend shoves him.
Instead of fighting back, he throws himself on the younger, engufling him in a tight hug and kisses his temple. Jungkook pushes against slightly and Taehyung lets go. He doesn’t want to push his limits. He grabs his phone to reads the next question.
"Another easy one. What's my favorite food?"
"Dumplings. You love dumplings." Jungkook answers immediately.
"I do! We should get some once we're done here. And what's my least favorite?"
"You don’t like peas." Taehyung nods positively at the correct answer.
His eyes light up when he reads over the notes in his phone again. "Everyone, there’s some interesting questions now! Koo, they want to know who has the pants on in our relationship?"
Jungkook stays silent for a moment, pondering the question. He opens his mouth to answer, but instead his breath hitches and his nose starts twitching at the tickle. A second later he pitches forward with a sneeze that he tries to catch with his hands. Taehyung quickly grabs a wad of tissues that he prepared prior to recording and hands them to his boyfriend.
"Thanks..." He sniffles after blowing his nose. Luckily it wasn’t a wet sneeze so it didn’t cause a mess. "Edit that out later." Jungkook tells him sternly but Taehyung only grins at how cute he is.
"What was the question again?" Jungkook asks, still rubbing his nose with the tissue.
"Who has the pants on?"
After a moment of silence as Jungkook mulls over the question he finally settles with a, "Neither of us."
When Taehyung looks at him questioningly, he elaborates, "I don’t think either of us has the pants on. We're pretty equal. We talk before making decisions, we don’t just decide important things without talking to each other first. And we don’t boss around the other or anything. So neither of us has the pants on."
Taehyung nods along as Jungkook explains, agreeing silently.
"That's right, we are. And communication is one of the most important things in a relationship!" He supports Jungkook’s statement and then asks the next question, "Who said I love you first?"
"I did but you confessed to me first so that evens things out." Jungkook responds while he reaches for the water bottle to soothe his throat as he starts coughing more frequently.
Taehyung nods and proceeds to read the next note, "When and where was our first kiss?"
Jungkook gulps down a few sips of water before a shy smile takes over his face at the memory. "It was my 19th birthday. We went to the beach together and then we had out first kiss."
"That was really romantic. We should go back there some time." Taehyung muses and Jungkook agrees.
"Anyways, on we go! What was our first vacation together?" The older asks enthusiastically.
"Daegu. You showed me your favorite place, Daegu Dalseong Park, and afterward we went to Busan and I showed you where I grew up." Jungkook remembers warmly.
"That also answered the next question about what my favorite place is. Well, then they want to know when and where was our first date?"
Jungkook coughs into the crook of his elbow and takes another quick sip of water before he answers, "We went to a Café. That's when I found out you don’t like coffee. And that was... like... two months before we officially started dating."
Taehyung nods. "Yeah, you ordered us hot chocolate instead and it was the best one I ever had. Not because it was so good but because I had it with you." He recalls, a cheesy smile on his face.
"Taehyungie~" Jungkook whines but he's smiling, too.
"Let's continue!" The older exclaims. His face turns smug as he looks at the next question.
"Am I the big spoon or little spoon?"
People would expect Jungkook to be the big spoon because he's much buffer than Taehyung. He works out a lot, while Taehyung is a little lazier and only joins his boyfriend sometimes and even then he gives up quickly. It all came down to stereotypes that the smaller and 'weaker' one has to be the little spoon but really, it isn’t true at all.
"You’re the big spoon. You like cuddling a lot." Jungkook replies and immediately Taehyung elgulfs him in a tight hug.
"That's true! I love cuddling you, my little spoon." He pulls away again after pecks Jungkook’s temple.
Taehyung reads the next question, "One talent that I have."
"There's too many, you're good at everything... Hmm..." Jungkook thinks about it, "You... take great pictures."
Now, Taehyung is the one blushing. "You guys hear that? And that's coming from a photography and film major!"
Admittedly, Taehyung feels proud of himself to hear such a compliment from his boyfriend. He loves taking pictures and does it a lot and Jungkook always makes sure to tell him how much he likes them.
"Next question... Oh, this is a hard one! What nickname do my parents have for me?"
"I know! Your dad used to call you baby bear and your mum used to call you honey bear." Jungkook is satisfied with himself for remembering that.
"That’s right. Wow." It surprises Taehyung a little that Jungkook got it right because his parents don’t really call him that anymore and he only mentioned it once or twice. It makes him feel warm; having someone by his side who even remembers the small things.
"Okay, last question. What do you love about me the most?" Taehyung himself is curious about Jungkook's answer.
Jungkook sniffles and grabs a tissue to blow his nose. "Ahh, this is the hardest one. Maybe... No... Uhm... Ah! I know!" Jungkook exclaims, "I love how caring you are. You have so much love for your family and friends. I like how genuine and unconditional your love is. You have a very big heart."
Taehyung is positively awestruck, leaving him completely speechless. He opens his mouth a few times to start a sentence but after a few attempts he gives up. They often tell each other little things they like about the other but it always is something small and not as meaningful as that.
He throws himself onto Jungkook, hugging him as tight as never before. Taehyung peppers small kisses over the youngers face until he stops, with his lips hovering over Jungkook’s.
"I love you, Koo." He mutters.
"And I love you, Tae." Jungkook responds quietly.
After Taehyung says his goodbye and turns off the camera, he sits back down on the bed. Jungkook immediately engulfs his whole body in a hug, pulling his boyfriend down on the bed with him. He holds him tightly and presses his lips to the base of Taehyung’s neck when the older struggles a little.
"Ahh! Jungkookie, what are you doing?!" Taehyung squirms and tries to free his arms but Jungkook has them in an iron grip.
Jungkook rests his head on his boyfriend’s chest and sighs contentedly. "Let's take a nap. I'm tired and my head hurts a little."
Taehyung stops moving as he listens to the younger. He presses a kiss to the crown of Jungkook's head and says, "Okay, but let go of me so I can cuddle you properly."
They move around a little until Taehyung is spooning Jungkook. His fingers comb through Jungkook's long hair for a while before he tucks it behind his ear so it won’t tickle the younger's face and annoy him. Taehyung wraps his arm securely around Jungkook’s waist to pull him in close.
"Sleep well and get well soon." Taehyung whispers.
"Stop saying that, it only got worse when you said that before." Jungkook laughs teasingly but interlocks his fingers with Taehyung’s and relaxes.
"I'll be all better soon as long as you're with me." He sighs. Jungkook can feel Taehyung's lips kiss the back of his nape softly right before he drifts off into a comfortable afternoon nap.

Okay, so here’s a scary post: I’m not feeling very well at the moment. I woke up with a blocked ear that hasn’t gotten any better and I’ve spent today feeling very congested and fatigued with a bit of a runny nose and watering eyes. I think it’s a head cold or something like that, not coronavirus since I’m not coughing, my throat feels fine, I don’t have a fever and I’m breathing fine. And like, Australia is heading into the cold-and-flu season and the weather just got very cold so it’s not surprising if I have got a cold.
The directive is to self-isolate if unwell but otherwise I’d want to see the doctor to rule out an ear infection before getting decongestant from the pharmacist so I’m just :\\\\\\
So, in conclusion, if I’m not around much (my queue is still set to run) or very communicative, then it’s because I’m feeling pretty crappy.
#i actually woke up early today feeling like I was amazingly awake and bright and then saw the time and went back to sleep#and then i woke up an hour or so later and felt awful and went back to sleep for another 2 hours#and i had plans on using my brain for stuff but now i'm just fighting my body to concentrate enough for small tasks#and i had plans to do some shopping since the cat food's low and i need to restock some stuff#and now i'm like 'should i quarantine but pippin will starve'#'what if ear infection and my ear drum EXPLODES'#text posts#gonna go to bed in the vain hope this is just a 24 hr virus and sleep will cure it

======================== SYMPTOMS/SEVERITY OF THE SICKNESS
"About half of the 109 Covid-19 patients (ages 22 to 94) treated at Central Hospital of Wuhan, researchers there reported, developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), in which fluid builds up in the small air sacs of the lungs" [1]
"About 5% of all COVID-19 cases need intensive care, and without it, all of them will die" [3]
"If you're starting to feel severely sick though, if you're getting short of breath, if you're having any blueness in your lips or in your fingers, if the illness just feels like it's taking hold of you, you do eventually have to go in because there are interventions in the hospital that are extremely necessary" [7.1]
"They've also noticed that the progression of the illness to the severe illness seems to be happening a bit later in the course. So, somewhere around that 7 to 10-day range. So, people will often start with sort of a mild upper respiratory tract infection, progresses to a lower respiratory tract infection. Then over the course of a week, progresses to the more severe illness where they start getting the inflammation and the acute respiratory distress syndrome or the ARDS. They've also noticed that the ARDS cases are not quite as bad, and a lot of times, the patients will actually recover from the ARDS, and then it'll actually be the dilated cardiomyopathy that gets them in the end. A cardiomyopathy is where your heart stops squeezing as well, basically. So, it doesn't squeeze as well as it normally does your ejection fraction, which is an estimate of how well your heart is performing decreases severely, and then patients end up dying of basically cardiogenic shock" [7.1]
if choking sensation, call doctor
every morning breath deeply and hold breath for 10seconds. If this can be done without difficulty/coughing all good [30]
impaired sense of smell [15, 44]
cough, fever, tiredness, dry cough, aches/pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhea, difficulty breathing [39]
"These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually" [39]
symptoms that indicate severity and warrant seeking medical attention: trouble breathing, persistent pain/pressure in chest, confusion, bluish lips/face [40]
symptoms take between 2 and 14 days to show up [40]
"you sort of get better, then it comes back, you sort of get better, then it comes back" [42]
"little bit of cough, headache, runny nose ... for first 36hours ... got a little bit worse with muscle aches ... day five ... fever, muscle-aches, pain everywhere" [42]
"98% had fever, 76% had cough, 55% had shortness of breath" [43]
"incubation period of maybe about a week or two, and then there was the illness that lasted for 8 days, and then there was the shortness of breath" [43]
loss of taste and smell, fever, dry cough that comes from your chest, shortness of breath ("If your chest becomes tight or you begin to feel as if you cannot breathe deeply enough to get a good breath"), persistent pain/pressure in chest, blush lips, mental confusion, headaches, digestive issues, body aches, fatigue, runny nose, sore throat and sneezing [45]
"One possible sign that you might have Covid-19 is if your symptoms, especially shortness of breath, don't improve after a week or so but actually worsen" [45]
"you get better before it gets worse" [46]
"common cold, my nose was was stuffy, I had ear problems, sinus problems ... got better ... got hit with the flu ... headache ... was getting better with the flu and that's when I got hit with the pneumonia ... can't take a full breath like you need to" [46]
"very mild persistent headache ... that was a friday, then saturday I started to feel gradually worse during the day ... got to the sunday ... full flu-like symptoms, weak, achy ... cough at that point and high temperature ... felt like I was starting to turn the corner ... breathing problems" [47]
ibuprofen/advil could make it worse [48]
MOST VULNERABLE: ELDERLY AND THOSE WITH PRE-EXISTING HEALTH PROBLEMS
"this virus has been worse in the elderly and quite mild in children. And we think that's probably due to some immunity that's cross over from the other coronaviruses, which we typically get when we're children. So, that immunity is lost as we become adults and we age" [7.1]
"The people most vulnerable to viral infection and death are the elderly and those with acute or chronic diseases." [7.2]
Patients who have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 are disproportionately those with severe symptoms and bad outcomes [33.3]
"fatality rate was 14.8% in people 80 or older" [11]
"1.3% in 50-somethings, 0.4% in 40-somethings, and 0.2% in people 10 to 39" [11]
"The age-related death risk probably reflects the strength, or weakness, of the respiratory system" [11]
AVOIDING CONTAMINATION
"A new study found the SARS-CoV-2 virus was detectable in aerosols for up to 3 hrs, up to 24 hrs on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic/stainless steel." [6]
"It's an enveloped virus (with a thin plasma membrane), so easily broken chemically: killed by soap/detergents" [8, slide 17]
90% of virus dies after 6h of weak sunlight [8, slide 17]
home-made sanitiser recipe: "mix two parts 95% non-denatured (denatured contains toxic elements to prevent drinking) ethanol ... with 1 part aloe vera gel" [8, slide 44]
"20 seconds of thorough hand-washing can take one down" [9]
fabric over the mouth/nose should help against the virus contained in water-vapour in the air [15]
"Covid-19 transmits very early in infection, even before people start to become unwell." [41]
"“I don’t think we know,” said Weiss when asked about the immunity question. “I think they’re going to be immune for a while." Perlman said some other coronaviruses — the four that cause colds and flu-like illnesses — can be caught more than once. He wonders if people who had asymptomatic infection would not develop enough antibodies to be able to fend off the virus on a later exposure but might have a mild infection on a second go-round." [41]
STRENGTHEN IMMUNE SYSTEM
"the less toxins we put in ourselves, the healthier we get our intestines and our heart and our lung, and the more we sleep and the lower our stress, and the more we exercise and we're doing everything to get our immune system and our biology working well, then that has potential to be a long-term strategy of preventing infections. And I would say that has been borne out in my clinical experience." [7.1]
"if you strengthen your immune system you will be okay" [11]
"The common denominator is a compromised immune system. People with robust immune systems have a much lower infection vulnerability and, if infected, a much higher survival prognosis." [7.2]
THINGS THAT WEAKEN IMMUNE SYSTEM
"Excess alcohol consumption affects booth innate and adaptive immunity, leading to a significant weakening of your defences and heightening the risk of infections. Avoiding not only sugary drinks but sugar in general will also benefit your immune function, while a high sugar intake is associated with an increased mortality risk from all causes" [33.4]
"She covers the role of 5G in weakening the immune system" [14.2]
ADEQUATE SLEEP
"I don't know if there's anything that's really going to have as much of an impact on your immunity than sleep" [7.1]
recommends [11]
"Shorter sleep duration, measured behaviorally using actigraphy prior to viral exposure, was associated with increased susceptibility to the common cold" [38]
EXERCISE
" immunity will actually be slightly lower when I'm training really hard. So, movement, staying in shape but not overdoing it will be important when you think about exercise" [7.1]
"Exercise boosts your immune system in multiple ways, including causing white blood cells, which fight disease, to circulate more rapidly, allowing them to detect illnesses sooner" [33.4]
"excess sitting is a risk factor for disease in its own right and has even been linked to an increased risk of death from all causes" [33.4]
SPENDING TIME IN NATURE
recommends [15]
"In a study of 20,000 people, a team led by Mathew White of the European Centre for Environment & Human Health at the University of Exeter, found that people who spent two hours a week in green spaces — local parks or other natural environments, either all at once or spaced over several visits — were substantially more likely to report good health and psychological well-being than those who don’t" [22]
"time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote for stress: It can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood" [22]
STRESS
"Worry and panic and stress deplete vitamin A, which we need to fight the virus" [14.2]
stress/anxiety weakens the immune system [33.4]
HOT WATER IMMERSION / SAUNA
"increase your own heat shock protein production and enhance your immunity, and that's via the use of frequent sauna exposure" [7.1]
recommends [11]
"sauna practice ... increases the expression of heat shock proteins and also boosts white cell counts" [7.3]
Men that used the sauna 2-3x per week were 27% less likely to get pneumonia and those that used it 4-7x per week had a 41% reduced risk compared to men that used the sauna 1x per week [25]
"Here we discuss the potential benefits and mechanisms of active (i.e., exercise) and passive heating methods (e.g., hot water immersion, sauna therapy) to reduce chronic low-grade inflammation" [26]
"Scientists are not sure why saunas have such a dramatic impact on respiratory illnesses but the theory is that the heat generated by them eases airway obstruction." [27]
VITAMIN C
(1 orange contain 50mg vitamin C)
"Extra natural vitamin C such as Pure Radiance C – 1 teaspoon two times a day or 6 caps daily" [2]
"I recommend camu camu, a bushy riverside tree. One teaspoon of its cherrylike fruit in powder form has 760% vitamin C" [4]
“People that have more vitamin C are less likely to get the illness, and if they do get it they’re more likely to have a mild case.” [5]
"Only 200mg of vitamin C...reduced the death rate of elderly pneumonia patients by 80 percent.” [5]
"So, there's some studies that have shown that vitamin C, when it was given intravenously, decrease mortality and prevent the organ system failure in patients with sepsis" [7.1]
small studies have found vitamin-c to help with sepsis (life-threatening illness caused by the bodies response to infection) [8, slide 36]
'liposomal' Vitamin C is required, regular Vitamin C will not be effective, even in high doses. 20ml/day [7.2]
"I suggest taking 200-500mg oral vitamin C during cold and flu season" [7.3]
"To find a good-quality vitamin C product, look for an all organic food based supplement, or a USP grade vitamin C, produced in a GMP certified facility. A few good brands that fit these criteria include Whole Foods Food Sourced Vitamin C, American Nutraceuticals and OrthoMolecular Buffered C capsules" [7.3]

"said his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C. Identical amounts of the powerful antioxidant are then readministered three or four times a day, he said." [21]
"The patients who received vitamin C did significantly better than those who did not get vitamin C" [21]
"natural absorption of vitamin C above an intake of about 200 mg decreases sharply by 50%" [49]
"Liposomes are phospholipid containing microscopic spheres that carry vitamin C at their core. Their absorption does not depend on vitamin C transporters like SVCT-1 but rather on direct fusion of the liposome with the small intestinal cells resulting in direct intracellular release of the vitamin C and eventually into the blood circulation." [49]
"allows it to bypass the slow vitamin C transporters present in the gut" [49]
"some products labeled as “liposomal" vitamin C don’t utilize “liposome” delivery at all" [49]
"A good liposomal vitamin C supplement should be non-GMO and preferably use phospholipids derived from sunflower lecithin" [49]
"Choose a formed liposomal or a well made pro-liposomal supplement that contains vitamin C and a fatty substance (phospholipids or phosphatidylcholine), but does not include ascorbyl palmitate, ascorbyl oleate, or cetyl ascorbate as they offer no advantage over regular vitamin C" [49]
"A good liposomal vitamin C supplement should be non-GMO and preferably use phospholipids derived from sunflower lecithin" [49]

Arsenicum album 30C and Camphor 1M as homeopathic defense: First take one dose (about 2 to 3 pellets) of Arsenicum album 30C. If your flu-like symptoms are significant contact your local MD, describe your symptoms, and see about getting tested for coronavirus. If the Arsenicum album 30C helps alleviate your symptoms, continue dosing this remedy two to three times a day, for three days or more. If your flu-like symptoms are not being alleviated by this remedy however… Then take one dose (about 2 to 3 pellets) of Camphor 1M, from two times a day to every four hours (depending on the intensity of your symptoms), for three days or more. If neither the Arsenicum album or Camphor help reduce your symptoms within a few hours, contact me or your local homeopath as soon as possible. Early intervention is crucial. [2]

"CHAMP Pro Plus – From ½ to 1 scoop daily in water (GALT, Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue, regulates almost 70% of the immune system.)" [2]

"Unfortunately, we do not know how long this immunity lasts. We already observe multiple strains of COVID-19, and will see many more, due to the large number of carriers." [3]
'Flattening the curve' is not a viable option. The virus is predicted to infect >40% of people it comes in contact with. In order for the 'curve' to be flattened to a point where our care/treatment facilities are not exhausted, it would have to stretch over an unrealistically long period (the article estimates 10 years). The article considers containment (eradication via preventing the spread until those infected are identified and cured) as the only option [3]

Chrysanthemum Wu, Cold Psychic, has a really annoying roommate named Giselle who won’t stop throwing herself elaborate birthday parties in their tiny apartment. In a fit of annoyance, she orders up some revenge from Rhinoceros Inc., a mysterious online retailer that promises to give a cold to a chosen target. To her surprise, it actually works - but who or what is Rhinoceros Inc.? Could Chrysanthemum have finally found other people with cold-based powers? Author’s Note: A long time ago, I saw a post that mentioned the possibility of buying colds on the Internet. I thought that idea was amazing and decided to run with it…and apply it to my OCs. There’s definitely a lot of snz here, but it’s also fairly plot heavy.
This is part one - part two will come if and when I feel like it, which depends both on my schedule and how interested people are in part one. It’s about 5k.

~`~`~. For the past week, Chrysanthemum’s apartment has been exploding with people.
Her roommate Giselle had a birthday this week, and according to Giselle, birthdays are to be celebrated for at least a solid week. One day, she had her six siblings and thirteen cousins over to drink Midori sours and watch Project Runway, the next she had twenty high school friends over for a dance party, and the day after that it was her college buddies watching American Horror Story and smoking weed. When Chrysanthemum decides she’s had enough of this shit, Giselle’s adult kickball league is watching videos of their previous games and screaming at them. They are planning on having a pillow fight soon. Chrysanthemum has been invited to participate, but given that it’s 2 AM and she has an opening shift at the tutoring center tomorrow, she isn’t into it. What she wants is for Giselle and her friends to shut up and go home. There’s another party scheduled for tomorrow - this one involving a croquet course that Giselle is planning to set up in the living room. Likely, the parties won’t end until two or three days from now. Giselle never once asked if Chrysanthemum was cool with this, and she’d completely ignored her suggestions that perhaps some of these parties take place outside of their tiny apartment. “It’s cold out!” she’d complained, crossing her arms and pouting. “I don’t want to be dragging a bunch of people around in the middle of the night when it’s less than ten degrees outside - we’ll get sick!” Chrysanthemum had wished that they would - or at least, that Giselle would. That would put a halt to the never-ending parties pretty quick, and even if it didn’t, it would at least feel good to see her be inconvenienced in some way after all the noise and distraction she’d forced Chrysanthemum to endure. Unfortunately, that wasn’t happening any time soon. In fact, Giselle would not be getting any illness until late September, a full five months from now. Chrysanthemum herself was going to be catching two colds between now and then, and a third one when she’ll Giselle’s cold thanks entirely to the latter’s failure to clean up her dirty tissues, so that pisses her off too. She can’t sleep while listening to the thwacks of pillows and the shrieks of Giselle’s friends, so she ends up laying in bed scrolling aimlessly on her phone. A strange link catches her eye, and she clicks on it - Colds For Sale. It’s probably something about winter clothing, but the word ‘cold’ gets her attention. When you're a psychic who predicts when other people are going to get sick, you can’t help having that word on your radar. Have you ever wanted to get out of a work or school obligation, but didn’t have a genuine excuse? Have you ever wanted to get revenge on someone who did you wrong - but not too much revenge? We here at Rhinoceros Inc. have the perfect solution: a cold. Yes, that’s right - with just a few clicks of the mouse, you can purchase your very own cold, to infect yourself, or another person of your choosing.

Chrysanthemum blinks. She had to have misread that. You can’t buy colds online…can you? She clicks the link. There’s a list of cold symptoms with boxes that you can tick off next to each one, a box that asks for how long you want the cold to last, a box for the intended victim’s name, a box for the date the cold should start, an option for an immediate or gradual start, and a box asking for any extra information. Hovering over the mild, medium, and severe options reveals that the mild package creates superficial symptoms that don’t leave you feeling too bad - perfect, it claims, for getting out of obligations. The medium package creates a genuine feeling of unwellness and requires rest to get over, while the severe package will knock you out completely, and should only be used with the utmost caution. Beneath all that is a disclaimer stating that the colds are not contagious, and that the company cannot be held responsible for the stunning range of consequences and complications that could arise. It also includes an advisory not to use this on children, the elderly, or those with health issues. Beneath that are payment options.
This seems like…a real thing. What the actual fuck. Against her better judgement, she finds herself checking off the boxes next to sneezing, congestion, runny nose, blocked ears, sore throat, coughing, and fever. She considers choosing the severe package, but opts against it - she doesn’t hate Giselle that much, and she doesn’t want to end up killing her by mistake. Medium it is, with eight days worth of symptoms, for Giselle Leblanc, starting tomorrow morning with all symptoms beginning as soon as possible. In the “additional information” box she writes: make it the worst kind of medium possible. This is harsh, but if there's any chance of any of the upcoming parties not happening, she’s taking it. She takes her credit card out of her phone wallet, pays, and gets a cheerful confirmation that her order has been processed, and her product will be activated this morning at 6 AM. There is a high possibility that she’s just been scammed out of $29.99 - after all, if it was going to work she’d be able to predict it, right? If nothing else, the spite she felt while making the order makes her feel better about the shouting coming from the living room. ~`~`~
The next morning around 7:30 AM, Chrysanthemum wanders into the kitchen, and sees Giselle sitting at the kitchen table by herself. The friends who didn’t bail last night are still asleep on the couch or on the living room floor, but Giselle is wide awake, clutching a tissue and sniffling.
Her late-night purchase couldn’t have possibly worked, could it?
Giselle’s breath hitches for nearly five full seconds before she sneezes - “hhph-phchuu!” into the waiting tissue. “Bless you,” says Chrysanthemum, too embarrassed to look Giselle in the eye. She starts brewing coffee and pops a slice of bread into the toaster. Giselle mumbles a congested thank you, then blows her nose so hard it squeaks. “You sound…not great.” Chrysanthemum tries her best to look deeply absorbed in the process of spreading nutella onto on her toast and slicing up strawberries to go on top. “I thidk I have a cold. Snff. I was fide yesterday, but I woke up around 6 super stuffy. Snff. This is such bad timing too - I’b having my coworkers over for croquet add finger sandwiches today, but I’m so not up for doing the prep work—hhnngh-shiew!” She pulls another tissue from the box beside her and blows. “Do you thidk you’d be able to help mbe out?” “Don’t think so, no - I have work in the morning and I’m meeting up with Marti afterward.”
“Oh, come on Chrys, it’s for a party! Snff. Cad’t you take the day off and help me?” Giselle bats her eyelashes, then dissolves into a coughing fit that leaves her rubbing her throat and grimacing. It’s likely exaggerated for sympathy points, but she does genuinely look pitiful. Chrysanthemum almost gives in - after all, it’s entirely her fault that Giselle is sick - but then shakes the notion from her head when she realizes how genuinely absurd the request is. Take an entire day off of work to set up a croquet set for a party that she doesn’t even want Giselle to throw? Hell no! She refuses again, earning herself a protruding lower lip and crossed arms. “Well, if you cad’t call off of work, cad’t you at least skip meeting Marti and come help mbe afterward? Everyone’s coming at around four, so we’ll still have a good four hours — hyahhhSHIHH! Eckh’sh!” She snuffles into another issue and massages the bridge of her increasingly pink nose. “I feel awful - don’t you care about helping me?” “If you’re that sick, shouldn’t you do a raincheck on the party anyway? You won’t have much fun, and you’ll get all your coworkers sick.”
This is technically not true, but like hell is Chrysanthemum going to tell Giselle that she bought her cold from Rhinoceros Inc. “You dod’t understand, I’ve beed hyping up the party at work for the past month! I’b dressing up like Alice from Alice In Wonderland! My boss is supposed to be the red queen. Snff. Also, Cody’s going to be there! I can’t…pass up…snff…chadce to…spend time with…HGHHSHIEW!”
Giselle flops face first onto the table and groans, while Chrysanthemum takes a bite of her toast and pats her on the head. “I don’t think that Cody is going to like you more if you sneeze all over the place and give him your cold,” she says. “I guess you’re right. Snff. I’b just so disappointed. I put so mbuch effort into making sure that everything would be perfect for my birthday and ndow it’s ruined.” Tears well up in her eyes. Chrysanthemum doesn’t feel sorry for her, but for a brief moment she feels like she probably should. That feeling completely disappears when Giselle leans over and sneezes all over Chrysanthemum, spraying her with mucus and spit. Giselle apologizes, but chases it with these words as she’s dabbing her nose: “I guess if you end up catching mby cold you kind of deserve it, since you refused to help mbe.”
“Um, okay, I guess I should start looking for a new roommate if that’s how you’re gonna be…” This is said more out of obligation than genuine feeling - while she’s irritated with Giselle for doing something so gross, she hardly has the right to complain when she engineered the whole situation. “I’m going to change into something not covered in snot, then finish getting ready for work,” Chrysanthemum says. Which I have to go to so I can pay my half of the rent on our apartment. You just sit here and blow your nose or whatever.”
~`~`~
Work is a mixed blessing. Chrysanthemum knew she would be able to leave early because she’d predicted that her last student of the day, a college junior who had been pulling all-nighters to finish a 20-page research paper, would be out with a cold. She had not predicted that one of her other students, a sophomore who had been trying to get her number for the past six weeks, would have no idea how to put together a basic five-paragraph essay, and would end up crying in her arms about how stupid he was…and then asking for her number again when she pat him on the shoulder and said something vaguely reassuring.
Dealing with other humans has completely drained her, but hanging out with Marti doesn't count as dealing with other humans. She has to tell somebody about Rhinoceros Inc. - Marti is the only person she knows who won’t judge her. She probably won't believe her - she used to be skeptical as fuck about Chrysanthemum’s powers until she proved them - but she’ll at least listen and try to offer something resembling a solution.
They meet up at Argo Tea and get lattes and cookies, then scout out a seat with outlets so that they’’ll be able to charge their phones. Marti is wearing a lime green bomber jacket covered in black lightning bolts, motorcycle boots, and a mini skirt. Her green lipstick smears off onto the chocolate when she takes her first bite of cookie.
“You look cute,” says Chrysanthemum. “Coming from someplace important?” “Tazhane,” sighs Marti, as if that’s a place, not a person. “We had a date. I wanted to make sure I looked good.” “I’m sorry to interrupt your date.”
“She had class, so it’s no interruption - and anyway you know I can always make time for my girl.” She flashes a smiles, then wipes the crumbs from her mouth. “So what’s up? You just need to vent about the never-ending birthday or is there something else going on? Did you manage to talk to Stella?”
“I did not manage to talk to Stella.” Great, that’s another thing she has to be upset about. Why, exactly, would that sweetheart want to spend time with some asshole who spends $29.99 to make her roommate miserable? “It’s about the never-ending birthday. I think I might have put a stop to it, but it’s kind of…insane. And magical. You probably aren’t going to believe me, but just hear me out, okay? I’ll buy your next latte.” “You don’t have to bribe me to listen to your weirdo shit, but if you want to buy me a latte out of friendship, I’ll take it.” Marti leans over, hands curled under her chin. “Is it the psychic thing? Did you predict I’m gonna catch another cold?” “It’s…cold-related, but it’s not a prediction. Not a new one anyhow - I already told you you’re going to get one around mid-June.” “Right, right, that’s why I decided not to go to that Cake concert. See, I’m actually taking you seriously now - see what a good friend I am? You should buy me two lattes.”
Chrysanthemum pushes Marti on the shoulder, then says, “I’m being serious, Mar. Have you ever heard of Rhinoceros Inc.?” "I have not. I guess since you said this has something to do with colds it’s rhino as in nose, not rhino as in a friendly horned jungle buddy?” “I’m pretty sure rhinos don’t live in the jungle. Anyway it’s a website where you can buy colds and give them to people. I bought one for Giselle because her birthday extravaganza was driving me up the wall, and it actually worked. Like she woke up this morning sneezing all over the place.” Marti nearly spits out her drink, then starts coughing lightly. “Um…nani the fuck, Chrys? You purchased a cold? Do you mean you like…bought viruses off the Internet? Because I’m pretty sure that’s extremely illegal and you could go to jail if someone found out.” “No, they didn’t send me anything - the site doesn’t explain how it happens. I just paid $29.99 and it happened magically. I was pretty sure it was a scam, but it was super late and I was tired and pissed off so I decided to do it anyway. Here, look at the site.” She pulls it up on her phone, which she hands over to Marti. Marti scrolls through the site, brows furrowed. “This sounds like some really detailed bullshit,” she says, biting her bottom lip. “But you believe it?” “It’s not any weirder than me being able to predict people catching colds. If I exist, why couldn’t this? Maybe there's someone out there who can psychically give people colds.” “If there is, you want to meet them, right?” “Of course I do! I’ve always wanted to meet somebody else like me. Having powers nobody else believes or understands is one of the most isolating things in the world.” Chrysanthemum tries to keep the hurt out of her voice, but it doesn’t work. Marti sighs. “Okay fine. Look, I’ve felt bad about not believing you in the past, so I’ll help you out - but you’re buying my next five lattes. The first thing we have to do is prove it. Giselle could have easily gone on your laptop while you were sleeping and saw what you tried to do, then faked a cold to try and mess with you. I think we should order colds for ourselves. That’s the only way to know for certain if this is real or if it’s a hoax.” “I dont exactly have another $29.99 to spare, let alone twice that…” “Whatever, we’ll just put it on my credit card and you’ll pay me back later. We have to get to the bottom of this, don’t we? Anyway I’d say we should each pick different symptoms, that way we can see whether we both get the symptoms we choose. I’m going to have to pick medium because it’s not going to be distinguishable from my allergies otherwise - you can pick mild if you want, though.” “No, it’s only fair that I suffer with you.” “That’s my girl!” Marti leans over and rubs Chrysanthemum’s shoulder, wrinkling her pale pink sweatshirt. “Alright, I’ll take sore throat and cough - I’m already kind of sniffly from the pollen count, so I don’t want to mix up the results. You can take all the nasal stuff. Let’s choose delivery within one hour with one day of symptoms, sound good? That way we can get back to my place and be sick in peace.” The two of them place their orders, then start packing up their things and heading to Marti's apartment.
~`~`~ The two of them lay in Marti’s loft bed, Marti wearing her Sword Art Online t-shirt and her black pajama pants, Chrysanthemum wearing Marti’s Sailor Moon t-shirt and Marti’s pink pajama pants, her hair in Sailor Moon buns because if she’s going to be sick she may as well be cute. On the bed beside them is a fresh box of tissues and a bag of cough drops, just in case. It is deeply bizarre not to know whether or not a cold is coming. Chrysanthemum has been able to predict every illness she’s experienced since childhood, and every illness Marti has had since they first met in high school. Whatever these people are doing defies her ability to predict it. They stare at the timer on Marti’s phone, which is counting down from the moment they placed their orders.
Ten seconds left. They count down each of them, hearts pounding in their chests. When they reach zero, it seems at first like nothing will happen. Chrysanthemum feels fine, and Marti says that she feels fine too. Maybe the whole thing was a coincidence - Giselle just happened to come down with a cold. Or maybe Giselle had seen the order and was putting on a show, and Chrysanthemum was going to catch hell for it later. Just as she’s about to write it off completely, a wild itch zigzags through her sinuses. Her breath hitches, her eyes slam shut and then she bolts upright in an explosive “heshhooo!”
She plucks a tissue from the box and blows her nose. After taking a few experimental sniffs, she realizes that her nose is now quite congested. One nostril is completely blocked, and the other is flooded with mucus. She blows her nose again, dislodging some of the snot. After a few moments of snuffling and sniffling, her nose starts itching again, and she lets out an itchy quartet of sneezes. Once her own explosions have stopped thundering in her ears, she notices that Marti is coughing into the crook of her elbow. It sounds phlegmy, crackly, and painful. “I thidk it worked,” says Chrysanthemum, sniffing into a fresh tissue. Still coughing, Marti offers a thumbs up. “So…what ndow? HyeshhhIEW!!” That sneeze gets muffled by the crook of her elbow. “Should we try add get id contact with the company? I’b sure they won't be willidg to explain how they do it, but maybe they’ll be a little mbore willdg to answer questions if they know I’m a cold psychic.” “Are you sure you want to just put that out there?” rasps Marti, unwrapping a cough drop and popping it into her mouth. “What if they’re some kind of shady government organization who will kidnap you as soon as they find out? Actually, what if it’s some kind of sting to capture people engaging in bio-terrorism and we’re going to jail because we bought the product? Shit, I really should have thought this through.” “Come on, this isn’t ad anime. Snff. It’ll be fide. Snff. Oh my god I’b so stuffy.”
Though she says this, Chrysanthemum’s heart still pounds as she pulls up the Contact Us link on her phone. She grabs Marti’s and and presses her cheek against her shoulder. “There’s a chat option. Snff. That’s probably a good idea. Snff.” They’re informed that a Rhinoceros Inc. representative will be with them shortly. After a few minutes - most of which Chrysanthemum spends blowing increasingly thick gunk out of her nose - someone named Hannah connects.
Kingston: Hi, this is Kingston. :) How can I help you today? “Pick a fake name!” hisses Marti. “Kingston’s probably a fake name too.” “They already have my name and yours because we’ve placed orders with the…ehhh….ehht-CHIEW! Ugh. Snff. If we were going to be anonymous we should have tried to do it sooner. Snff.”
Chrysanthemum: Hi! I’m a recent customer and I’m blown away by your product. It’s truly incredible. I was wondering if you could answer some questions about how it works? Kingston: I’m not authorized to answer questions about our process, but I can refer you to someone who is. May I ask what your question is so that I can get you to the right person? Chrysanthemum: I just want to know how it works. I can predict when people are going to catch colds, so if there’s anyone out there who can do something in the same ballpark, I want to know about it. Kingston: Just one moment please. Kingston has disconnected from the chat. Hannah has connected to the chat. Hannah: Hi, this is Hannah. I’m authorized to answer questions about our process. Before we proceed any further, I’d like to inform you that our conversation encrypted, and that you will not be able to save the information shared here. Chrysanthemum is pretty sure that she can bypass any encryption by taking a screenshot, but she isn’t going to say anything. Actually, for all she knows about technology an attempt would just set her phone on fire. She keeps reading after scratching her tingling, itching nose. Kingston informed me that you can predict when other people are going to catch colds - were you able to determine whether or not our product would work before using it? Chrysanthemum: No, I couldn’t. This is the first time I’ve ever been unsure about anything cold related, so it was a strange experience. Hannah: I see. What would you like to know? “Shit, what should I ask? Snff. Cad I just come out add ask how they do it?” She grabs a fresh tissue and dabs at her nose. After Marti finishes dealing with a coughing fit that sounds harsh enough to blast a hole through her ribcage, she tells Chrysanthemum to get on with it already. Chrysanthemum: I want to know how you’re able to give people colds. I’ve waited my whole life to meet other people who were anything like me, so if there’s anything that you can tell me, please do. Hannah: We will tell you - if you sign a nondisclosure agreement. I’ll forward it to you momentarily. Please initial in the marked boxes and send it back to me. It takes Chrysanthemum longer than it should to handle the signing, because her nose is so itchy and drippy and swollen that it’s difficult to focus on anything else. She snuffles into a handful of wet tissues, then unleashes a volley of sneezes into a fresh one. “Goddabbit,” she mumbles through her unshakable congestion. “We shouldn’t have bought bediums. Snff. I’b afraid of what the severe versiod is like—hyekkCHIEW! ASHIHH! EH’SHuHH! Ugh!! Okay, I have it signed. Snff.” Hannah: Alright. Here’s the information you requested. We have a small staff of employees who are able to remotely generate cold symptoms in a person, as long as they have their name. The exact mechanism of this ability is unknown - only that it appears to be an inborn psychic ability. Our founder provides rigorous training for employees to ensure consistency and quality of service. Chrysanthemum: Are you able to do this? Hannah: Yes - most of our employees can. Chrysanthemum: How did you find out that you had this power? Hannah: As a little girl, I got angry with my younger brother for pulling my hair, and I wished for him to catch a terrible cold, and he did. I assumed it was a coincidence, but I kept wishing colds on people who annoyed me and getting the same result. Hannah: You said that you have cold prediction abilities - how did you discover this ability? “Damn, this bitch is petty,” rasps Marti. “Then again she’s not the one spending $29.99 for the same effect, so.” “I’b the queen of pettiness. Snff.” Chrysanthemum: I’ve always known. It took a long time to realize that other people couldn’t predict when they were going to catch a cold, and even more time to get anyone to believe me - but I've always known. It’s useful to an extent, but it’s also really hard. I don’t just learn about people’s colds, I learn about all the circumstances surrounding them. So I have all these little windows into the lives of people I barely know. Sometimes I learn some really sad things and I want to help but I can’t. Also, sometimes I find out that someone is going to get really messed up because of the cold they’re going to catch, and I know exactly to help them avoid it….but I can’t, because they’re not going to believe me. “Awww…” Marti reaches over and squeezes Chrysanthemum’s shoulder. “You need to tell me stuff like this, okay? I’m your best friend. I know I’m not always cool about it but all you gotta do is yell at me and I’ll get it right eventually.” Chrysanthemum nods, and returns Marti’s shoulder squeeze.
Hannah: I sympathize. I don’t have your predictive abilities, but being able to make people sick on command is hard. You feel guilty, especially when there are consequences that you can’t predict. I’ve landed people in the hospital before without meaning to. Working Rhinoceros Inc. has been a great way to get my powers under control and use them constructively. Chrysanthemum: Is this business really constructive? Don’t most people use it for revenge or getting out of things?
Hannah: Yes - but that’s not the only reason. People have used it to stop others from making terrible life choices, for enhancing their sex life…all kinds of reasons, really.” “HEHKCHH! Snff.” Chrysanthemum nearly drops the tablet with the force of her sneeze. Hard to ibagide this kind of thidg enhancing anyone’s sex life. Snff.” “You’d be surprised Chrys, people like all kinds of wack shit.” Marti grimaces, rubs a throat that’s probably painfully raw inside. Chrysanthemum: Yeah….sorry, I didn’t mean to insult your business - I just spent like $90 on it so I have no right to talk. Look, would it be possible for me to come by sometime? I don’t know where you guys are located but I’m fascinated by this. I want to meet you all in person. Maybe there’s even something I could do to help out.
Hannah: Yes - but you’ll have to pay for travel expenses yourself. We’re located in Brooklyn, NY, would you be able to travel there? Chrysanthemum: Yeah, I live in Bensonhurst. Just give me an address and I’ll be there. “Oh mby god Marti - I’m actually going to meet these people! Snff. You have to come with me. I’m too scared to do this myself.” Chrysanthemum clings to her friends’ arm. “Please please please you’re my best friend you have to help me.” “Mmm…okay. But maybe we should get Giovanni and Augustin to come with us?” Her voice peters out, and she gulps down half a bottle of water to get it back. “We should probably take some intimidating white dudes with us in case things get hairy.” “Augustin is the least intimidating white dude I’ve ever met —wait hang on…” Her sinuses spark with itchiness, and she sneezes into her Sailor Moon t-shirt — “HiiehCHIEH! Ugh, I’b glad we only have these symptoms for adother day, this sucks. Snff.” “Chrys, focus up - we need Augustin. He might look like a flimsy little homo but when he pulls out his professor act he’s terrifying! Who do you think is going to talk to the cops and get us out of trouble if it comes to that? Not my Mexican ass and not your Chinese ass that’s for damn sure.” “There aren't going to be cops, Marti. Snff.” “You do not know that. I’m not taking any chances. We’re inviting them.” Marti trails off into a fit of hacking coughs, then reaches for another cough drop.
“Okay, fide. I'll text them once we hash out the details.” She sighs, pressing her face into Marti’s shoulder. “I’b just so happy to have finally found other people who are like me.”
“Yeah yeah you big sap, I know. Let’s get this all worked out, okay? And then lets order in some ramen or something - I need soup or my throat is going on strike. You’re staying here tonight, right?” After heaving another sneeze into a rapidly grabbed handful of tissues, Chrysanthemum says that she is.

im sorry this took forever and it is t r a s h :)
enjoy maybe :)))))
Peter yawned, laying his head on his arm, scribbling down calculations for his math homework. His eyes felt heavy, and he sniffed aggressively. Tony abruptly turned around, something Peter would notice immediately, but the kid’s messy, brown locks stayed splayed across his arm. Peter yawned again, shifting in his chair and trying to avoid skin to cold countertop contact. He normally loved being at the tower, sitting in his usual homework spot at the counter that sat in front of the kitchen area, connected to the sink and such, and keeping Mr. Stark company while he meal prepped, but today it was especially hard to stay his chipper self. Peter licked his cracking lips, and tried to sniff again, but instead was forced to breathe through his mouth, hence the dry lip problem.
“Hey, snot machine-” Tony dried his hands on a nearby Hulk themed rag.
Peter’s head quickly lifted and Tony watched as the kid’s brain took a second to follow.
“Oh, ‘m sorry Mr. Stark.” He mumbled, trying to blink away the annoying tears in his eyes. Tony noticed them, and at first, he thought the kid was going to cry and his heart leaped into his throat, but Peter’s hearty cough switched his suspicions.
“Are you alright there? Are you doing that vaping shit I see everywhere? I can sit you down with Bruce and he can tell you all about how-”
“No! No, Mr. Stark I swear, I’m not doing that stuff.” Peter tried to sniff again but gave up.
“Ok then, you’re infected.”
Peter’s head whipped around and he stood up more, opening his eyes and pursing his lips.
“I am not. I swear.”
Tony raised his eyebrow and walked over to his, well, whole ass sick child.
“Ok alright, so you wouldn’t mind cooking tonight for everyone? With your hands? Let’s make pizza from scratch.”
Peter knew better than to get everyone sick to try to prove a point, and he knew Mr. Stark was are of that as well.
“Ok, maybe I don’t feel s-”
Tony cleared his throat and Peter shifted his feet, changing his words.
“I think it’s just a sinus infection. I’m fine though!”
“No-”
“Patrol. I know.”
Peter slumped in his seat, setting his head back down on his arm and continuing his sniffling and math. He would never say, but he was kind of glad he could stay in and sleep and relax instead of swinging around the freezing cold air of Queens and sniffling in bad guy faces.
-------------------------------------------------
Peter sniffled for the millionth time that night and shivered. The team was settling in for movie night, something for which Peter was usually estatic for, but he was cold and the first person to sit next to him was going to be his personal body pillow. That lucky victim was Steve Rogers, who didn’t really believe Tony when he complained about how clingy a tired Peter could be, until now. Peter sniffed and snuggled his head into Steve’s thick, forever warm arm and sighed in relief. His head felt heavy and he couldn’t wait for the lights to be turned off. He groggily watched as Tony dropped a blanket over him, and sat down by Pete’s feet.
They got a half hour into the movie before Peter shot up and began sneezing like a maniac. It scared the shit out of Steve, and really everyone else. He would get maybe two shaky breaths before another spit filled sneeze would rack his body, along with horrible coughing. Tony grabbed a tissue and shoved it in Peter’s hand, rubbing soft circles into his back. Peter groaned, his fit coming to a hault, and swallowed roughly. As he was going to lay back down, his whole body erupted in an overwhelming spidey sense. He sat there for a moment, letting the adults think he was just collecting himself, before excusing himself to the bathroom.
He shut the door and hurridly stripped his clothes off, his spidey suit already under his outfit for the day (per usual), and climbed right out the window. He knew Mr. Stark would be mad, but he hoped that if he kept his heart rate in the green-no-baby-monitor-needed-area, that it would be a while until he saw an Iron Man suit speeding towards him. He was wrong.
The minute Peter crawled outside, the wind ripped right through him. The heater in his suit wasn’t enough, so Spider-Man shivered as he swung through the city. Half-way to his destination he pulled his mask up, and wiped his nose on his sleeve, making a mental note to stuff tissues in a secret pocket or something.
Peter tuck and rolled straight into a gas station that was several blocks away, and he had trouble remembering whether his spidey sense could even pick up things this far away, but was distracted by the huge knife wielding man glaring at him.
“Hey, what’s with the butter knife, man?” He shot his webbing at the man’s hand, sticking to his huge fist. “This lady doesn’t look like butter to me.” Peter yanked the man’s hand forward and jumped on his back, kicking him down to the ground. He sniffed and coughed while tying the idiot’s hands behind his back in web-cuffs.
“I’m glad swung over here when I did, otherwise he would’ve buttered some toast.” Pete looked at the little old lady the man was threatening before.
“You sound congested, dear.” The lady began digging through her purse, probably for some motherly tissue or pills, when Peter’s whole body erupted in chills. He turned his head and wasn’t fast enough.
The gunshot was loud and left Peter’s ears ringing. He quickly jumped in front of the older lady and shot his web right in the barrel of the gun, the whole thing exploding in the what Pete assumed to be the first guy’s backup’s hand. He wouldn’t have noticed that his shoulder was bleeding if it weren’t for the older lady pressing a tissue into it. He hissed and dropped down a bit, turning and grabbing his stinging shoulder.
“The police are on their way, stay safe!” Peter shouted as he swung off, and back towards the tower.
“Karen, do you think Mr. Stark knows I left?” Peter asked as he swung through the city, ignoring his runny nose completely now.
“He seems uneasy since your departure from the couch, but he hasn’t gotten up.”
Peter nodded and coughed as he swung back. He managed to make his whole trip fifteen minutes, give or take, and he crawled back into the bathroom, yanking his clothes back on. He flushed the toilet for effect and opened the door to Mr. Stark’s raised fist ready to knock on the door.
“Hello…” Peter mumbled, looking wide-eyed up at Mr. Stark.
“We thought you fell in!” Clint yelled from the couch, pausing the movie.
“Oh, sorry. I just...needed to blow my nose.”
“For fifteen minutes?” Tony raised his eyebrow and let Peter pass as he avoided eye contact with his mentor, well, father figure. “Hey-” Tony reached out and grabbed Peter’s hurt shoulder, eliciting a wince and hissing sound from the teenager.
“Oh?” Both Tony and Steve said at the same time, Steve actually getting off the couch, his second father figure. “Move the shirt,” Tony said, crossing his arms.
“It’s nothing I just, uh, scratched too hard.” Peter smiled sleepily, sniffing. His excuse was poor, and he knew it, so he sighed and moved his shirt to unveil his bleeding shoulder.
Tony rushed forward and took a closer look, hollering at Bruce to get up and come to take a look. Tony and Steve resulted to yelling at Peter while Bruce wiped at the blood with some gauze, determining it a small bullet wound, just a graze.
“A graze? From where? The bathroom?” Tony asked knowingly.
“Ok, maybe I went out and helped this old lady and there was a guy with a knife and another with a gun but I’m al-” Peter gasped and sneezed into his elbow, looking back up to his fathers, and smiled innocently. “-alive.”
Steve placed a hand on Tony’s shoulder and the smaller man sighed, rubbing his face.
“He’s ok. I patched him up while you two threw a fit over a young man doing what was right.” Bruce smiled and patted Peter’s back. Peter smiled back in surprise, and he could have sworn he heard Dr. Banner tell him he would kill him if he used more gauze on him, but his head was getting heavy and his eyelids weighed tons. He yawned and looked down at his feet.
“I’m sorry. I just...wanted to help.” He mumbled. Peter felt two strong hands on his good shoulder, and they all walked back to the couch, returning right back to the positions they were in fifteen minutes ago. Peter fell asleep to soft circles being rubbed into his back and calf, and he swore he could sense Tony and Steve holding hands, but he was too tired and sick to care.

Help! What Cold Medicine is the best for Cat Flu.
What is Cat Flu?
A Cat flu is like a human cold it has the same symptoms as for us humans. Your cat will have a runny nose and runny eyes, sore throat and probably no appetite. Sometimes your feline friend can have aches and pains in the muscles and joints. Mouth ulcers, loss of voice and fever as well as dribbling and sneezing can be a side effect of the flu just like in humans. Cat flu symptoms in cats In a typical case, a cat flu is not so severe in adult cats, but they suffer depending on how strong the symptoms appear and the cat flu takes out a lot of energy from your cat, you know from your own experience you can be quite ill with influenza. I recommend that all cats with the flu or cold should see a vet. Depending on how fast your cat is diagnosed and treated with a cat cold or cat flu, the cat flu recovery time is typically from around 12 days to four weeks.
Human cold medicine over the counter is a no-go for your cat.
Unfortunately, when your cat is suffering from a runny nose or sneezing a lot, you can not give her the cold medicine you buy over the counter for your self. Always keep in mind that human medicine is made for humans and not for cats or pets. I know sometimes we feel sorry for our feline friend and we can see how much they suffer, but think in the best interest of your cat that human medicine might harm your cat or in the worst case poison your cat. The best thing you can do for your cat is, bring your cat to the vet and get it diagnosed and treated. The vet will give you the appropriate medication for your cat and for you the proper instructions on how to administer the medication to your cat.
Help your cat to get over the flu with ease.
There are little things you can help your cat get over the flu with ease. It is depending on your cat on how much your cat is tolerating what you do with her. Topics of the Cat Flu Provide your Cat with a recovery area Turn up the heat and keep your cat warm Food and water during the flu is important for your cat Critical facts during the time your cat has the flu. Testing the dehydration of your cat Vaccination Environmental Stress Factors Vitamins and Supplements for Cats Medical Membership for Pets to Reduce Costs
Give your cat the space it needs to become well again. Provide a recovery area.
As you know cats when they are sick or feeling not well, they look for a place to hide. Make sure you have access to your cat, and you can help and provide your cat with a recovery area. Cats don't like noise especially when they are sick. Keep them out of the way from the household traffic and your other pets. The area should be kept warm and comfortable with a bed, a litter box, water and food in close reach. Your cats' favourite toys ( please wash them after the cat recovers) in case they are not washable, please trash them and get new ones to avoid spreading the infection.
Cat Flu and well being. Turn Up the Heat keep your cat warm.
Create for your cat a warm place where she can hide, but you still have access to it. If you are a smart cat owner you understand your cat's needs. Cats do not like water but getting the cat into the hot steamy bathroom when you are taking a shower will do wonders in opening their airways, nasal passages while fighting the infection. That is a great "cat blocked nose remedy." If you have floor heating in your bathroom, your cat will properly already made herself a home there. Cats are finicky so don't stress them out with too much home remedies. But one thing that helps me with my cats in winter they love to stay in our bathroom under the sink as we have floor heating. If you do not have floor heating get a heating pad but use it with care and don't make it too hot as you can quickly burn the paws of your cat. If you live in a cold country you have to switch on the heating and that in general makes the air dry. We can feel it ourselves. Switch on a humidifier for around 30 min each day in the recovery area of your cat for two or three days; it will relieve the congestion for your cat. It works the same as for Babies. You can do it for longer if your cat needs longer time to recover.
Food and water during the flu is important for your cat
The same as we humans, your cat will lose the appetite and smell during the time we have a cold. The same goes for your cat, because of that your cat might refuse to eat and to drink. Especially when your cat has a sore throat. From my experience when a cat has a cold or flu, they will not eat the canned food with jelly, because when a cat has a sore throat, it is hard for them to swallow. You can use can food with gravy and warm it a bit, so the smell and the flavour come out more. That might help to awaken the appetite in your cat. Cats love to smell. If you wonder what to feed a cat with a sore throat, I mix up some vegetable fish or meat and put it with a bit of broth in the blender and feed it to my cat. I change the fish or meat each day, so my cat does not get bored of it. Believe me; you become very creative when you have a cat who refuses to eat because it is sick and you will worry a lot. Cat lovers know how fuzzy a cat can be about food. Monitor your cat during the time it has the cat flu. Cat flu weight loss is unavoidable, but you have to decide when it is time make a trip to the Vet.
We all know that trips to the Vet are expensive and if you have more than one pet the bill gets bigger. Save with PetPlus Membership.
Critical facts during the time your cat has the flu.
One thing is critical during the time your cat has the flu. Your cat needs to be kept hydrated, and water is essential. If your cat is getting dehydrated, you might have to bring her to the vet for a saline drip iv infusion to keep her hydrated. Keep the water bowl ( better put a few around the house), and one near the place where she is residing so your cat does not need to walk too far to get the water. Clean and change the drinking water and water bowl 2x a day. You can also use electrolyte replacement fluids for pets. ( ask your pet shop or your veterinarian for it. That will help to fight the dehydration. If your cat utterly refused to drink, try chicken broth a couple of times. Testing the dehydration of your cat It is vital that you monitor your cat's hydration levels. To get an estimate of how hydrated your cat is by gently pinching the at the spot area of your cat. It is the area where a mother would pick up her kittens. Pinch that area and hold it up for five seconds if the hydration of your cat is healthy it will snap back in less than a second. If your cat is dehydrated, it will take longer to snap back. You can calculate for each extra second it takes to snap back to its original position takes 3% to 5% of dehydration. Most vets estimate 3% to 5% of dehydration for each extra second until it returns to its original position. Dehydration levels of 5% and above need a trip to the vet. Another way to test the hydration levels of your cat with the flu. Take caution with that method as your cat might bite your finger. You can check your cat’s gums. Usually, the cat has a soft pink colour gum, and it is wet and slippery. ( like a human gum) In case the gum of your cat is red or pale, and the feeling on your finger is tacky and sticky then your cat is dehydrated. Be aware that your cat might bite your finger when trying to test this method. An experienced cat person should only use this method. When you believe your cat is dehydrated than you should see a veterinarian immediately to prevent further issues such as bacterial pneumonia. It is also essential that your cat is urinating and defecating when you discover that your cat has diarrhoea that will lead to further dehydration.
Cat Flu and Fever
If your cat develops a fever then you have to take a trip to the Vet. A cat with a fever has hot ears, hot and dry nose, and hot feet and paws. The eyes look a bit glossy and the cat is in general tired. Check for Infection and shock you can recognize it with cold feet and pale gums, (press gently on the gum to see if blood re-enters, good gums look pink and healthy, just like you and me)
Help your cat grooming. Groom your cat regularly each day
Help your cat grooming, brush the fur of your cat every day even if your cat is not sick. You help your cat with grooming her coat, and there is less hair in your house, at the same time you spend some quality time with your cat ( my cat loves the grooming), and your cat is swallowing less hair because you take out quite a bit. I had once a problem with my tuxedo cat she was grooming and grooming chewing of her hair at the back, I thought in the beginning, she, but the vet checked and said just nervousness. So I started brushing Minka 3 times a day instead of one time, ( I still brush Minka 3 times a day) and in two weeks all the hairs she chewed off started to grow back. I guess it is the same with us, when we go to the hairdresser we feel after the haircut itchy and change the shirt or blouse. So for me, this is the same for cats they get itchy because of the underfur getting lose and they start to itch. FREE 24/7 VET ACCESS Access a vet specialist 24/7 via email, chat or phone. Discharge coming from the Eyes
Mucus or discharge is common in cats with the flu. You have to clean the eyes of your cat frequently with soaked cotton balls best use lukewarm salt water. Do not use the cotton balls twice, discharge them after each cleaning to prevent the spreading of the infection especially if you have more then one cat. When the discharge is excessive, and your cat's eyes hurt when you clean them, then it is to visit your vet as the infection may have caused a corneal ulcer, and that can only be treated with professional help your veterinarian.
When the nasal passage is congested
Use a soft damp cloth or a soft wet cotton ball and wipe your cat's nose on a regular base. Use salt water a pinch of salt for 200ml water. You can also use chamomile water solution. You can mix in one drop of non-perfumed coconut oil ( do not use more than one drop) to prevent the discomfort when wiping the nose of your cat. We all know how sensitive and red the nose becomes when we humans have the flu or cold. The same goes for our cat. Removing the discharge makes the breathing for your cat more comfortable. Be gentle to your cat's nose. Be sure to discard any used cloth or cotton balls after one time use to prevent the spread of infection, and do not use them a couple of times you will make the matter worse.
The reason for cat flu
The feline herpesvirus can affect our cats in both ways in a viral and in a bacterial sickness. The feline herpesvirus causes eye ulcers, and the feline calicivirus causes an oral ulcer. Both the feline herpesvirus and the feline calicivirus are most of the time 95% responsible for the cat cold. That said a cat cold could also be caused by a combination of viruses and bacteria that comes in contact with your cat or other cats, especially with outdoor cats.
Environmental Influences for Cat Flu
Cats are sensitive, and they need the routine in changing the routine of your cat, you might cause her stress and that will weaken her immune system and can trigger a cold or the flu. For example, you go on a holiday, and you put your cat into a boarding residence — the recuperating from being spayed or neutered. Moving to a new home, loss of a person in the household, the loss of a pet, a new baby arrives, there are many factors and influences where a cat can get easily stressed. Not every cat is the same some adapt easier, and some have a hard time to adjust to changes.
Cats and Vitamin supplements to prevent Cat Flu
Can a cat take vitamins to help her strengthen the immune system? It is not clear on giving a cat vitamin supplements will help for the cat flu or cat cold. The recommendation is that you should consult your veterinarian for advice and the right supplements. Again it is not recommended to use the human vitamins for a pet. Most Veterinarian will recommend Lysine.
What is Lysine and how can it help?
It is like in humans once a cat has contracted the herpes virus ( most of the cats have the herpes virus in their body, and most of the time it is dormant) it will remain in the cat's system. Same goes for cats who had the cat flu. The herpes virus will be with them forever. Your vet might suggest lysine, an essential amino acid that serves as a building block of protein, helping to inhibit the replication of the virus. Recommended doses are around 500 mg and given a few times per day. The Lysine is available in a gel formula and pills. Depending on your cat but the tablets might be a challenge for you to give your cat. In most of the treats, there is lysine, but it is only a fraction of the daily dose required to become effective. You might use Lysine 5 to 7 days before any stressful events. It may be helpful in boosting the immune system of your cat and at the same time lessening the risk of upper respiratory infections following these events. Other home remedies It is commonly discussed on the Internet to use Vitamin C and Apple Cider Vinegar, and I am amazed when people can feed or administer this to their cat. As cats have a sensitive smell and usually do not like apple vinegar or vitamin C. I do not recommend this solution with apple cider vinegar or Vitamin C. You might harm your cat instead of helping her. Home remedies can help but can also harm your cat. Whenever you see signs of that your cat might develop the cat flu or the cold than please take a trip to your veterinarian. Essential oils for cats and dogs
Can the vaccine help?
The cat flu has a lot of different strains of viruses, and it is the same as the human flu the vaccine is not effective against them all. If you decide to vaccinate your cat against the cat flu, there are two doses of vaccine needed initially followed by boosters. Your Vet will be pleased to help you out and explain to you in details. In case that you go on a holiday and put your cat up into a boarding home than you need to be up to date with your vaccinations for your cat. The cat flu vaccine cost is different from Veterinarian to Veterinarian. I hope I give you some valuable information about the cat flu and the cat cold. Please tell us and give us your helpful advice on how you handled your cat or cats when the flu has visited your cat.
Conclusion.
My cats are outdoor cats and do not stay inside all the time. But I have taken the initiative to vaccinate all our cats. I know there are pro and cons about vaccination, but so far we are lucky and had no significant issues with the cat flu. Our cats come together with our neighbour's cats, and we had 2 of our cats with the cat flu. Luckily it passed after 12 days. If you have more than one cat and one of them has the cat flu or cat cold, the best advice I can give is keep them separate. Wash your toys, bedding, cat litter etc. after your cat is well again and do not use the same items with your other cats. The cat flu is a nonpredictive disease that can cause harm to your cat if left untreated for too long. With a proper and healthy diet, your cat will have a long life. I know I talk a lot going to the vet and I also know a vet is expensive. When you have more than one pet or only one pet I highly recommend the pet plus membership it will help you to reduce your vet bills and it keeps your four-legged friends save. You can save hundreds of dollars in vet bills and medication.

Tips for Beating Hay Fever
I am one of the three million Australians who experience the ill effects of hay fever. Each time springtime arrives so does the runny nose, irritated eyes and consistent sniffling and wheezing as my body's resistant framework goes to fight with sensitivities.
Hay fever or occasional unfavorably susceptible rhinitis as a few people call it is brought about by regular allergens specifically airborne dust from blooms, trees and grasses, and can influence individuals lasting through the year however springtime is hay fever time for me. Despite the fact that not for the most part viewed as a genuine condition, hay fever can seriously influence your quality of life by meddling with your capacity to work, rest, practice and mingle. I was once admitted to healing center (start of Springtime) subsequent to encountering a surge overwhelm my body from my toes to my head finishing in a monstrous cerebral pain, this starts a wide range of concerns closure with the specialist closing you have terrible sinus, at the end of the day hay fever.
There seems, by all accounts, to be no correct day I will experience the ill effects of the indications of hay fever, most likely on the grounds that the dust levels on any given day are influenced by temperature, moistness and the speed and heading of the wind. I have even felt the season of day can have a direction on the manifestations of hay fever, as plants bloom at a young hour in the day, making dust numbers especially high amongst first light and mid-morning.
My question is the reason me? Well I am told right off the bat, hay fever just influences individuals who have an inclination towards sensitivities (yet I am not susceptible to creepy crawlies), which happen when the body (safe framework) has an overstated reaction to a substance that is regularly endured by the body. These substances known as allergens start an insusceptible reaction making certain cells in the nose and eyes discharge incendiary histamines. These histamines aggravate and chafe layers of the nose and eyes bringing on a run of the mill unfavorably susceptible reaction including blocked noses, runny noses, wheezing, and hacking and eye irritation, among others.
Besides, for hay fever to strike, you should be presented to or come into contact with an allergen. Hence to lessen the side effects of hay fever you have to maintain a strategic distance from introduction however much as could be expected. So I have assembled a few tips for limiting the contact, to lessen the side effects and set some typicality back into my life, these include:
Number one - abstain from going outside on especially high wind days when the dust check is by and large high, some online climate website can give this on the off chance that you are web sharp!
Number two - take a gander at what is developing in your garden, and outlining your garden in a way that limits grasses and plant dust; notwithstanding I my case it is not what develops in my garden it is progressively what develops in the neighbors plant!
Number three - dusts/tidy can stow away in rugs and mats so we have expelled all rugs from the house and now live on cleaned floorboards and tiles.
Number four - Maintain a tidy free house, (tidy vermin add to cap fever) yes this implies cleaning all the more consistently, vacuuming much of the time to keep any development of tidy, and also washing bedding and outfitting routinely
Number five - picking your pets precisely, creatures that loses heaps of hair aren't perfect for hay fever sufferers, in any case in the event that you do washing them and their bedding consistently may diminish the indications.
Number six - before anything else and for the duration of the day wash away the dust from your eyes as it were consistently flushing your eyes, not exclusively does it invigorate you, it flushes away dust particles.
Number seven - Boost your safe framework. We have constantly taken vitamin C, for colds, and from research it known to lessening histamine levels, and conceivable decrease manifestations. Horseradish contains exacerbates that may decrease respiratory blockage, conceivably diminishing running noses. Lastly because of the way that congested sinuses are a rearing ground for microscopic organisms, I have had ear disease now and again, so it was proposed to me garlic may keep this in light of its antimicrobial properties and like vitamin C additionally has immunostimulant properties at the end of the day a specialist that empowers the insusceptible framework.
Most importantly don't push, stress can make your resistant framework work beneath its ideal level, hay fever for me is an occasional condition, and I know it will ease following fourteen days, so I spend most ends of the week at the shoreline in clear air and loads of salt water that additionally works ponders for the sinuses.

Tadacip Review: Don’t Buy Before You Read This!
What is it?
Tadacip is a prescription PDE-5 inhibitor, used to treat impotence in men. This medication promises to bring blood flow to the penis in order to provide a lasting erection suited for sexual activity.
Tadacip relies on the active ingredient, tadalafil to deliver the erectile benefits its provides. Tadacip is meant to have an effect on the tissues surrounding the penis, relaxing the muscles in the genital area, which allows more blood to easily flow in.
After reviewing all kinds of male enhancement pills, our review experts have come to the conclusion Viritenz works best to improve libido, function and overall male vitality. Customers have benefitted from the unique formulation of minerals, herbs and more, offering a natural solution to erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and low testosterone. Click the link to see all that Viritenz has to offer.
Do You Know the Best Male Enhancement Supplements of 2017?
Tadacip Ingredients and Side Effects
Tadacip contains only a single active ingredient, the prescription drug known as tadalafil. Here’s a look at this ingredient, as well as the side effects.
Tadalafil
Tadalafil: Is a prescription medication used to treat patients suffering from erectile dysfunction, or other sexual performance issues. This ingredient belongs to a class of drugs known as PDE-5 inhibitors, which block the production of a substance in the body called cyclic GMP, which builds up in the penis, particularly as we get older, and blocks blood flow to the penis.
Tadalafil also delivers benefits to the user by stimulating blood flow in the system, which allows the penis to become hard more easily, and keep an erection while having sex.
Tadalafil may cause headaches, back pain, muscle pain, cold symptoms like runny nose, nasal congestion or sinus pain, as well as flushed skin, restlessness and anxiety.
In some cases, tadalafil may experience a temporary loss of vision or hearing, or a loud ringing in the ears.
In rare cases, tadalafil may cause users to have a heart attack or experience heart palpitations.
People considering Tadacip should be aware that this substance may add some strain on the heart, particularly during sex. If users notice any adverse effects on the heart, they should stop having sex and immediately call a doctor.

EDITOR’S TIP:Combine this supplement with a proven male enhancement pill such as Viritenz for better results.
Tadacip Quality of Ingredients
Tadacip is only made from the one ingredient, tadalafil, outlined above. While potential consumers should be aware of potential side effects, there is plenty of evidence available suggesting that this could help many people overcome their sexual dysfunction issues.
Tadacip is a generic version of Cialis, and according to the official website, is designed to work nearly the same as the original formula.
Whether this is the right solution is dependent on the severity of impotence, as well as making sure the dosage is right for your specific needs. Because this is a prescription drug, you’ll likely speak with a doctor prior to adding this to your routine, but dosage seems to be key in making sure this product delivers the results that are expected.
Again, users with heart conditions should look for a solution other than Tadacip, while those who are healthy should keep in mind this drug does come with some risks.
Your go-to guide to the best penis pills, devices and herbal supplements. Click the link to see our experts’ picks.
The Price and Quality of Tadacip
Tadacip is a prescription drug, made in India, and sold online without a prescription. It’s unclear whether tadalafil is sold as a prescription drug under the actual name, Tadacip. Name brand Cialis is sold for around $40 a pill when purchased out of pocket, though generic versions often cost significantly less.
Tadacip can be found through a number of websites selling prescription drugs at a reduced rate, with many offering the product as low as $1 a pill, should you decide to buy them in bulk.
We recommend proceeding with caution if you decide to order Tadacip through a third-party website based outside of the United States. Some sites are less credible than others, and as a result, put consumers at an increased risk of receiving fake product.
Check out our favorite herbal alternatives to prescription ED medication — click the link for the full list.
Business of Tadacip
The name of the company that manufactures Tadacip is the Indian drug company, Cipla and we do not have contact information for them.
The Tadacip official website, or rather the one that comes up first in the Google results, is full of information about the product discussing everything from how it works, to pricing and more.
We appreciated that the people selling Tadacip thought to inform the users of benefits, risks, dosing and more, but the fact is, there are many sellers of this product, and several of them provide addresses in the US as their business address with no ties to Cipla.
Cipla themselves have long been selling drugs of all kinds and have a decent reputation in India and beyond. What we don’t like about Tadacip, is it doesn’t seem like people in the US can get this product through their doctor or pharmacy, and it’s illegal to sell prescription PDE-5 inhibitors without a prescription.
Customer Opinions of Tadacip
Because this is a prescription drug, there were many people out there who had actually tried Tadacip. Results were mixed, and largely dependent on health condition, age and a number of environmental factors. Here’s a look at some of the experiences reviewers posted online:
“This product has helped me get an erection, and have improved length and girth than the rare occasion I get an erection when I’m not on Tadacip. I did experience lower back pain, but it wasn’t too bad.”
“I’m not exactly the picture of health, but this has helped me in spite of all my smoking and drinking, which may or may not have caused my ED. A dose of 10mg usually does the trick.”
“So, every time I’ve taken this drug, and drank alcohol, I’ve either fallen asleep or felt like I was going to have a heart attack. It’s great if I’m doing yoga, eating well and ditching the booze.”
“I don’t have ED, but I have a stressful job and its effected my performance despite diet, exercise, etc. 15mg on any night I’m expecting to have sex has really helped me out.”
It seems like Tadacip works, though the results may vary. Some men experienced minor problems like low back pain or headache, but felt it was worth the opportunity to have more fulfilling sex.
We noticed some people were using this product to treat issues like performance anxiety with some success. That’s not one of the advertised uses, but it seems promising.
Tadacip could be a good solution for treating erectile dysfunction, however, it would be wise to consult a physician before trying to order this online, or searching for a more widely available solution that can be obtained through the pharmacy and covered by insurance.
Whether want to increase strength and stamina, or just gain some control over your ED, our guide will help you find the solution that works best.
Conclusion – Does Tadacip Work?
Tadacip, much like its name brand counterpart, Cialis, seems to be effective for a large portion of consumers using this product to treat ED. There are some risks with using this product, but for men who are otherwise healthy, it may alleviate the symptoms of sexual dysfunction.
Unlike some of the other prescription solutions we’ve come across, there aren’t many reports of some of the more serious potential side effects like heart palpitations, dizziness, or temporary loss of any senses. There were some reports of people who had experienced headaches and lower back pain, but not much else.
Still, it’s wise to talk to a doctor if you have ED to determine if there are any underlying conditions. PDE-5 inhibitors may be dangerous for men with heart conditions or who are taking certain types of medications that contain nitrates.
Additionally, it’s not clear if you can get Tadacip from a doctor as you would Cialis, so it’s wise to proceed with caution and read reviews should you decide to purchase this product from an unauthorized seller.
Last, it’s worth mentioning that men with more mild forms of ED may want to try an herbal solution before trying prescription strength. Tadacip seems to be effective in treating men with severe and mild ED when dosed properly, but some users may not want to use a drug unless it’s the last resort.
According to our team of experts, Viritenz most effectively offers relief from sexual issues like erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and more, all without a prescription or any negative side effects. Made from tribulus terrestris, L-arginine, maca and more, this supplement is both healthy and effective for men of all ages.
The makers of Viritenz follow strict FDA guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices in an effort to keep customers safe, and deliver the promised results. To read up on the formula and countless benefits of Viritenz, click here.

Our members can easily save between $300 and $800/year on unnecessary vet visits Normally a $170/year value. Free with PetPlus.

Avanafil Review: Don’t Buy Before You Read This!
What is it?
Avanafil is a generic PDE-5 inhibitor often sold under the brand names Spedra or Stendra. This product works to improve eretile dysfunction in men suffering from the condition.
Avanafil works to bring more blood flow to the penis, by opening up blood vessels that are constricted in those with ED. This product is only available with a prescription and is usually taken before a sexual encounter, rather than as a daily supplement.
By reviewing many male enhancement pills our review experts have concluded the best overall is Viritenz. This potent herbal blend targets erectile dysfunction symptoms without causing users to experience any uncomfortable side effects. L-arginine, tongkat ali and more bring a mix of stamina and performance to men with low sex drives, ED and more. For more about Viritenz, and its benefits click here.
Do You Know the Best Male Enhancement Supplements of 2017?
Avanafil Ingredients and Side Effects
Because Avanafil only contains one active ingredient, there’s not much to the formula. However, we’ve listed some of the benefits and side effects below.
Avanafil
Avanafil: A PDE-5 inhibitor, similar to Viagra, Cialis and the like, avanafil is used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction in older men, or those experiencing performance issues.
This drug works to fill the blood vessels that deliver blood to the penis, and blocks an enzyme known as phosphodiesterase-5 (or PDE-5) that works to return blood vessels to a normal size, ending an erection.
Side effects associated with taking stendra may include headaches, dizziness, nausea or vomiting.
Blurry vison, back and abdominal cramping, flushing skin or rash, other effects my include cold symptoms such as a runny or stuffy nose, sinus pain or coughing.
More serious effects may include a ringing in the ears, impaired vision or hearing and fainting.
In some cases, erections may last for more than four hours. In which case, users are advised to call their doctor.
PDE-5 inhibitors may also run the risk of causing an adverse reaction in patients taking medications that contain nitrates. Nitrates are often used in medicine for diabetes and heart conditions.
People who have recently recovered from a heart attack, or who have hypertension or another chronic cardiovascular problem are advised to avoid Avanafil and similar drugs.

EDITOR’S TIP:Combine this supplement with a proven male enhancement pill such as Viritenz for better results.
Avanafil Quality of Ingredients
Avanafil is likely an effective product for treating impotence. It’s a prescription drug that’s gone through the proper channels of obtaining FDA approval for sale, meaning its likely been vetted considerably more than many of the male enhancement products available over-the-counter.
But, just because a product is approved for sale and available with a prescription doesn’t mean doesn’t come with a certain set of risks. Avanafil may be unsafe for people with heart conditions, and those who are thinking about adding this drug to their routine should undergo a physical to rule out any potential health problems.
While many people with impotence are relatively healthy, in some cases, it can be a sign of a larger, underlying health problem. Plus, many otherwise healthy men do experience issues like dizziness or vomiting or have some lingering effects a couple days after use.
For men with severe erectile dysfunction this could be a great solution, while those with milder cases of ED may want to weigh other options jumping to Avanafil.

The Price and Quality of Avanafil
Because Avanafil is a prescription medication, not an over-the-counter supplement, the price is rather high for consumers attempting to purchase the drug out of pocket. Without assistance, Stendra, the brand name of Avanafil, is sold for nearly $2,000 for a bottle containing 30 pills.
Many insurance plans do cover the cost of Avanafil, at least partially, so most consumers may not need to pay the full price, if anything at all. Additionally, the manufacturer offers vouchers on the webpage for further discounts to offset some of the costs.
While the product is to be used only as needed, and not as a daily supplement, consumers may only need this product every few months, but the cost may be prohibitive for many consumers.
Men without insurance or minimal coverage plans may not be able to justify the cost of Avanafil from a US pharmacy, and may turn to third-party websites selling the drug from other countries like India or China.
While the price on these sites bring the price down to about $2-3 a pill, sometimes less if you buy them in large quantities, there is a risk of getting a counterfeit product. Consumers should be aware of this risk, as they may be getting another product they are allergic to, or that may interact with other medications.

Business of Avanafil
The pharmaceutical company responsible for Avanafil goes by the name Vivus Labs. Their contact information is listed here:
Phone Number: 650-934-5200
Email: [email protected]
Address: 900 E. Hamilton Ave.
Ste. 550
Campbell, CA 95008
Vivus Labs has a website focusing on all their products, and gives sort of an overview of what the company is up to, as well as another completely dedicated to the product Stendra, the name brand Avanafil is sold under.
Since this product is a prescription drug, potential users don’t have option of ordering directly from either site, however, there’s a lot of good information for people to read more about the drug and its potential side effects, as well as obtain coupons for the product to later be used at their pharmacy.
The discounts offered on the site may not be used by anyone who visits the site, patients covered by Medicare or Medicaid may be ruled out as they likely already are eligible for coverage.
We were unable to find any glaring issues with Vivus Labs or Avanafil, so this product may be a good solution for men suffering from impotence. In any case, this product does come with a number of risk factors, so we urge users to have an in-depth discussion with a doctor, rather than attempting to order this through illegal third-party sellers.
Customer Opinions of Avanafil
Luckily, with prescription medication, there’s a large pool of users online who have shared their experiences. We’ve discovered that those who tried Avanafil had mixed results. Here’s a quick look at what people were saying:
“I’ve been using Avanafil for about six months. It generally works for two days, and I usually don’t get a headache or the stuffiness some of the other guys were talking about.”
“Ugh. I wasted over $200 on this product. Cialis worked a lot better for me, but it’s a little more expensive.”
“I thought this worked better than Viagra. I think you do need to get the right dose. I’m 75, and I’m really glad I finally found something that works and doesn’t cause back pain like some of the other products.”
“The thing with avanafil is, I’ve noticed it doesn’t work as well as some of the other ED pills out there, but it also doesn’t come with all the negative side effects either. A trade off to be sure.”
Based on the reviews we looked at, it seems a number of men felt that this product had a fairly low rate of negative side effects as compared to similar prescription ED pills known as much for their ability to deliver a solid erection as the headaches, congestion and dizziness that goes along with it.
Not sure where to begin? Consult our expert guide to pills, pumps and prescription ED meds.
Conclusion – Does Avanafil Work?
Avanafil could be a really great solution for a number of men suffering from impotence or severe performance anxiety, but the cost is really high for those without insurance or insurance that won’t foot the bulk of the bill.
Compared to other erectile dysfunction treatments, Avanafil seems to have a lower instance of side effects, based on the reviewers’ experiences. This is likely good news for a number of people, but everyone has different body chemistry, and there is still a risk, especially for men taking nitrates or who have chronic health problems.
There’s also the concern that Avanafil may not do enough for men with severe ED, and they may need to take a higher dose of the medication. Several reviewers we saw mentioned that this product wasn’t as effective as some of its competitors.
According to our experts, Viritenz is the most effective solution out there for men who have ED, but want to avoid negative side effects, or prefer herbal supplements to pharmaceuticals. Safe and effective ingredients such as ginseng, long jack and maca offer more energy, as well as better performance both at the gym and in bed.
Viritenz is manufactured in an FDA-approved, GMP-certified facility to ensure routine third party inspections to protect consumer safety. For more information about Viritenz click on the link provided here.
